Goofy pool

Ok I've heard about the mickey pool getting shut down frequently for cleanings, does this also happen a lot with the goofy pool?

I have never heard of it closing for cleanings, but it does close for deck parties, such as the Sail away party and the Pirate Night Party.

It was closed once that I know about on our last cruise, some kid vomited in there.

There was a small child on our May cruise that I watched throw up chunks of carrots and his parents just took him out and left (he looked to be about 2.... I'm not even sure he was potty trained). I was sitting near one of the hot tubs while my boys were in the hot tub and saw the carrot boy's dad lift him out as he was getting sick. I guess no one else saw the boy throw up because they all stayed in it. Less than a minute later, when I saw a girl throw a carrot outside of the pool, I left to find a staff member to report it to and they closed the pool to drain it and clean it.

When we were on our cruise I only saw the Goofy pool closed during the parties.

Now, the Mickey pool on the other hand, had to be closed twice to be cleaned during our cruise. Remember, there are lots of little ones swimming here and sometimes accidents happen!!

When I was an the Wonder, my DD3 spent pretty much all day in the Mickey pool and slide. It only got closed twice due to waves. The water was flying out of the pool. It was always opened again within a half an hour though. I was actually shocked that I didn't see any kids have accidents.

Oh boy!! On our cruise it seemed as if the Mickey pool was closed more than it was open. I dont know if it was just the keen observations of the staff that made them close it or if people were reporting "accidents" but it sure needed to be cleaned out alot!! The Goofy pool however never closed for cleaning.

Just got off the 2/10-2/17 Western. We didn't notice either the Mickey or Goofy Pool closed for cleaning the whole week. We could have missed something but we have a 5 yr old and 8 yr old who spent a fair amount of time swimming and it wasn't ever closed when they wanted to swim.

On the sea day in December the Mickey pool closed due to an accident. Within 15 minutes there was another accident at the Goofy pool. It took forever for both pools to be cleaned. We were a bit frustrated that the kids had no where to swim.

I chatted with a lifeguard about how nonpotty trained kids get in the pools. He said that they are not allowed to enforce the policy. They can tell a parent once that the kid is not allowed, but often the parents will ignore them or worse rip a diaper off and throw their kid in with nothing.

I'm confused as to why the CM's are not allowed to enforce this policy. I thought it was a maritime rule and did not apply just to Disney. If that is correct wouldn't it be against the 'law' to NOT enforce it? Sorry, but I have no tolerance for people who don't obey the rules and have no consideration for others...

they are fresh water.

and maybe they aren't allowed to enforce the rules because they aren't really lifeguards - there are the signs at the pools that say "No lifeguards on duty." at least there used to be. People can be so disgusting.

I'll find out two months from today , but what are the pools' guidelines for who swims where? Is the Mickey pool just for non-potty-trained kids and Goofy is for potty-trained kids or does it go by the ages of the kids? Does only the Mickey pool have a slide or does Goofy also? Is there an age/height requirement for the slide? Thanks!

The only place for non-potty trained children is the left ear at the Mickey pool. Potty trained ones can go into either pool. I wish that little ones in swim diapers could go into the Mickey pool itself - my DD kept trying to "escape" over the side of the ear to join in on all the fun.
