Everytime I've tried to book a normal room at CSR, my options are so limited. Im trying to book a room Oct. 27th to Nov. 3rd and all thats available is a Junior Suite - King room. Come on, thats over 6 months away! Theres NO normal rooms available?! I had this same problem when I wanted to book a room here when we went this Feb. and also last year when my girlfriend and I were going in Sept. Is this just me having ridiculous bad luck or is this commonplace at CSR?

keep trying, perhaps use a TA, we have never had any difficulty getting rooms at CSR, we have been staying there every year since 1999.
have you tried being slightly flexible with your dates?, sometimes that helps.
Good luck,
Michelle in NY, we will be at CSR is September, 114 days and counting  , and we leave in 2 days for POFQ :woohoo: :woohoo:

CSR does huge convention business- they might hold out large blocks of rooms for that reason.

CSR has conventions often so the rooms book fast. I stayed there once and had no problem getting a room but there were a lot of convention people around every morning that IMO took away from the vacation feel

They hold many rooms for the conventions but release them back to the general public once the "book by" date passes. You have to be persistent and try calling versus the website.

I know what you mean DJ. I was looking into prices for the beg. of Nov. and it kept showing me options for a junior suite also. Frustrating!:sad2:

the same thing happened when I looked online for early october.
But I called and had no problem getting a room... I think the web site is not always giving you the same availability as calling.

DING DING DING!!! :) That's the winning answer in this thread.

The website is fine for rough checks.. but if you REALLY want something -- call.. and keep calling. I find CSR's availability is wonky till about 90 days away from the booking dates.

Canadian Guy,I like your word wonky! It makes me laugh.

why do people say that? Do you relize that CS is also a convention hotel never have I heard anything about there convention people. I think it's because it says it on the sign at CSR. Personally I feel the buses are less crowded because the convention people rarley use the buses during they day I think thats a perk:) But going off topic sorry. Keep trying

I agree and it is never mentioned as often about the others convention resorts at WDW like the Grand Floridian, the Contemporary, the Boardwalk, the Yacht & Beach Club and the Swan and Dolphin. All these are convention resorts.

Also, you never hear people talking about conventioneers :
running down the corridors, cheering
knocking people over,being rude,or obnoxious
sticking their tongues down each other's throats
cutting in lines
They do have the nerve to dress decently though!

I would just keep trying to get a room. Sometimes people cancel and a room will open up. I stayed at CSR last fall and I loved it! It was a really pretty resort and the buses were great! I never once had to stand...always had a seat. The only time I saw convention people was one morning I went to get some breakfast and the line to the Pepper Market was out the door and down the corridor.
I loved CSR and would not hesitate to stay there again. Good luck---I hope that a room becomes available to you!:wizard:

When I booked my vacation at the end of April, we wanted to stay at Coronado. Of course they were booked, so we choose Caribbean Beach. I kept checking each day for an opening and was let down. A few days later we switched to Port Orleans French Quarter. Though I still kept checking everyday for Coronado. Well finally it paid off and now we are booked for CSR!!:woohoo:

So keep checking, it is likely they will have openings. If it happened for us (consider ourselves unlucky most of the time :sad2: ) then it can happen to you :goodvibes

Did you try Expedia or Travelocity? Everytime I check CSR standard and waterview is available.

I just booked a room for two nights in December through AAA with a discounted rate. I you have a membership try them. If not it might be worth it to become a member.

I loved that it is a convention resort. The rooms are kept nicer, they have extra amenities, pool and buses are less crowded, and noise levels are low. I had trouble when booking this past November, and so picked POFQ instead. As soon as a room showed up, I transferred my ressie. Just keep trying!
