I'm thinking of purchasing 3 or 4 day Park Hopper passes from mousesavers.com for my upcoming LA Disneyland trip.

I'm wondering if anyone has any great experiences with any other online places that have awesome deals on hopper passes?

Thanks alot!

Carolyn

getawaytoday.com

I cant say enough about this company. I know others on this board have gone through them as well. FANTASTIC service, decent prices and fast delivery.

:thumbsup2

Thanks for the link and info!

I won't be traveling until August. When is a good time to get the Hoppers passes? Would it be cheaper to purchase them closer to my vacation date?

Please excuse my newbie questions, first time planning my trip to Disneyland and I'm overwhelmed with information and resources!:confused3

:) No thats ok, ask away. What you can do with getawaytoday is that you can type in the dates that you are going on their website, and it will bring up a quote as to what the ticket prices are going to be. Its great, I got my tickets about a month and a half before I left, and then went to the ticket booth at DL with the confirmation slip that getawaytoday sent me and they gave me my hoppers right there at the park. I would book them around the end of june or early july just to be on the safe side. But my tickets came within 9 days. It was fabulous. The company even called me to see if I received them. I was so thrilled. Im going to Disneyland in June and I am DEFINATLY going to be booking my park hoppers with them again.

I'm from Vancouver, Canada... so I hope there'd be no problems with them mailing the passes to me (never bought a disney ticket/pass online before so :confused3 )

Also, I've been doing alot of reading on this board. Can you (or anyone) tell me what is a FastPass?

Thanks again!

Im from the Lower Mainland area too :goodvibes So there shouldnt be any problem. I actually just called them up and booked them over the phone. It was really simple that way.

As for fast passes, just remember not all rides have fast passes, but fast passes are tickets that you can get at certain rides dispensing machines such as (Space mountain, Splash Mountain, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, Soarin, TOT, etc)

They are basically a reservation to come back later and cut to near the head of the line. So you go to say the Haunted Mansion find the dispensing machine infront of it, and it gives you a ticket to come back within the next few hours to ride. That way you can cut to the front of the line insted of waiting for hours. Its a fantastic system.

getawaytoday is actually the same price as ordering directly through disney in advance. So no real savings there. Although I will agree about their great customer service.

As far as a discounted rate, Ares is probably one of the cheapest. www.arestravel.com And even then you're only saving a few dollars on top of disney's advanced purchase prices.

mystic_path: Hey cool, I didn't notice you're also from BC!

Thanks for the info and tips, it's much appreciated :thumbsup2

I'm sure I'll be back with many more questions as I plan my August trip!

Mom2micayla:

I've been checking out some hotel and passes package from getawaytoday, but I'll also look nto disney direct and Ares Travel as well. Thanks :)

Do you guys know if it's cheaper to book hotels and passes separately from different sources, or through one source (e.g. getawaytoday) ? I notice getawaytoday is abit cheaper in terms of packages, than if I were to purchase everything separately.

I've never booked a whole package through Ares so I can't honestly say if they are cheaper than getawaytoday. But as far as just basic tickets, they are cheaper through Ares. I've heard positive things about Ares & I know a lot of Dis'ers have used them so I'm assuming they are good.

I did book a DLR vacation package with getaway last year and had a lot of success with them. Very reasonable rates, no hotel taxes (which saves 15% right there! :) ) and great customer service. I was very happy with them.

As far as booked a package vs. everything individually, I think it totally depends. Last last 4 trips I've been on I've booked everything seperately. Mostly b/c I wanted a particular hotel that getawaytoday doesn't offer and b/c we already had annual passes. Our passes have expired now but I'm still booking everything seperately because of the hotel I want. I've gotten really spoiled and will only stay at a hotel within walking distance. A lot of getaway's hotels aren't that close and you have to take ART. Not a big deal at all if you're not traveling with kids/strollers, but we have 4 kids so it's too much of a pain in the rear to collapse, load, unload, etc 2 strollers and all our junk. :)

As to buying tickets, you can do it at any time. Just make sure that since you're going in Aug. that you get the regular 2007 tickets and not the "everyone plays for the kids price" ones, since they expire next month.

And a little tip on the fastpasses. If you get one and it says you can use it from, let's say, noon-1, if you accidentally are too busy to use it then it can be used after the times that it says. So if you realize you've missed that hour window, no big deal! Just go to the ride later in the day. They'll let in line as long as it's from the starting time of your return until the park closes. :goodvibes A lot of people don't realize that. Also, fast passes are hooked onto a system. So if you're ticket is for Space Mountain and can be used from noon-1, you can't get another fast pass ticket until then for another ride. The only exception is the Roger Rabbit ride in Toon Town. That one is the only ride that's not linked to the sytem. :) So you can get one for that ride even if your time hasn't came for another existing fastpass. Hope that's not too confusing. :rotfl:

OH ok, so I just checked out Ares travel for ticket prices and they are decent. I go with getawaytoday just cause im getting an 8 day hopper (Getaway has up to 8 day hoppers) and it looks like ares doesnt have anything over a 5 day. So it depends on how long you are going to be in the park. As for packages, im sorry I cant help you there.

Wow, those are some great tips and resources! Thank you to you both for being so helpful :)

I think I'm going to spend the next while looking around getawaytoday and ares, and other online vendors and see if there are great differences between prices. Although I do have to say from what I see so far, the getawaytoday packages look very attractive!

We bought hopper tix thru Ares, and yes, they are cheaper than the DLR advance tix. Everything happened with Ares as advertised and I would buy through them again.

Oh I wanted to add one last thing. I would also suggest going to your local travel agents because they each have different packages with hoppers, or they sell hoppers seperately as well.

As for tickets, I think you can get them at the Disney stores, but they are really expensive. I wouldnt recommend getting hoppers there.

I'm no expert on where the *best* place to buy is from, since we're relative Disney newbies :goodvibes and it sounds like you've been given lots of good advice already. But if price is your highest concern, I know Expedia.com sells the Hopper passes at the discounted advance purchase price, plus if you go thru eBates you get a like 2 or 3% rebate back on your purchase too. It's not a ton, but depending on how much you're spending, sometimes every little bit can count.
