OK,here's my question, or questions I should say. I want to know ALL about Bingo about the DCL. We have sailed before, but totally missed this. I was hoping that some of my fellow Dissers could fill me in on their experiences with Bingo. I'm sure with a little digging and searching in the posted navigators I could find some answers but personal experience is always the best. How often do they have games each day? How much do the games cost? Will you miss the evening shows to play bingo? Have you won alot? Are the prizes worth playing? Do many kids play?
Thanks so much guys!:thumbsup2

They play one session a day, most days. Five games per session. Prize money starts under $100 and builds each game and each day. Cost is, I believe, $25.00 for 3 cards per game or $35.00 for 6 cards per game. Cards can be used that specific session and game only. The last game of each session is blackout and a bigger prize. The last session of the cruise brings a huge crowd. The more people, the bigger the prizes, but the less chance of winning.

Thanks LisaBi! Wow, I don't know what I was thinking, but that seems a little pricey. Have you played? Did you win anything?

There is a progressive jackpot that is given away on the last day before port. On our July 2007 cruise, it was about $4000.

We played twice on the Feb.3 cruise. I won once. Broke even.
Pikey is worth the price of the cards:lmao: He is so fun. Kids are therebut they can not claim a prize.I let my son bend and fold for me!

Yep - we got sucked in. I think we played 3 different days including the final day. Spent $140.00 and won nothing. (On the last day DH and I each bought the $35.00 set of cards; the other two days we just had one set.)

OUCH!!! I may have to rethink whether or not I want to do this!

Hey, Bingo is just like gambling anywhere else.....it's all in the game, and how much FUN :joker:it is anticipating a big WIN! after all, SOMEBODY'S got to win, right> Might as well be you! :goofy:

We played – it was entertaining enough for my family of five with two cards. (three little kids) We were one of four winners for the final jackpot (our share was $30). They also have a raffle. We won a Stingray Adventure for two on Castaway Cay. We only did it one night. It fit in nicely after dinner and before the show.

I'm a BINGO newbie (DCL too!) so forgive this question, please. :upsidedow Does this mean that, on one night, you get three or six cards for all five games for $25 or $35? Or do you have to shell out $25/$35 per game, per session ($125/$175)? I'd do the former, not the latter.

Thanks!

the prizes are not always monetary. some prizes awarded are spa gift certificates and c.c. gift certificates. i never won but it was fun.

The First is correct $25/$35 per session.

We have always had a great time with the Bingo. On our second cruise we won some raffles that included a diamond bracelet from Diamonds International (retail value $150), rainforest package and souvenir package (watch, slippers, can cozies & binoculars). On our last cruise my DH won a small bingo cash prize after someone called a Bongo.

I don't know if they still do it, but on each of our other Magic cruises they'll have one session of "spa" bingo where they raffle off spa gifts (as someone mentioned above) but also give anyone who plays 20% off one spa treatment if you go and reserve that day. (Treatment doesn't have to be that day, just the reservation made.) 20% off of a $100+ massage pretty much pays for that bingo session, if you were planning on visiting the spa anyway.

I'm a bingo-holic off the ship anyway, so I really have to try and curtail myself onboard. DS and I love to play. I won about $200 one time, and lots of little raffle gifts here and there. It's just so much FUN!! :)

Just got off the 3/22/08 Western. We kept not finding time for Bingo during the cruise. Finally on Final Jackpot Bingo my dh and I went while our dd was in the club. We were thinking $35/card that was pricey but decided to do it. We were glad we did. The 1st of 4 games was 4 corners and after around 5 numbers the Bingo Queen asked if anyone was waiting for just one number. I raised my hand. I was scolded (in fun) for not standing up as you were supposed to stand up when you were only waiting for 1. I stood up and I was the only one standing. I forget if it was next number or one more but she called 11 and I yelled bingo. I was the only one so I got the entire pot ($553). Games 2 and 3 were bigger but there was more than 1 winner for each. In the final game (Big Jackpot) a guest won it alone. He went home with over $7,300. Who needs casinos on the cruise when you can win like that.

Well done.

I really enjoy playing Bingo and while it is pricey I just look at it as the cost of my extra entertainment. I have not won anything yet but I really hope that my 3rd cruise is the charm. ;)

First, what's a Bongo? And after I find that out my next question is going to be whether someone that has to ask what a bongo is should even play? I know how to play Bingo, but I know there are people out there that can keep track of very many cards at one time and I'm not one of those people. Do newbies even stand a chance?
