How far in advance can you make ADRs? Perhaps more importantly, how necessary are they for a mid-week, mid-September trip (especially for Blue Bayou and a Character Breakfast)? Don't want to get locked out (as has happened to us at WDW), but I hate trying to plan too far out in advance.

Thanks!

You must have ADR's for Blue Bayou, they don't take walk up reservations. But you don't have to make them too far in advance, especiall at that time. A couple of weeks should be fine.

You can make them up to 60 days out. I would recomend making them for any meals that are really important to you. Its better to have them and not need them, then want them and not have them!

yes exactly, I would 100% make sure that rervations are made. Like it was said, they take reservations prior 60 days. If I were you I would figure out where I want to eat and then book it to make sure I got what time slots I wanted. I make mine a month and a week in advance and I dont have a problems. But since Aug is a peak time, I definately would figure out possible eateries and not hold back making resies as soon as it is possible. Just remember as you get closer to your trip, to call back to make sure the reservations are still booked.

Just a clarification on the 60 day thing. The policy is 60 days out, but any dining cast member will tell you it's actually that you can call on the number day this month that you want 2 months out even though that might put it at 61 or 62 days. So, if you wanted a ressie on Sept 12, you could call on July 12.

Mid-September shouldn't be too difficult to get what you want, even just a week before. I've even been there on weekends and decided I wanted a table service, called from my cell phone about 10am and have been able to get a lunch seating. Never tried for Blue Bayou that way, but have gotten in to character meals and other table service same day.

I had heard this as well, but when I called they had me call back the following day so that it was inside the 60 days.

Is this just for peak times? When I visited in February, I walked up to the Blue Bayou a little before noon and made a dinner reservation for 4:30pm that same day.

I just called on March 18 and booked a May 18 ressie. I had called on March 15 just to check again on the policy and was told the same thing. To call on the day number, not the 60 day mark. :confused3

I have been told both. So I am guessing that they either changed policy recently, or that it all just depends on who you talk to/who is in charge.

I wouldn't risk it because it can get booked up. When we were there for lunch last week (Spring Break, but not as busy as it can get), walk ups were being told that 9:00 p.m. the following night was the earliest they could get a seating unless they wanted to wait for no shows.
