Fireworks at Rose & Crown

We've made TS reservations for Rose and Crown for 7:40 in August. It's a party of 7 so we have to wait for two tables. Question: Do you think I'm likely to get the patio during free dining or will everybody be asking for it and those spots gone by 7:40? Is the view from there really worth the stress of wondering if it will all "work" out?

Advice? Alternate suggestions?

Thanks! :)

From what I have read , you can't even request a patio. You get what they give you. :confused3

We just returned. We had 7:30 reservations and that's corrrect...you can't request patio seating but we had a window table inside. We didn't ask to go outside, but our waitress suggested it. We went to a nice area and watched Illuminations. The patio diners were off to both sides of the viewing area for inside guests. We had 7:30 reservations and were seated at 7:50. We finished dinner at 9:00 and returned to our table for dessert after Illuminations. The view and food were really great! Hope this helps.

Even if you're lucky enough to get the patio, your view might not be very good. We were seated on the patio, back next to the building under an awning. Didn't occur to us until the fireworks started that the awning would block our view of the fireworks. We saw the barge floating around just fine, but ended up standing at the railing to see the fireworks portion of the show. It worked out fine, but I was a little disappointed.

You cannot request patio when you make your reservation. When you check in at the podium is when you can request patio. However, you are about 40 minutes late to get seated on the patio, most people seated at or after 7:00 will be looking for slow service to stay for the duration.

Good luck they have great views there, but are hard to get. Got one few years ago loved it.

Even when you check in at the podium, you cannot wait for a patio table. If there isn't a patio table available when they are ready to seat you, you are out of luck. You cannot request to wait for a patio table.

No. There are all sorts of great places all around WS to watch Illuminations. If you get the patio view, great. But, if you don't, there are plenty of other great places to watch from.

Same thing happened to us-- our waiter suggested we watch the fireworks while he cleared the table and brought our dessert.
