Trying to stay calm...just checked DVC Member website and to my surprise the resale timeshare I purchased was posted but none of the banked points, 2006 points or the April 2007 points are showing up. Did the seller lie? I was assured by the company I purchased it through that they had checked with Disney and Disney agreed with the seller's numbers. Has anyone had this problem with a resale. Everything I read about using the resale company was wonderful. Now I have a couple of long days worrying - had planned to use the points to give my nephew a honeymoon in Disney and bachelorette party for my own daughter. Any ideas???

Don't panic. Our resale came up on the website with no points as well. Within a few day (can't really remember how long) it was fixed with the correct point values. Congrats on the new contract!

I know when a nonmember buys a resale contract, getting things set up in DVC's system is a two-step process. First they set up the contract info and then they put the points in the account. Those two steps can happen on different days. It's probably still a two-step process even for existing members who purchase another contract on the resale market. (Probably has something to do with having to pull those points out of the former owner's account and transfer them to your new contract.)

Member Admin doesn't work weekends and Monday is a holiday so check your account again on Tuesday afternoon. If you still don't see the points by late Tuesday afternoon, give Member Admin a call.

Good luck!

I don't think you would see April 2007 points yet, since it is only January. Hang in there, because, I too think it will take some time to get it up there for you. If you call DVC, someone may be able to give you an idea of when the banked points will show up.

I agree that it's likely a systems issue. However one thing to note is that a seller has some control over the points until late in the process. Neither the Title insurance nor the closing company actually warrants the ultimate points accounting, only the number of points per year and title itself. I don't know of any specific issues with DVC where the buyer has been left holding the bag but I do know of several with regular fixed week timeshares. I have heard of a couple where the points were not as they were supposed to be and the broker had to scramble.

I think this is normal. We gave my mom and dad some points and we panicked the first time we checked their account online. There were no points showing up when DVC first set up the online account for them. But after a few days to a week (I can't remember the exact timeline) the points were in there showing up.

I have points posted online through the April 2009 use year.

Use Year April 2009
Total Annual Allotment of Vacation Points 250
Total Vacation Points Remaining 250
Total Vacation Points Available to Borrow 250

I have used all my April 2006 points, it looks like this:

Use Year April 2006
Total Annual Allotment of Vacation Points 250
Total Vacation Points Remaining 0
Total Vacation Points Available to Bank 0

If memory serves me right, when we purchase our resale last spring, it took almost a week for the correct points to show up on the member site, and we also bought a contract with banked points.

I bought direct from Disney and my points were not showing right until about a week after I first got my password for the member site. Don't panic- just call MS when they open. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice - it helped me stay calm until the DVC offices opened on Tuesday. The office confirmed that all of the points would be available by Friday and then went ahead and allowed me to book a room for my nephew's honeymoon in Feb. They do make MAGIC happen.

Thank you for coming back and updating us on the situation. We're glad that everything worked out fine, and you are happy with your DVC purchase. Enjoy your trip planning! :)
