I love the castle cake with the white chocolate mickey. We are celebrating our daughters 18th birthday at CRT dinner:woohoo: .So from what i understand I phone CRT and order the castle cake which would cost 25$ or do I contact Disney Dining ?:confused3

The castle cake is NOT able to be ordered for Cinderellas Royal Table. You have to order it from the grand floridian, and be either staying there, or dining there. Also the one in the previous posters pic with the roses is NOT the 25 dollar one. The one she had was more closer to 200 dollars, and again needs to be ordered from Grand Floridian.

Will 1900 Park Fare keep your cake for you, if you are unable to finish it, and let you come back and pick it up? There will only be 4 of us, but I want to order DD7 the 8" cake so it can be personalized. We will be having dinner there, but will probably go back to MK. If they could keep it for us, we could come back before they close and pick it back up. Does anyone know if they do this, I have heard that CRT will. TIA!

When I asked this question when trying and I stress the word TRYING to work with the Grand Floridian bakery to order my DH a surprise cake for our honeymoon I asked if they could hold it for us since we would be going into Magic Kingdom, and if we could pick it up on our way out, and I was told no they would box it up, and it would hold in the park in other words they said no basically, and that it would be fine carrying it around the park. I know other places will hold the cake for you, but I found Grand Floridian not to be really friendly, or helpfull at all. I honestly felt nervous even calling them back cause they were a bit rude when I told them where we were staying when they asked. I ended up not ordering the cake from there for him. He did order me the mini castle cake, but they had issues, and we did not end up getting it served to us during the time he stated our breakfast would be, and this was a fault of the bakery which they stated was their fault, and they actually were not really helpfull correcting their mistake which ruined his surprise. I am not sure if I would go to the trouble again of trying to get a cake from them since they have changed their standards also, and the 8 inch can no longer be customized with them only the big cakes.

Other posters have reported still being able to customize the 8 inch cake. See post #1028 on the previous page for one example.

Not sure about other posters. I have heard 8 inches can be customized at some of the other places, but we just returned from our honeymoon feb 1-9, and was told by more then one person at Grand Floridian I would only be allowed chocolate/chocolate filling, or vanilla/vanilla filling. They told me I would need to order a cake that feeds starting at 16 people which I am assuming is the 10 inch which the price starts at 50 or a little more for the cake alone, then 25 dollars and up for each of the decorations. The cake I was wanting I was told which I was NOT trying to order a big elabrate cake. I wanted something with a pirates theme set around jack. he offered me next to nothing on ideas of what he could do, but did say the cake would end up costing 100 or so dollars. This was like I said this year feb 1-9.

I guess it just depends on the CM you get on any given day, unfortunately, but many have reported still being able to get whatever they want put on top of an 8 inch cake at several locations. I don't know about flavors though. I'm talking about having it personalized on top. They still do that. I just want folks to have the most current, correct information.

The poster I referred to in my previous post ordered from the GF over the phone on 4/407:

Original post can be found HERE and I've pasted it below:

Woohoo! Thanks for all the great photos everyone. I just ordered an 8 inch cake- vanilla cake white buttercream frosting and dark chocolate moose filling. $25 plus a white chocolate disk with Lightening McQueen and Mater for an extra $15 (could have had a free mickey but the boys are really into Cars right now) Being delivered to our room this Saturday !!! I'll post photos when I get back. Thanks again to everyone for the pictures and ideas!

I have to say that I have NO problems whatsoever ordering the 4 cakes for my daughter's birthday. I called CM's direct, GF private dining and then MK who ordered both cakes for H & V and CP. All 3 people where very friendly and nice.

When we checked in at each place, the hostess reminded me that we had a special cake coming.

My question is I wanted to get an idea of the size of the small castle cake. Maybe 4in across? Just big enough for two looks like to me.

Thank You
Sarah

If you mean the mini-castle cake that is $25 then I think its more like 2 inches. It's meant for 1 person but my 2 DD and I shared it after a big meal. It was more for the 'wow' effect than anything else.

I am aware of the post, and yes like I said they said I could have such and such from a company they get the decorations from for 25 dollars each was what they offered me NO I had NO problem paying that, but I have seen pics for a pirate cake on this thread from them, and have seen much nicer decorated cakes than what they were offering to do for me and I offered them a wide variant to work with (IE) I asked for a pirates cake with jack sparrow as the themeing I am not sure why they only offered me a tresure chest which he said they ordered from the west coast, but nothing else, so yes you can get things on the cake. When I said customize it you were NOT able to customize the flavors for an 8 inch as some have said you could. The baker, and 2 other cast members at grand floridian told me this. I was also told they had recently gotten stricter on cake orders at the bakers orders. As in the baker personally told them no more pick up's as they had many order, and just not show up. So yes you can get things on the cake such as pics or what not, but not flavor customs vanilla, and chocolate was it on the 8 inch. I guess I am just not happy with how put off they seemed about doing it. When they asked where we were staying AKL that's when they got a bit snippy to work with, and acted like they did not want to do it and rather me call AKL which they even stated.

They could be telling oyu to call AKL because I believe AKL no longer has ANY pastry chefs.

Has anyone every ordered a cake from DTD? We are going down in a few weeks with some students, and I would like to get them a cake. Neither of the boys has ever been to WDW before.

Thanks for any info!!

Most bakeries do not deliver to anywhere but their own resort.

Values do not have their own bakeries but some have reported seeing cakes in the food court fridge.

Deluxes have their own bakeries.

Sometimes a delivery can be arranged from the Boardwalk Bakery for those staying at Beach Club and Boardwalk and they would call their resort to try and arrange it.

You can go to the Boardwalk bakery and do a pick up though.

GF does not deliver and is not a 'real' bakery that you can go and visit and pick up a cake from.

Just updating the above info with my experience. It took a few calls, but the Beach / yacht club have a bakery and delivered a cake to our room in the BCV (with no problems).

Has anyone here ever ordered a cake from the Sci-Fi Dine-In, other than the 6"? We plan on eating there the night of my DHs birthday and want to do something special since the resort we're staying at does not offer cakes (Coronado Springs).

That is interesting. We are staying at BC next month and trying to figure out how/where/when we'd want a cake delivered.

Yes, I am taking the lazy way and asking another cake question instead of searching through this thread for the answer. We are celebrating my DD 5th bday with lunch at CRT and I'd like to order a cake. There will be 3 adults and 2 children. What/where is my best bet for ordering a cake, and how does one decide on what flavor/filling/design to have? TIA.

I would love to know where to see a white chocolate filled cake picture. I have looked and looked but possibly missed it. I ordered it with white frosting with pink writing with the 3 princesses. Has anyone seen that cake topper before?

What is the best time to call and order a cake? I just picked up the phone to call and realized that it is 6pm on a Friday night (dinenr rush time). I hung right up:confused3
