Fountainview in Epcot - open or closed?

I read that Fountainview (one of the only places in Future World that has breakfast stuff) would be closed for a while for the refurb of the meet & greet nearby. Then yesterday someone told me that they were just at WDW, and Fountainview has been closed for about 2 months. Any idea when it will reopen? We are trying to figure out what to do for breakfast -- mainly COFFEE -- one morning :)

Fountainview was closed when we were there two weeks ago. I do not know when they plan to reopen. No work was in progress when we were there. All of the chairs were up.

Before 11:00 AM, the Sunshine Food Fair in the Land serves breakfast. They have a breakfast sandwich like the one Fountainview had, but I haven't tried it yet. They also have a breakfast platter among other bakery goods. The Electric Umbrella no longer serves breakfast.

If you can wait until after 11:00 AM, you can get School bread at the Kringla Bakery in Norway. That's what my DW and I shared for breakfast one day and really enjoyed it. :) There are also some espresso kiosks where you can get pastries and coffee in the World Showcase.

We will be there in late May. I hope FV Cafe reopens by then. Are you going sooner?

I hope they reopen soon! DH and I  to eat there for breakfast. It just isn't Disney to me without the fruit croissant in the morning....we will be there April 27th.....

Thanks for the info. We are going May 13 - May 19. We'll be at Epcot the day before, too, so we can see if FV is open then...otherwise we might grab a little something (and COFFEE ) to tide us over at the Pop until WS opens at 11. Looking forward to trying school bread, so many people love it. What exactly is it like? And then there's that bakery in France... :goodvibes

be aware that Sunshine Seasons at the Land recently switched out their Nestle coffee machine and the lattes are now made with powdered products containing corn syrup as one of the main ingredients. It comes in a very large cup and is very sweet.

The CMs are upset as they receive many many complaints - please voice your displeasure if you don't like it to a manager or via email, as they need the feedback in order to change.

There is a non-WDW run coffee bar near Test Track, which serves real coffee and espresso beverages.

Thank you for the warning, bavaria -- I will definitely look for that coffee bar near Test Track. Hey, caffeine and a speedy car, what a great combo first thing in the morning! ;)

School bread is a round slightly sweet dough filled with a deliciouse vanilla custard. The top has a delicious icing covered with coconut and a dollop of the custard that is used as filling. I haven't decided yet which custard is best - the one in school bread or the one filling the napoleon at the bakery in France. ;)

Thanks, that's the first description I've read! Hmmm...DH doesn't like custard...and that means...I won't have to share!!! :rotfl2: Naw, even though he doesn't like custard, he'll probably try a bite. He used to think he didn't like creme brulee until I talked him into trying a bite of mine...ah well, I don't really mind sharing. If we share, we can try a lot more things! :goodvibes

My DW and I share this treat all the time. It's not easy to eat one by yourself, but I have done it once so it's not impossible. ;)

This was going to be my suggestion, if you were only looking for coffee. I don't ride Test Track, so I try to juice myself up to match my spazzed-out "just off the ride" family!
