Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC RESORT Family Suites Information & Questions

Thanks for all of this great info! We are staying here Feb. 3-10 and are so excited!

Does anyone know what size coffeepot is in the room? Do they take standard filters? DH and I have to get our coffee fix in the morning :)

We stayed in the Suites over Thanksgiving. I brought my own coffee because Disney's is not too good. They do however have the coffee packs in the rooms. The pot is a small four cup pot. I brought regular 8 cup filters with me because that's what I use at home. It worked fine. :surfweb: Enjoy your stay.

I'm sorry if this has been covered already on this thread. We just added a third child to our family and I don't have time to read every page right now. We were wondering if these suites were part of the free dining package last year?

They werent included in free dining last year, but this year the UK free dining package included the suites.

I haven't read through the whole post so please bear with me if this has been asked before. I am traveling with my twin GDs the last part of August and I am wondering if we can get the suites being only 3 people. I chose this time because of less visitors, it is just before school for the girls and on the chance of free dining again. Can I get a suite that is on the second floor and close to the front desk, bus stop and food court? I am thinking that they will be tired and being as I won't be able to carry both on our return from the parks!!!:rotfl: Thanks for your help!!!

Yes, you can get the suites with just 3 people. I don't think Disney really cares how many are in the room.:sad2:

Last year the suites were not included in the Free Dining Plan. Don't know what they will do for this year. If you are in a suite, you will be in a building close to the food court, bus, etc. They are in the 4 closest buildings (Jazz & Calypso). We stayed in Calypso #10, and it was closest to the food court. It was great! The suites are scattered throughout those buildings. When I made my reservations, I asked for a third floor room. Got second, and that was fine.

Enjoy your trip!

Thinking about staying in the suites Nov 2007. This is such a helpful thread!! :) Thanks for all who have posted information. One thing I wish they had was a toaster! That would be a great help.

Last time we stayed at a value resort, we stayed in connecting rooms at AS Sports. If I am not interested in the kitchenette, do you think I should stay in a suite or go for the connecting rooms again? I am concerned about not ahving enough space to unpack. Our trip will be 10 or 11 days and there will be 5 of us --me DH DD7 DS4 and DS2. Thanks for your help.

If you aren't interested in the kitchennete, I would go for the two rooms. The family suites are so new and there are so few of them, that discounts are not to be found.

You should be able to get two Value rooms at AAA discount, AP discount, or possible public code and pay less than for a family suite.

To get a similar bed configuration, request a king connecting to two doubles.

Plus the connecting rooms will have an outside door on your side also, so if the kiddos are sleeping, one of you can slip outside on your side of the room(s) without disturbing them.

Just thought I would add my review of the suites since we came back a little over a week ago. Our building was right next to the main building and our room was #656 on the third floor. The building was Calypso, building #10. Our door faced the pool and was next to the drum staircase. Our location was AWESOME since we were next to the food court and the bus stop was very close! The noise level was low-we rarely heard anything from outside our room. We have stayed at Riverside Port Orleans twice and we could usually hear the neighbors. The space was good, except for when the beds in the living area were pulled out. Mousekeeping only folded in the couch for us daily(which we appreciated not having to pull out every day!), and made all the beds.
For an economical stay onsite for a family of 5-it was good! Will we stay there again-probably not. When we were in Orlando during June, we stayed 5minutes offsite at a 3 bedroom condo-I think it spoiled us! I do love the Disney bussing, and the Extra magic hours-but to relax and be at Disney-wow!
I am going to try and figure out how to post pictures & will post the ones I took!

I was hoping for a family suite for our Dec. trip, but they are all booked. Right now I have 2 connecting rooms booked at Pop with a AAA discount. I am getting both rooms for about $125 a night.

Do you have to pay the extra adult charges at the suites, if you have 3 adults? I was wondering about this, since they are a bit more than 2 rooms, and they are designed for more people.

No you dont. We are staying there starting this Sat for a week (our first visit to WDW!! Wooo Hoooo!) Anyhow its myself, my wife, our two daughters and Grandma. $169 per night. Thats how much it is with 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 people. Adults, kids whatever. We could have went with two rooms but, we liked the idea of all being together & having the microwave, fridge, etc. (kitchenette) and still having two bathrooms. Anyhow, I'll be back the 20th and I can post some kind of review. :goodvibes

I have to ask-125 for the two combined or 125 each? If it is for them combined-I would not change to a suite! The suites are not taking discounts and we paid a lot more than that for Dec 2006!

I just wondered if anyone has ever gotten a discount code on these rooms? We have about outgrown a single room(we are 5 and a baby) so our next trip may very well have to be at a value, either 2 regular rooms or a suite. I guessed no one was getting discounts yet. Maybe not unless they make a whole lot more? Hoping I'm wrong. ;)

There haven't been any discounts yet. I think it is because they are so new, and so popular. They can book them with people paying full price, why discount? Maybe they will in the future.

ok, how do I post pictures?

You have to use photobucket in order to post your pictures to the board. I haven't used it, so I can't help you more than that. You might send a pm to Minnie61650. She has posted all her pics, and she might could help you. She is very helpful, and knowledgeable.:thumbsup2

I agree with aldisney-I have not seen any codes, and we actually had a discount left from a trip years ago that Disney would not let us use on the room! (not complaining too much though, just means DH & I are going to take an adults only weekend in May-cannot wait!)

Unless you really need the kichenette-I would opt for two rooms if you are going to stay here-it would be cheaper:)
