How do I get RideMax to account for my EE day? I'd like to have EE planned so I can ride the rides other than Fantasyland after 9am.

Since it is DL policy to not keep the EE rides constant every day, RideMax has decided to not create itineraries for EE. If you look in their Help system they explain what your priority should be for rides during EE. In reality the EE rides are pretty constant, but DL has always maintained there are no "regular" EE rides.

I guess I can understand why, but it just seems weird that there are no guarantees on what rides will be open. At WDW, there are certain rides that will always be open for Extra Magic Hours.

Here's what I am planning to do - using their order to do EE rides and then using them starting at park open. . . . hopefully already being in the park will help get the earliest FP's

I think during EE the most important two things to do first, are Peter Pan and then Dumbo in that order. Then usually the Matterhorn. Then after that I head to Alice in Wonderland and Toad. I do not typically go into Tomorrowland for EE since the rides that are open have fastpass for the most part. Even during EE time, Peter Pan will have a 20 minute line within about 20 minutes and then it just goes from there. Same with Dumbo. But I always do Peter Pan first then Dumbo. If I have more than one EE day I will do the Matterhorn first the next time. And usually get to ride it as many as five or six times with little to no line when I do that one first.

Not quite sure what you have done...but here is what I did last time. During EE Days I only selected rides not listed on EE. I know that Hydroguy said they're not always constant, but I think that could happen anywhere if it were to close for unseen problems. You can be sure that Fantasyland, SpaceM and Buzzlighyear will be early opening. I think even StarTours. I should go look at my last schedule from them to find out for sure. So that pretty much leaves the rest of DL to punch in selected rides. I've even selected to ride attractions more than once. On days when there is no EE, select everything you want to see. You can even keep changing your itinerary, and will give back different schedules. I've also learned to print all schedules, so I can pick out my favorite one. I love Ridemax!

What rides at DLR are so similar to WDW that they might be worth skipping for time's sake? I was thinking of skipping Peter Pan, Dumbo, and Snow White.

However, later in the day, we wanted to do Pirates since it is better at DL than at WDW.

Don't skip Pirates for sure!!!!! Most people will ride PP because it's such a favorite, but if you don't mind skipping it... sounds fine. I don't remember any difference between the two. Maybe others do?

Amy is a true vet of both resorts, so her opinion here is seriously worth more than mine when comparing DLR rides to WDW. I thought the PP at MK was a lot different from DL's. I liked both, and might have liked MK's better except PP at DL holds such nostalgia for me.

The Mad Tea Party at DL is very much the same as MK, but without a roof it feels different and is worth doing. IASW looks pretty much the same inside, but DL has a very detailed exterior and so you should do that at DL. Other rides in Fantasyland at DL are unique and you should try and ride them: Alice in Wonderland, Mr. Toad and StorybookLand Canal Boats.

Buzz Lightyear is also similar, but the nice thing about the guns at DL is that they detach from the vehicle so they are easier to shoot.

Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mtn RR, Haunted Mansion and Splash Mtn are different enough that they are worth doing. Space Mtn at DL is much better and you should do that for sure.

Star Tours is the same as MGM and can be skipped.

At DCA Tower Of Terror is not random as at MGM, but is worth doing at least once because it does have some different effects than MGM.

Soarin Over California is the same ride as at Epcot, but the building exterior in Condor Flats and queue area has a much more aviation-like feeling which makes the ride seem better IMO.

Grizzly River Run is better than Kali at AK, and is worth doing. It's Tough To Be a Bug is the same as AK and can be skipped. Turtle Talk With Crush is the same as Epcot, but you know how each show is different so it may be worth your time. Plus TTwC is located in the DCA Animation Studios which does not have a counterpart anywhere at WDW and is worth the time.

I totally agree with Hydroguy's summation! I just pretty much was locked into thinking only about EE rides in Fantasyland. And I love Peter Pan at DL for the sentimental value too. Its just such a slow loader because not only do they not have fp at DL's but the loading is different so it takes longer for the line to move. The DL version has a better volcano thing than the one at MK which is another thing I like. Oh and Small World does have some subtle differences on the inside and the DL version does not have that end ferris wheel scene (which for some reason my daughter really misses at DL) but the outer exterior at DL's is just beautiful. And at night during Remember, they project some very cool affects on the IASW exterior. I always have to see Remember back there at least once and in fact in some ways prefer to see it back there even though you miss a lot of the show (and a lot of the crowds). Another thing you must do is see the Aladdin show at DCA. Really and truly the live shows at Disneyland are superior to WDW's maybe because they have all those actors nearby to cast from! Also, I do not know if you like doing the Animations Building but we prefer the one at DCA since you don't have to sit through that preshow/class (or whatever it is) thing. Its easier to just take a quick look if thats all you have time for. Its also a nice place to sit and relax on a hot day while you wait for your TOT fastpass to come up. Which brings up another point, TOT at DCA is different and not as good as MGM's but its still worth doing. And definitely ride CA Screamin. Basically I like to do all the rides I can even if they are similar but if you are short on time that list Hydroguy gave you will help you prioritize and see the things you won't be seeing at WDW. Have a great trip!

Oh and remember that the DCA fastpass machines are not linked to the fastpass machines at DL. So you can hold fp's for both parks at the same time. And for that matter the fp machine at Roger Rabbits Cartoon Spin is not linked to any fp machines at DL and Grizzly River Run's fastpass machine is the same. And speaking of Roger Rabbit, ride that ride, its very fun (and I have seen the movie but I still like it). In fact Toontown at DL is much better and worth checking out.

I also agree that Soarin is worth riding for the cool que alone. And if you can single rider it you will not need a fp but still get on pretty quickly.

Okay that was all rambling but I am scrambling to make an appointment, I should never go on the dis when I have someplace to be!

I agree with the assessment above. We were at DL 2 weeks ago & followed much of the advice above. I posted a thread "Critique of EE" a week or so ago which (of course) had a lot of discussion on EE. (since I'm technologically challenged, i don't know how to "link" posts or threads.

Following the advice of many of the above posters, we did the following (in order) during EE:

Peter Pan
Dumbo
Matterhorn - (But...we should have gotten in line on the other (far) side...lost a couple min.)
Alice
Mr. Toad
Snow White
Pinochio
Carousel

THE ABOVE 8 RIDES TOOK 65 MINUTES...& we went to Tomorrowland to get FP at Space after the above.

Yes, Dumbo, Peter Pan & Snow White are the same (or similar) to WDW...but I'd ride them once a month if I can ride them (with no lines) during EE (as described above).

Also, regarding Jungle ride, HM & Pirates, for us they were a "walk on" during the parade.
