I was skimming over some CS places as I have an opening or two and I think by day 8 I will throw up at the sight of one more burger! :lmao: Is there any really GOOD places that offer more than burgers??? Maybe choices so the kids can eat burgers till they moo and DH and I can have something else to choose from??

Most places have an option other than burgers.

We just tried Columbia Harbour House for the first time and it was fantastic! I had the tuna sandwich and DH had the fish and chicken basket.

Cosmic Rays has several options. We got the chicken and ribs meal (with mashed potatoes and carrots). It was very good, big enough to share and an excellent value on the DDP (for two meals the total was about $45).

Pecos Bills has a chicken wrap.

Epcot has MANY places (I love the fish and chips stand).

Most of the counter service places offer MUCH more than burgers. In fact, with the exception of Pecos Bill's, the CS places are not heavy on burgers.

In AK, you can get salmon for lunch at Tusker House (rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes also). You can get BBQ at the Flame Trip, and Pizza and Pizzafari.

At MK, you can get fried fish and chips and a vegetarian sandwich at Columbia Harbor House. Cosmic Ray's offers a wide variety including turkey wraps.

Epcot, of course, is extremely varied.

MGM--well, I don't care for the dining in this park, but again, many different choices.

we NEVER get burgers at Disney, Some of our favorite CS include

Tusker house at AK (The salmon was the best we had including TS)

Sunshine Seasons, Catina, Marakesh, Fish & Chips at Epcot

The Cajun selections at POFQ food court

Starring Rolls at MGM

In all my years I have always skip over Pinocciho's (sp?) Village Haus.
I tried it this past DEC. and I like it over my usual choice of Pecos Bill.
Pretty good pressed grilled sandwiches. It also has a unique cheese fries that has salad on top. It was very tasty.

Earl of Sandwich in DTD, Tangerine Cafe in Morocco, Sommerfest in Germany, Yorkshire Fish & Chips in UK, or Kringla Bakery in Norway.:woohoo:

I agree with the above posters. There are so many other options beyond burgers at the CS locations. The problem you might find is getting burgers for the kids. Most places do not offer a kids burger option. One of the places that does (weirdly enough) is Tangeriene Cafe in Morroco in EPCOT.

If your kids are "kids" for purposes of the dining plan (you didn't mention if you were going to be on it), they will have to choose from the kids menu. However, if they are over 10 on the DP or you don't have the plan, then of course you can choose whatever you want for them.

Our favorites are Columbia Harbor House (the fish/chicken strips are excellent), Cosmic Rays (love the wrap sandwich), Wolfgang Puck Express (in DTD, what a find and the food is excellent), Casey's (when you're just craving a hot dog).

You can certainly find a wide variety of options beyond the basic burger at the CS locations.

ETA: OMG...I've hit 1000 posts. A new milestone!!!

I NEVER eat burgers at WDW. There are just too many other options. I have found some great salads, wraps and sandwiches at ALL CS.

Are you looking at eating in a certain park? Maybe some of us could suggest some other options if you narrow your search down for us!

Looking back on it, I think the only place we ate burgers for CS was Pecos Bills (and DW had a big salad there, instead). Our other CS choices were Pepper Market, Columbia Harbor House, Tusker House, Kringla bakery in Norway and Yorkshire County fish & chips in England. There are lots of other non-burger CS options in every park and resort.

Wow, congrats!

To OP: Check out the menus at allears dot net. You can see that there is a lot of variety.

On my 2006 trip, I had to go out of my way on the last day of a week long trip to order a burger, as I had not had one all week long. Many, many great suggestions above in this respect. My favorites are Flame Tree and Tusker House at AK and Chefs de France and Tangierine Cafe at Epcot WS.

Go and preview each menu for the counter service locations and then check out photos of food from these places. Pictures are the best! You can pre plan what places you want to go to in advance. This takes a lot of stress of your party while at the park.

So many good choices...good luck.

In over 20 trips to WDW, I've only eaten 1 hamburger, and that was at a TS resturaunt, Sci Fi. PVH has an antipasto salad, Peco's Bills has a great jicama salad. Tangerine Cafe in Epcot has the shwarma platters, Sunshine Seasons has a great salad. In AK, Pizzafari has a hot deli sandwich (my favorite) and Tusker House has several options, including a turkey wrap and corn chowder. Back in Epcot, the Norway bakery has some unusual sandwiches. Oh, and over at OKW, Good's to Go has a great tuna sandwich on multigrain bread. Columbia Harbour House has fish and chips or something similar. The Mexican counter-serve has burritos, China's counter serve has egg rolls and fried rice. That's only some of the many non-hamburger options at WDW.

In our early WDW years we ate alot of burgers but we have not had one in years.

MK - Peco Bills has a great chilled chicken wrap. Cosmic Rays has an awesome chicken caesar salad and soup or rotisserie chicken.

EPCOT - China, Germany and Morocco are the must do CS for us. Sunshine Seasons is good for a cup of soup or chicken caesar salad. The dessert section is out of this world.

AK - We are huge fans of the BBQ at the Flame Tree.

MGM - Do not like any CS food here.

DTD - OMIGOD Wolfgang Pucks Express is amazing! The food is the best, the portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable.

WGP Express is one of our Favs!! We go at least twice every trip.

We really liked:

Pizzafari in Animal Kingdom

Pinocchio Village Haus in Magic Kingdom

In Mgm we really didnt like the counter service, we had backlot express and the food to us tasted old, but i've heard that cosmic rays is pretty good.

In Epcot there is Cantina in front of Mexico, fish and chips next to rose and crown, and we also liked Seasons.

So as u can see there really is a variety of CS that are not just burgers.

We did our Easter trip with no ADRs which meant we ate alot of CS meals.I agree with all the others that unless you want to eat a hamburger there is no reason to with all the great choices available. We actually enjoyed the CS meals and not being tied down by ADRs so much that we are thinking of doing future trips the same way.

The Pepper Market at CSR offers prime rib, ribeye steak and much, much more.. It is the best value for the DDP of any CS offereing.
