We are staying at Pop May 30-June 4. I have heard a lot about the 60s & 70s being the ideal rooms. Should I call ahead with a room preference or do you just take what you get when arriving?:confused3

You can actually pay for a prefered room. That'll get you closer to the bus stop, food court, etc. It's very worth it for us to pay that small fee. After walking all day through the parks, once we get to the resort, we are just ready to be in our room! We were in building 1 last summer and it was WONDERFUL!

Preferred room loctions are in the 50's and 60's buildings. The 70's are the next best option since they're pretty close to the bus pick/drop off area. If you decide to call ahead and request a preferred location and pay the difference, the 60's buildings are closer to the food court and office. They are directly behind the food court and surround the Hippy Dippy pool. If you exit the food court from the back exit, the 60's are directly in front of you, the 50's are to your right and the 70's are to your left. The 80's and 90's are past the 70's further to your left.

Hippy Dippy in the 60's section is the main pool. My kids like the bowling pin shaped pool in the 50's section because it's less crowded. We've not even been to the other pool, so I don't know about that one. If you're interested, the poolside bar is at the Hippy Dippy pool.

Preferred rooms are in the 50's, 60's AND 70's bldgs. See link. Yellow lines designate the preferred rooms. There are many standard rooms that are also great locations that I would consider as good as preferred. But then there are many out in timbucktoo land (like the 80's and 90's bldgs) that I would not like to have to walk to. HTH

You're right. I stayed in the 70's in March and September 2006, and it wasn't a preferred location then. I guess they've changed it since then.
