We have never been during Free Dining and we now have the money to go
if we choose to. How hot is it? How busy is it?? And if I book now, how hard will it be to get ADR's?? I plan to talk to DH about it today and book today if we decide to go!

Thanks

~Amanda~

From what I've heard here on the boards, it will be very hard to get ADRs at this time. There might be some early or late seatings available, so you might still be in luck. I had my ADRs in place before free dining was announced, I was very happy.

Also, the parks themselves are not very busy. It will be the TS places that will be busy.

You are talking about Aug/Sept - it will be very hot and humid, with chances of hurricane winds and rain. Hurricane season ends in Nov, so there is aways a chance of that. September is my favorite time to visit and I have never run into any horrible weather. Just a bit hot, that's all.

I would call today and make reservations! I will be staying at CSR from 9/21-29. Maybe we'll see you there!

I just called DH and he wants to go too!!!!!!!!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!
We didn't think we would be able to go until Oct of 2008!!!!!!
I'm so excited I just can't even stand it!!!!!!!!!!!

I know this is something that only my DIS friends would understand!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! Now Run to the phone and book ADRs NOW!!

We made our decision last weekend and did our hotel ressies on Sunday. I wanted to think about my ADRs some and waited until Wednesday thinking it can't be THAT bad. DH thought I was in panic mode for nothing.

We got two good times and everything else I just took what I could get. Here is what we ended up w/ for reference.

Sat 22 Ohana's 9:20pm
Sun 23 Chefs de France 6:10pm
Mon 24 Boma 8:30pm
Tues25 Mama Melrose 6:10pm
Wed 26 Whispering Canyon 8:50pm
Thu 27 Coral Reef 7:50pm

So, call and get whatever you can. None of ours are TERRIBLE but I would rather not wait until 8 and 9 to eat. :confused3 Don't know about you.

GOOD LUCK!!

I am so excited for you!! Keep calling back. You just never know when something will open up, but I think you did a good job with what you got!

I called and booked Chef Mickey's on Sept 11th at 7:00am. I knew that I wanted to eat there because we loved it last time and the guy I talked to said that it was the last open time for that day (breakfast anyway).

I am planning to call and do the rest of them today and tomorrow, once I decide what we want to do. I'm not too worried about times and it's just me and DH, so there are no kids that we have to worry about being fussy because it's time to eat before our reservation time!! (I just have to worry about DH getting fussy :rotfl: )

You will have an easier time than most because :
A) It is a party of 2, not 4 or more
B) You can probably be much more flexible than those with children
Good luck!!

Sometimes those early dinners are a good thing - gives you a chance to relax in the AC for an hour or two while the park outside is at its hottest and most crowded.

You should be able to get some decent ADR's still but may not for some of the more popular restaurants such as Coral Reef and Le Cellier. Other very good restaurants such as Boma, Ohanas, Les Chefs, Spoodles, Kona, Concourse etc. should have room. You just can't be picky on what night for each.

Great! Congratulations! Make sure you let us know what times/dates you get!

And Foxfire, those aren't all that bad. That's pretty good for just last week. I would probably be happy with just about anything though. I'm in WDW! Yea!
