We have always previously stayed at a mod or value. We would like to upgrade this year (10 nights in November) These are the options within our price range. We are traveling with our kids ages 4 thru 10. Please tell me why you chose or did not choose a particular hotel. Any tips, good or bad experiences would be appreciated.

We've stayed in all the places you mention, plus some. The trip my kids still, 15 years later, have the best memories of was the one in which we stayed at the Poly. And it wasn't even a lagoon view! That would be heaven.

Have you thought about renting a Disney Vacation Club room? Or maybe you have done that before?

It might be about the same cost as this and then you would have a kitchenette as well.

I voted for the Wilderness Lodge...cause I think it's great there! But...I think the Poly would also be a great choice. I actually just visited it for the first time today, and it's very tropical! If you want to be in the middle of all the action, pick the Poly...if you'd like to be a little more removed from the hustle and bustle (at least in my opinion) I'd pick the Wilderness Lodge.

We loved our experience at AKL.Watching the animals from our balcony was even more interesting than we had imagined. There are a lot of interesting activities available to do at the lodge for kids and adults. It is a beautiful resort.

:thumbsup2 I second the post above about renting DVC points especially for a 10 day stay. WOW! You're going to have fun!

You could break it up, BW 5 days and AK 5 days and get the best of both worlds!~

Other than that I voted BWV!~:)

I voted for the Poly, but wanted to qualify that by adding that LV at the Poly is roughly the same price as GV concierge, and I would choose that! You can sit in the lounge and watch Wishes and still have the benefits of the concierge level.

Dont you just HATE all the choices... WE DO!!! we finally decided on the BC for our stay... BUT... WL is our second choice...

I'm not one for changing resorts in the middle of the stay. Too many kids, too much stuff, too much hassle. I would want one resoert for the entire stay. We will be on DDP, so kitchenette is not really necessary. Ideas?

I love the Poly! It's on the monorail for MK (which is great with little kids) and I found it to be very peaceful at night (hard to believe there were scores of people there).

I think your decision will need to take in to account which parks you will visit the most. If you believe you will spend most of your time at MK then go for Poly (you can monorail over to Epcot too with just a short walk to the TTC). If you look to go to Epcot a lot, BWV may be best (and boat ride up to MGM).

The WL is beautiful but still a boat or bus ride to MK. AKL is also gorgeous but you'll need to use bus transportation or your own vehicle to get around.

Again, think of which park you will be visiting most often and the "stuff" that you will need to transport with the children, then decide.

I voted Poly only becasue it is on the monorail and I think with the ages of your children that can be a life saver.

If you were to choose a DVC resort you can rent points from a member who's home resort would be either at VWL or BWV. Usually the cost is around $10/pt. For November, 2007, all of the days are Choice Season except for the 11/21-23, and these are Magic Season costing more points per day stay. Using the Choice Season dates I looked at my DVC point calulator and came up with for a 10 day stay at....

I have never stayed at a Deluxe before....so I can't speak from personal experience....however I would choose the AKL because I think kids at that age or any age actually would really enjoy seeing the animals, I know I would! :goodvibes

I agree with this poster. I"ve never stayed at a Deluxe (BF has and wasn't impressed. He loves the theming of the values vs. the Deluxes) but the idea of looking out my window to see animals would be heaven for me. I am a zoo/animal freak so that would make my trip. I'm sure your kids would think it was cool as well.

I looked into this, but the reception I got on the DVC boards wasn't all that friendly. A lot of stuff about not being "members" and "members" disliking those who rent out their points and those who use points they rented from others. I think it would be better just to stay at a hotel.

I voted for the POLY! It has always been a favorite of mine since I was a child and first stayed there in the 70's!! Though my kids love AK-so in my house it is a 50-50 split!! Good luck and have a great trip!!!

I voted for BWV because as others have said you could rent DVC points, the pool is awesome (Your kids will LOVE It,) and the location can't be beat. I noticed your ages and you do have some little ones, so MGM by boat and Epcot, (It's actually faster to walk though,) is awesome! Plus, there's always something happening at the BW area. We love it there!!!

Ditto!!!! Staying in the savanah view room with the bunks was AWeSOME!!!! I had a hard time leaving our balcony every morning. Truly an awesome experience.
