Sending Wedding invites to famous people

I know a while back someone posted about sending wedding invites to famous people to get a letter of congrats from them. I love the idea of this and want to do this for my fiance (and me ofcourse) but I have a couple questions, 1) I thought that with the lost there where a lot of addresses to famous people but I can't find the thread or my printed copy, can anyone repost the addresses? 2) instead of sending invitations I was thinking of maybe sending an "announcement" of sorts, maybe saying something like "We are please to announce the wedding of ....... on July 3, 2007 ..... if possible the bride and groom would love a letter of congradulations on their big day, please send to ....... something like that (I would love any help with the wording...) Also I was thinking of printing it on nice paper and taking a photo of my cake topper (Micky and Minnie) and using it as a watermark lightly in the background. Do you think this would work?

I'm sorry I can't help with the addresses...but I wanted to make a suggestion (of course, you can decide what's best for you)...

With all the planning and everything you have to do, I personally would not stress too much "creating" something "special" to send to the celebrities/famous people. It just seems like a lot of extra work for you! I would just send an invitation so you can get the congratulatory letters and stuff!!

I sent my invites to Mickey and Minnie, the president and my FMIL got to hand deliver one to Rachel Ray, just for fun. She took it and said thanks but I haven't heard from any of them except Mickey and Minnie. THey send and autograph picture of them with our names on it and thier signatures, it was cute. I know there is a thread on here if you do a search with the addresses for some of them.

Your original description sounded pretty work intensive so I was just thinking don't stress too much, but with your clarification yeah, I think a letter/announcement would work just fine!

Do people really send a letter back? How fantastic! I don't know if I'd feel a little cheeky sending a letter to a Disney Character - won't they think you're trying to get them to your wedding for free? I'd love a little letter from them

Thanks for posting this - I'm definitely going to send one to Mickey and Minnie. I saw on another post that someone was going to try to send one to Cinderella and Prince Charming at the same address as Mickey. I'm going to try that too, since I'm having a Cinderella theme - you never know!

Thanks for posting this - I'm definitely going to send one to Mickey and Minnie.

I just finished addressing my invitations with the help of my mom, of course! She had the "M" page and when she saw Mickey and Minnie, she said, "Oh you've got to be kidding me!!" But once I explained everything, she laughed and thought it was funny!!! I guess I just didn't warn her about it ahead of time!!
