Hey everyone, I need your quick advice. I'm ready to put some deposits down for my Feb 2008 wedding. Were staying 14 nights at POR and having a intimate wedding a sea breeze. What i'm actually going to do is book the resort seperate using my AAA discount and the add the Intimate Add On. My question is should I go ahead and make the 14 night reservation first or should I call DFTW first and talk to them. I figured just to go ahead and make reservations at POR because before anything happens with DFTW they have to have my reservation number, right? Please get me straight. thanx all

Trying to help you get a quick answer...I believe you have to book your room first. Do you have your date yet? I am not 100% sure but I think Intimates have to wait until the 8 month point to get the date. I am sure somebody else will fill you in more. I booked my July wedding in May so I don't want to give you wrong info.

I would book the room first.. you can always cancel.. I belive the cancellation time is 48 hours before your check in date.. My DF and I were thinking Feb. 2008 as well... What date were you looking for.. We might end up getting married in November though... Need extra time to save for a house..

Our date is Feb. 3, 2008. Because were getting married at Sea Breeze i've confirmed through others that I can book mine 12 months in advance. I just need to know whether to call DFTW first. I'm pretty sure I'll go ahead and reserve the POR for 14 night and then once I have that Ressie number i'll call DFTW and start from there. Wow thats a run on sentence!:scared:

We are penciled in for an intimate on January 3, 2008 at Sunset Pointe. When I called in early January to book the wedding, I was told that I couldn't put down a deposit on the actual wedding until the 2008 packages come out. They said that it would be sometime after July before they came out, and for now, they could just pencil us in.

They never asked if we already had rooms booked, but just confirmed that I understood that we would have to book a four night minimum stay.

Hmm...so I might as well call to get penciled in if there going to wait until julyish for deposits...I can still put the deposit down on my resort I guess

That is what I would do. We went a head and got penciled in. Then I booked my photographers and videographers, and paid their deposits.

dmsluch, with your wedding being a sunset and in the beginning of January are you concerned about weather? too cold?

we held our wedding date, then went to AAA to book room, tickets and flight. then we had to call DFTW back with our reservation number and proceed from there.

No, I'm not really worried about it too much. We went this past December and had beautiful weather the entire time. So, I'm just going to hope for the same. Also, cold we can handle.. as long as it doesn't rain.
