what would you like to see DFTW change

THis recent package change had me think...how did they come up with it??

Did they question/survey people to see what they would like to see??

I would have liked to have seen substitutions in their smaller packages.

From what it sounds like, not many people like the David T couture option.

What would you guys like to see or not like to see change?

I think the new Couture options look beautiful but at what cost? I have heard 65k + but Disney has no prices.

Also I'd like to see them add more options to their Wish book because I feel like they don't let you really get an accurate idea of what you can do.

I'd like them to change the price of Cindy's carriage. It's bloody ridiculous. Which is a shame because it's such a symbol of a Disney Wedding and many couples simply can't justify the cost for the whole 1/2 hour you get it (seriously, it works out to something like $83 a minute!!)

I'd like a bigger selection of floral options for bridemaids in the (intimate - whats it called now? ) wishbook

I would like to see them offer some sort of honeymoon package. There could be different packages to choose from with different extras and hotel option levels. They could maybe offer more of a discount for brides and grooms who were married at WDW (come on, we pay $20000 for a wedding and they can't give us a little help on the honeymoon!!!) From what I have seen, their website gives a bunch of info about what you can do on your honeymoon, but there are no official discount packages or anything.

I would like to see a few things change...

I think the Characters should HAVE to stay for the entire 30 minutes AT LEAST (not "up to 30 minutes") We pay $1100 for 2 Characters only to have them escorted away in 15 minutes, its not very "disney-like".

I think the coordinator that is assigned to you should have to go and work the wedding. I have seen more times than not that your WC gives you a call just before the wedding to say "I wont be there, so&so will be there in my place, everything will go fine." Crappy if you ask me. We spend all of this time investing into these people, and yet all the person that shows up knows is whats on the BEO. Id rather have the person ive been speaking directly to show up and make sure things go as planned-- thats what I paid for.

I think DFTW should do a better job of staying in touch with their "brides & grooms" while in WDW. We got down there and it took forever for me to get in contact with my coordinator. That was ME trying to get in touch with HER. I never felt that they deemed it necessary to contact me. What if I had never called? La-la-lalalala....:rolleyes1 I suppose I would have been even more clueless than I was on the actual day. Which brings me to my next point...

Preparing the bride and groom for the ceremony is important. When i got there I had no idea what I was doing-- heck this is my first wedding people! I didnt know where I needed to begin walking, where I was walking to, the time lapse between the moment I got to the place and the time the wedding begins.

I would like to see Disney become a little more competitive in their photography package (no wait I take that back-- I like seeing Randy get the business). But they should at least be aware of how much money they are losing. I guess they cant hang with the big dogs.

Same goes for Videography. Seems like Stan from STVS is definitely the way to go-- why can Disney not see the possibilities in making money in these two areas?

I do feel the Characters are overpriced, along with the carriage and major domo. Some things should be somewhat standard in Disney. I feel they should work at-least one of those in to the package price so that every disney wedding has a little bit of extra sparkle. Perhaps they should leave out the *surprise gift* for intimates and make it something a little more memorable-- like something stated above.

Okay im hopping off my soap-box but I might be back...;)

I would have liked to book my wedding earlier. Not being able to sign a contract until 8 months out is a little ridiculous IMHO. I know it's b/c conventions have priority over us, but why? Ok, that's a little selfish but come on, it's my wedding ;)

I Love the couture collection, but tooooo pricey for me.. So I am sticking with the Wishes Collection...I think it will still be as beautiful..

I so agree with you - I hate the uncertainty of not knowing if I got my first choice date / time / location - you can't feel settled nor plan properly until 8 months out for the majority of brides.

I also agree that the 30 mins min for characters should be compulsary (they are a LOT of money!) and also the coach is slightly over valued.

There should also be more info on extra's on the wishlist as previously mention - for instance, I wouldn't have know about 'hidden Mickey's' in bouquet's if it hadn't been mentioned on here, and they are a sweet touch.

OMG you can get hidden Mickey's in the bouquet?!

I asked for a hidden Mickey in my bouquet, but they did it on my maid-of-honour's instead. Oh well, at least I got one! They use pearl pins to hold the ribbon around the stem of the flowers and will simply put three together to look like a Mickey. I've seen pictures though where they did the same thing in the centre of a flower though!

I've seen pearl and 'diamonds' hidden mickeys. They look so cute both in the flower centres and also on the 'handle' of the bouquets. They can also add them into the groom's buttoniere (sp) and I think I heard about $3.50 each so not a bad price.

Adding to the list of things I think DFTW should change...

We should be able to edit our own DFTW website with information regarding the couple and itinarary.. I do understand that the Disney information cannot be changed (as to prices of hotels and whatnot- that would be misleading). But as for making it a unique site and something that the bride and groom could really use for communication- I think it would be appropriate for the couples to edit them as needed.:surfweb:

I agree about the contract being a custom destination people, and inviting over a hundred people and having to wait until the 8 month mark to know if we have our reception site is majorly nerve wracking. I couldn't order anything! Plus having to wait so long for the BEO is like nails on a chalk board as well:confused3

I would have to agree with you on this one. I finally got so frustrated with the site that I didn't even give it out to anyone coming as they did get a lot of the times and places wrong and things like that on our site. I just printed an iteniary and told everyone ahead of time what was going on by e-mail.

I save all the good things about the site (like the background, colours, etc.) and made my own web site. That way I can put my own pictures - as many as I wish, info about dinner reception at home and so forth.

I was interested in doing this and adding the web address to our invites to save on future mailings. Can you suggest a great site for making your own?? There are so many out there and I'm new to this (although I'm pretty good on computers.) The whole write your own html stuff is too much! ;)

Ok I know this is an old thread, but I thought it was a VERY GOOD ONE. you would check these boards to see how they are viewed and the kinds of questions their FUTURE CUSTOMERS ask.

ok, heres my rant....

1. when you call to inquire, they should send you something physical other than a very outdated DVD - I have no idea what, but any other place you ask about weddings they provide you with you SOMETHING when you inquire

2. They should list options if you want to do a some reception-like afterparty (how about that for a description?) whether it be a wishes cruise to celebrate or listing the restaurants where private rooms would be available to book

There's more but most of already said what i was thinking

I definitely agree with #1. The current video is more of a promotional video, not an informational video. They need something that shows video of all the ceremony options, reception options, dessert party info, etc... Not just a fluffy video showing brides getting their pictures taken.

You have all raised some really great points!

My biggest complaint is that as an intimate I have not been offered any options at all. I've had to ask for everything! As some others have mentioned there are numerous things I would have never been aware of if it had not been for these boards! As much as Disney loves to sell stuff they should have some sort of catalog offering to DFTW brides no matter what kind of wedding you are having. I had to ask about the guest books, cake and knive server, etc.
My other big beef is like many of you - the cost of the characters and Cinderella's coach. My question is... do the folks in the suit have a clue about what Disney is charging for the character visit? I bet they don't make anywhere near that!
I think they should have characters as a part of the MK photo shoot!

Don't get me wrong...I'm thrilled to be able to have the opportunity to have my wedding at Disney!
