Early Entry Location

I'll be going to Disneyland the week of 4/8 and staying at the Disneyland Hotel. Although my documents say that I get one early entry, it's my understanding that since I'm staying at the Disneyland Hotel, I can get early entry each day (Mon, Tue, Thur and Sat). Is this true?

Also, where is the entry location, would it be through the main entrance or would the Monorail be running early on those days?

I'm really looking forward to our trip...It's our 4th year in a row with our DD (she's 6 now)

If you go to the DL entrance, EE is thru the regular DL gates. About half the gates are open for EE.

I understand that after EE begins and people are let in they reduce the gates so that regular entrance people can get in line and wait for regular park hours.

I have never done EE by way of the monorail, so others here can better answer that question. My understanding is that you can use the monorail, but will get dropped in Tomorrowland a bit after EE begins and thus lose some of the EE hour. If it were me I would trust my feet and just go to EE thru the regular EE gate. That way you know when you will be let in.

And yes, if you are at the DLH you can use EE on each day it is offered (M/T/Th/Sat).

Yes, the monorail will be running but it will not leave the station until the start of EE. So Hydroguy is right, you will lose some park time by doing this. Also the monorail line can be quite long first thing in the morning. I find it easier to walk up DTD (about 10 minutes) to the main gates and enter that way in the morning, EE or not. I do like to take the monorail back to the DLH midday for a break and then sometimes ride it back later. But first thing in the morning and at park closing (or right after the fireworks are over) I find the lines too long to mess with taking the monorail. Do know that as an onsite guest, there is a separate boarding line to get on the monorail at the Tomorrowland Station. So be sure and lookf for that, it can save some wait time!

You will love the DLH!

P.S. Make sure you take your room charge slip (not to be confused with your room key) to Early Entry. They will need to verify that you are staying onsite and check the number of guests on the slip to the number of guests you are getting in for Early Entry. It is a slip of paper they give you and has charging privilidges attached to it (as long as you want that and give them a cc guarantee at check in) as well as proof that you are an onsite guest. They often also ask for this slip of paper to board the monorail in the onsite guest line.

Amy & Dan and HydroGuy....this is really great inside info. (maybe HydroGuy should add this to his list of trusty links :) ).

I would think anyone staying "on-site" would be (or should be) asking about this. :thumbsup2

The Monorail is an atraction and will open when the park opens. It is not part of early entry. You will need to head to the main gate for EE.

I have a question I have a 3 day hopper ticket, and from what i understand i can use it on thursday for my one EE. My ticket looks like a regular paper ticket. How do they know when my EE is used up? Do I need to bring any other identification with my ticket. Like the paper stuff it came with?? No right?

They will stamp the ticket when you use the EE - no other info is required.

Well I have taken the monorail during Early Entry but maybe they have changed things. When I did this I was sorry since it was long line and we had to wait for the second or even third monorail. It won't begin running until Early Entry officially begins however (if it even still does this). This was last summer.

We went Feb 9-11 and used the monorail for EE. We were able to board the monorail around 7:45 am (the park opened at 8 am) and there were a few people in the park when we arrived (a few minutes before 8 am)

thanks for the replies everybody! We'll probably go through the main gate...now if I can only get my wife out of bed early enough. We've stayed at the DLH the previous 3 years and never took advantage of the EE...just can't get my wife ready. DD is up and ready to go like me. Maybe we'll just have to leave her behind and let her catch up with us later!
