Pop or ASMovies?

Hello!

Last September we stayed at Pop and loved it, however, for our next trip, I thought we'd try All Star Movies. I was thinking that my kiddies might enjoy the movie theme better, but I've heard some negatives (long walks to bus, long bus route, loud, etc..). What do you think? Any suggestions for me?

I have stayed at both and think they are both much the same as far noise and buses. It is true the All Stars sometimes share buses. And ASMO is the last one picked up and dropped off when they do. But Pop is a huge resort so to me it all evens out. And they do not always share buses. Pop is newer and I do prefer the bathroom set up. The ASMO bathroom does not have that shelf that runs above the sink like they do at Pop. But in the end that is pretty minor. The All Stars also have a smaller tv (Music rooms that are rennovated have the 27" now, the rooms at Movies and Sports have 20"). But again, pretty minor since you don't usually watch that much tv on a WDW vacation anyway.

To me the values are about the theming. So if those movie icons appeal to your kids you will love it. We had 10 very enjoyable nights at ASMO, my daughter loved the 101 Dalmations and my son loves Mighty Ducks so they were enthralled. Our room was very clean, we had no issues. And I actually prefer the food courts at the All Stars over Pop's. I love Pop but always think its fun to experience a new resort. You cannot go wrong in the end!

I also didn't find ASMO any bigger or spread out than Pop. In fact I think its smaller so that means the walks to the buses shouldn't be any longer. If that worries you, you can always pay for preferred.

I say give it a try!

Having stayed at both and choosing myself based on food courts hehe I would choose movies. I say this because we had free dining and every day almost we would come back for a half day break and eat lunch at the foodcourt and it was just amazing. My favorite was the salad bar. We also had younger kids with us and one is a huge buzz freak so it was given that we would stay at movies. But we are also choosing movies again for this trip.

The buses some days really stunk. Some buses picking up would come and already be full. And then at night being the last stop was not always fun. But to us its so much easier than renting a car we dont mind.

Youll have a great time either way.

I stayed at Movies this past Feb. and really, I did not have any of the complaints listed here. I did not think it was noisy at all. I was even there for the National High School Cheerleading Championships. I would have expected a lot of noise, but really, it was a very nice stay. We stayed in the Dalmation building which is very close to the food court, lobby, etc.
The buses were great!
I was very pleased with my stay and am anxious to go back. Now, I just have to convince DH.

I've stayed at both and while we do prefer POP, we also liked the Movies. I say try it out, you'll never know. It's always fun to try something new.

We stayed at the Movies this spring break and we all loved it. We had little ones 6, 8, 9 and bigger ones 18, 17, 16. The adults also loved the big movie icons. We stayed in the mighty ducks building just because we went cheap with so many of us but if, no I mean when, I go back I would pick either the Toy Story building since we are big fans or maybe Fantasmic because it is so close to the pool. Also while we were there we had our own MK bus, to MK and leaving MK. Have a great time!

I am not sure if they all do. It was actually a salad bar during the day and at night it changed to other food options. It was awesome because you could pick your meat and then other things and they mixed them all together in a big bowl. And the portion was very large.

I stayed at POP last Sept and BF and I really loved it but we want to try something different next Sept and I think we are going to stay at AS Movies for the Disney movie theming. We really like the theming of the values so we will probably just bounce between them each time we go. I hope you enjoy your trip.

Just reread my own post and realize I need to clarify something! When I say they are the same with noise and buses what I meant was that I had no issues with either noise or buses at either Pop or ASMO! Nice, quiet stays at both of them. To block out the turbo toilet sound (and this works at the mods too), just close the bathroom door at night. Works like a charm! Never heard a flush all night long! Also want to add the beds were comfy at all the resorts. And one thing I do prefer at Movies is that the beds are not bolted to the floor like they are at Pop. Much nicer in my view since you can then store all the suitcases under the bed.
