I was so surprised today when I made my ADR's for my late August trip. On my last night, I was going to try the Concourse Steakhouse. The CM suggested that I go to Le Cellier instead. I think that was decent of her to recommend Le Cellier. However, since I've eaten there twice in the last year, I declined.

Then the CM basically implied that the Councourse was not good and don't bother. Needless to say, I did not make an ADR there. I switched my last ADR to Ohana, which I know is a sure thing.

It just completely surprised me, so I thought I'd share.

BTW - making my ADR's 180 days in advance got me a great time (6pm)for the Fantasmic Dinner pckg at Mama Melrose.

I have been to Concourse Steakhouse twice (or is it three times?) in the past two years, and I love love LOVE it. I can't believe the CM would try to dissuade you from something that YOU want and didn't leave you to your own opinion! Everyone has different tastes, that's why there are so many different places to eat in WDW. My dad was very impressed with Concourse Steakhouse, it was his favorite place we ate in 10 days at WDW.

My family & I have had dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse on two seperate vacations at WDW. Both times we both enjoyed eating there & what we had to eat. Why she told you not to eat there is something no one but the Cast Member can answer, however it sounds weird for a Cast Member not to recommend eating at a specific restaurant in WDW.

Maybe discouragement comes from the rumors that it is going to close down. There is some concern on another thread that there are going to be many adr's for after the restaurant closes.

I have had the cm's tell me they liked or didn't like the restaurant I was booking I dont pay a whole lot of attention to it since I know that is something I'll have decide for myself. We liked Concourse steakhouse.

We ate there last May and had Buffalo! (not on the written menu - a special). It was very good! I was thrilled to try something I had never had.

I used to be a strong supporter of the Concourse but in the past few years I think that it has gone severely downhill in service, food quality, and upkeep of the restaurant.

I have had CMs offer up restaurant suggestions before, sometimes I take them up on it, sometimes I don't.

I suspect that the CM was offering Le Cellier as it is quite popular, and she was trying to be helpful.

Whenever the Concourse Steakhouse is going to close I am sure the Cast Members who work at the 407-WDW-Dinning number will be told when not to make any ADR's there. Maybe the CM who made the ADR's for the OP knows something we don't, however until WDW announces when the Concourse Steakhouse will close & move to the 1st floor then become the Waive, it will be opened until further notice.

Keep in mind, there's a really good chance the CM with whom you make your reservation has never eaten at a particular restaurant. Eat where YOU choose - based on availability, of course :)

We love concourse. Dh loves the wings there. We were talking about where we ate on our last trip and everyone wants to eat at concourse and noone wanted Lecellier.

We ate at Concourse for the first time this last trip couple of weeks ago & enjoyed it. Not the best meal of the trip, but enjoyable (I think, it was our last meal, last night and I think I was in a food coma from the DDP by that point & didn't eat too much!) However, I think I read in another thread on here a few days ago that someone was told Concourse would be closing in August. So, that might be why CM discouraged you. Maybe the closing date isn't a hard date yet but they are being careful w/scheduling ADR's in case or something. Or the date or wanted is the day before or after the scheduled close date or something?????

Our meal at the Concourse Steakhouse was better than a kick in the head, but pretty-much undistinguished. I reminded me of eating at a Howard Johnson's in a way, complete with the annoying ruckus coming from the next room (Chef Mickey's).

I liked our meal there. I'm assuming they have heard the rumor that it is closing and that's why they are discouraging it.

I got this time for the same restaurant as well

We really enjoyed our meal at Concourse Steakhouse last year. I have heard the child's steak is minute now though there.

I was surprised that the CM discouraged me from this ADR. She said she had a terrible meal there. It was just so strange that I decided to book Ohana's instead. I did want to try Concourse after hearing some good reviews here. She also suggested Raglan Rd for DTD. I may still change. Glad to here so many people enjoyed Concourse.

I would put Raglan Road FAR ahead of both Concourse and O'hana, but I know that many will disagree with me.

Raglan Road is consistently excellent service, food quality, value, and seasonal menu changes. It's not run by Disney, but sets a high standard that I wish all WDW restaurants could achieve.
