i know that "kungaloosh" is a greeting, salute, toast, general "term" at the adventurer's club at PI and that it's also a drink that contains rum and blackberry brandy. does anyone know how much one of the drinks costs? also, has anyone ever seen a picture of it around here? just curious about it! thanks! and kungaloosh to you and yours!

I think it costs about 7 to 8 bucks now, plus tip for the server or bartender. Haven't ordered one in a long time.

Yep, that's about right from what I remember last Dec. And there was no alcohol to be found in it from what I could tell. It was definitely just an over-priced slushee. Good tasting, but still just a slushee!

About $8 seems right, if memory serves - but I didn't like mine at all! Tasted like frozen cough syrup, I threw half of it out. *and that was an expensive half!*

Actually, there is plenty of liquor in it (1/2 a cup), but it is blended with copious mixers to not taste alcohol-y.

Here is a recipe:

1 cup Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
1/4 cup blackberry brandy

Wow, a restaurant board question I actually know the answer to! :)

I think they're still $8. Here's the only pic I could find in my files:

After a couple of Kungalooshes, it is highly amusing to pretend they came out of the vending machine. Or at least was at the time ;)

But...but...don't they come in a monkeynut?

*perplexed and wanting a mokeynut*

They never came in the Monkey Nuts. However, early on if you bought an AC Membership you received a kungaloosh in a souvenier canteen. And if you bring back the canteen they will refill it for you at a slightly discounted price.

oh, my! monkey nuts???? that sounds strangely perverted.

This is a monkey nut.

Despite the many possible interpretations of the name, it is merely a coconut carved in the shape of a monkey head, and you could indeed get your kungaloosh in one for a time (if you paid extra to get one). They're no longer available at the AC. There were a few funny moments when the "regular members" attempted to market them to the audience, er, visiting members, which is apparently where the term "monkey nut" came from.

Bummer, dude! In 2004 they still had monkeynuts. I wanted one on my next trip. WAH!

I did e-mail Disney when I got back from this trip requesting that they start selling some Adv Club stuff! Besides the Monkey Nut, there used to be a monkey head mug (Monkey head you hold my drink! You are really neat I think!), and a Yakoose head mug. Now there doesn't seem to be anything! I'm really surprised that they're missing this opportunity to take our money! :)

The monkey nuts had absolutely nothing from the club on them. You'll notice that across the front of the one I pictured are the words "have fun" and I know someone who has what's probably the same thing on theirs, but apparently it's written in Klingon because you sure can't read it.

They sold those things at the Polynesian and Typhoon Lagoon for awhile, too.

Except for the pin that came out recently, nothing club specific has been sold since they ran out of yakoose heads.
