Hi all,
My husband was talking to a CM in March at Downtown Disney who mentioned that they are working on a Toy Story 3 for release 2008 - has anyone heard this before? I would be so happy!!!

Circle 7, an animation unit at Disney, was working on Toy Story 3. Buzz Lightyear was supposed to be recalled to Taiwan.

When Disney bought Pixar for about $7.5 billion in early 2006, Disney scrapped their version of Toy Story 3 at the request of Pixar's Ed Catmull and John Lasseter.

Now John Lasseter has the opportunity to make sure that the next (and presumably final) installment of Toy Story is done right. This movie won't appear in 2008. The CM at Downtown Disney does not have accurate information. 2010 is more likely.

Michael Arndt, who won the Oscar for the Little Miss Sunshine screenplay, has been hired to write the script, Hanks and Tim Allen are on board, and scheduled for 2009 release.

(and isn't that what all great rumors start with!) :lmao:

I heard that they're considering releasing Toy Story 3 in 3 D since Meet the Robinsons has done so well in 3D at the box office.

I'd be very surprised if they weren't considering it for all future animated releases (other than Rat).

Barbers2005- You really didn't miss much. The effects are hardly Mickey's Phillharmagic. Realistically nothing really pops out at you, some of the images are just a little advanced, nothing more

I thought the 3D effects were along the lines of like looking at a viewmaster. Some guy next to me was going nuts over it but maybe i'm just spoiled by the magic of disney 3D where everything jumps out at you and you get the smells and the sensations

I enjoyed seeing "Meet the Robinsons" in digital 3-D.

I'm glad that 3-D in "Meet the Robinsons" served to give depth to the world in which the movie took place -- but not for gimmick effects (except for one gimmick fairly early in the movie).
