Location Dillemma

I had my heart set on having my wedding at sunset pointe, my travel agent has had my details for 5 months, as my wedding is september 2007, disney would not confirm until january. I have only just been told this location isn't available in september so i have to choose a different one. After lots of searching for photos etc. i have decided on the wilderness lodge, mainly because i wanted a magic kingdom resort hotel. I am still not 100% sure of this location and am worrying if i have made the right decision. Please please please can someone reassure me

I'll try to help...

I struggled with choosing a location too. The options are ALL magical and it's hard to pick just one! Knowing that you want a MK resort location is a great start!

I remember two brides here who have used that location (and there are probably more) and they both LOVED it!! I'm sure they'll be along to tell you more about it.

Know that, as I said before, EVERY location is beautiful and Disney will make your wedding so beautiful and magical no matter where you are!

JandJ had her wedding at the WL. It was beautiful. Maybe you can contact her and she can show you a lot of her photos and that will help to ease your mind. Its a beautiful location!

The same thing happened to me. I wanted our wedding ceremony at Sea Breeze Point. It was the only location I had an opinion on - even let my DF pick the reception site, all I wanted was the wedding ceremony to be held at SBP. We went down for our site inspection tour and were told that it is not a good idea to use any outdoor location in June. I was heartbroken. We pretty much had to pick the WP or a ballroom. After deciding on the WP and looking more and more at other weddings that have been held there I am so happy with my decision. I know it is hard to let go of the dream location you had your heart set on but in the end I am sure you will be happy with whatever decision you make.

I don't know if you've seen this site yet but Photography by Taz has wonderful photographs of many of the locations that are used for weddings at Walt Disney World. ...Adding my vote for Wilderness Lodge - it is gorgeous!

And just to clarify, WL is in the Magic Kingdom area but it is not on the monorail. It does have boat service to the Magic Kingdom, however, and busses to the other parks/resorts. I don't know if that's a big deal to you - some people want the monorail or nothing!

Hi Allisonjane! I can understand your disappointment but I have to tell you the WL Sunrise Terrace is GORGEOUS! I lived in Orlando when DH and I started planning so we saw all of the options for locations in person. We saw SeaBreeze Pointe and thought that would be perfect, but then we saw the site at WL and we fell in love with it! I was thrilled that I got it! My travel agent called me this morning and it is all confirmed - sunrise terrace at 5pm on 20th september - im so excited and nervous at the same time as im sure all other brides to be must feel too.
I would love to see any photos of this location but not sure how to contact people directly on here.

Once you get your coordinator you can ask her/him for more photos of this location and they can e-mail them to you!!

Just know that everything happens for a reason!! You will be near MK, and the WL has one of the best theme's. You can't go wrong!
