Cleansliness at the POP?

I will be staying for the very first time ..on site... at the POP Century, and was wondering about how clean and the conditions of the rooms are. If you know : Are the bed comforters and blankets cleaned after each guest, (always a worry of mine:eek: ) bathrooms / toilets clean? etc. I also happen to bring in my own lysol cleaner to sanitize surfaces before we touch anything...cause you just never know  also: has anyone ever had any trouble with the cleaning people bothering your personal belongings? I usually pile everthing neatly in a corner (out of their way) and "set" the bags a certain way so I would know if they had been touched ( a concern of course) we keep nothing of any value in the room but the thought of someone peeking through our stuff is a bit creepy I suppose.

I know....lol.... I do sound a bit obsessive compulsive ..and is true;) :guilty:

I don't think you have anything to worry about. We stayed in 3 rooms at Pop and all were very clean. If you're worried about the bedspreads, the mousekeepers won't mind bringing a freshly washed one. I've done this a few times, as they didn't smell clean. (Yes I smell the linens:upsidedow )

I also bring the clorox cleanups and just do a quick going over on the toilets, sinks and edge of the tub just so I'll feel better. At Pop, nothing came up on the cloth, so that was good.

I'm obviously less aware of cleanliness than you, but everything was well cleaned. Can't speak for the bedspreads, but the linens were fine. Not sure I would want an infant crawling around on the floors, but that would be the case in any hotel! They're well maintained, but carpets certainly aren't shampooed between guests unless it's absolutely necessary.

I haven't encountered any issues with the Mousekeepers moving my belongings, but I'm very neat and contained. If you leave things on counters, nightstands, table, armoire shelves, etc., they probably will be moved to clean the surfaces. None of the stuff I've place in drawers ever has been disturbed.

If it's a serious concern, you might want to keep your belongings locked in your luggage. I do that with some items, but most are hung or in the drawers, with shoes on the closet shelf. It's just a matter of personal preference. :)

I was very happy with Mousekeeping at POP. We had the same Mousekeeper all week. If I wanted linens changed, extra pillows, towels, anything, she was more than happy to help me out. Nothing was ever out of place, and she always made it look as if it were our first time stepping into our room (except for our bags which I kept in the corner). She always arranged my daughters Beanie Babies in some manner. She was TERRIFIC.

I would take out the bit...... but,

We found Pop to be very clean and very nice housekeeping. Of course we use all the linens, walk on the floor, and I have even let a baby crawl on the hotel floor,
and don't wipe anything off. But I really didn't see anything that didn't look clean and sparkling when we walked in every day.

Why would a housekeeper want to look at your clothes? The only thing they ever moved was if the kids left their toothbrushes laying on the counter by the sink, then they would fold a washcloth and put them on it up on the shelf after wiping the counter.

Disney standards are very high.

that is the only resort i stay at. never have had a problem always clean.

Don't worry, this is a big concern for me too . I know it sounds crazy but I always bring my own comforter (I know, I know). It fits if I use one of those space saver bags. On the first day I leave a little note asking mousekeeping not to put the hotel comforter back on the bed, I like to use my own. Both times I stayed at POP they actually made the bed using my comforter :) .
That being said I think the rooms at POP are very well kept. I have never had a problem and always enjoy the stay there.
The only time my personal I tems were touched (besides my comforter) was when they took a stuffed Daisy and Donald I got in the parks and made it look as if they were playing cards (we had left a deck on the table). It was so cute!
Disney has very high standards so don't worry, you'll be fine!

I am paranoid about dirty hotel rooms too. My house is a mess, but those are my germs so I am ok with that! I don't want someone elses germs on me! I have heard good things about POP and hope that it is as clean as I hear when we are there.

The only thing I've noticed during previous visits is some dust on out-of-the-way places...like the top shelf of the unit that holds the TV. Overall our rooms have always been very clean and we will be heading back to POP for the fourth time in August.

OK....I am most picky about clean rooms. I spray down everything when we check in, doorknobs, phones, toilets, remote controls, everything. Will not walk on carpet barefoot, etc. I saw a 20/20 shows years ago and still remember it vividly!
We have found POP to be very clean and it's always been acceptable to me, to DH's relief, we don't have to switch rooms due to smells, etc. We have stayed there only three or four times but all were fine.

We have always had a great experience at the POP. Mousekeeping was excellent. We had even left a note asking for more towels and sure enough there was a huge pile when we got back. The floors were clean, bathroom spotless, and the bedding looked fine. We are going back for a third time with nothing but good memories of the POP.

We stayed at the POP in March 2005 and we found it to be very nice. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

We've also stayed at the Carribbean Beach and Animal Kingdom Lodge and they were exceptional as well.

Glad to hear this about AKL as that's one of the places I'll be staying this fall. I'm paraniod about hotel germs too - and drive my DBF crazy wiping things down and pulling off the comforters every trip we go on. :headache:

Our family stayed at POP in 2005, and found the rooms to be very clean. I also like to bring my own blankets whenever possible (can only do this when we drive to Flordia). It not only helps with my germaphobia, but I just feel more comfortable with my own blankets. ;)
