We arrived on 3/29/07 and we were checked in very quickly...
We had the 50's area on floor 3 which was ok... needs to be refurbished I think... the room was not inviting...dark not cheery

My husband and I were at the tiki bar and found them to be very rude...
not friendly there at all...

I personally did not like the Pop..

I am sorry if you don't agree with me but this was my first time at Pop and It did not Pop for me

Wow - we were there on the weekend before that in the 50's section, 2nd floor, overlooking the bowling pin pool and it looked the same as it has since it opened - just a border around the top of the walls, the framed pic on the wall of the 50s, and the floor with the x design. We've stayed there 13 times since they opened (in 2003 I think) I don't think they are going to refurbish a hotel that opened so recently. I think it is colorful enough - I'm happy with the decor and I would love to have the modern 2 toned wood for my bedroom instead of the dark colonial stuff I still have.

Sorry you didn't like it - we had a great time! I hope you find a disney resort you enjoy the next time you are there. It just goes to show that everyone likes different things!

Gee I feel bad you didn't like it. We love it and have always been very well treated. Hopefully your next choice will be more pleasant.
I guess resorts are like anything else-ya never know what kind of people/service you'll run into.

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy Pop. I guess that's why Disney made so many different types of resorts. I hope you have a better experience next time.

They have a Tiki Bar?:confused3 I wish I knew where that was, I go to the Petals Pool Bar and they are very nice there. Rooms are always bright and cheery, and clean and I love Mousekeeping, they give you Towel Animals.:thumbsup2

I didn't know they had a Tiki Bar there either. Is that the one inside with the gift shop and the food court?

And as a BIG note to anyone following this thread, please, please, please do NOT think every single Mousekeeper at Pop Century gives towel animals. As with any resort, some do and some don't. Poohbear had one that did. We've had ones that didn't. I would not like someone going to Pop Century and thinking they were going to get towel animals every day and be disappointed. (no flames, poohbear, glad you got them!)

They were ALREADY there when I arrived, so either the Maid left them or the other guests that got them did!;) The Bar inside is the Lounge Bar! No Tiki's there!;)

The bar by the Hippy Dippy Pool is called Petals.

I can see how Pop wouldn't appeal to everyone. We stayed for 10 nights in December and had a great time. Check in was easy, we got a great room location (preferred, 70s, bldg 10, on the end by the stairway, 3rd floor). Even though it was a busy time of year (we left on Christmas Day), we never heard another soul near our room. If anyone was staying next door, above, below or even walked by our door, we never heard them once. The foodcourt did get crowded in the mornings, which we expected. We used our rental car most of the time but the buses to the MK were just fine.

We liked the atmosphere but I can see how it wouldn't be for everyone. That said, we'll probably try a different resort next time just to get a different experience.
