Does anybody know how late GF will deliver a cake? I would love one delivered to my room after a long day at MK.

I was told a few weeks ago that the latest time is 9:00 PM. However, they will leave the cake in your room even if you are not there.

Would it be weird to order a mini castle cake for our anniversary, although we are celebrating it 4 months later?

I think as long as you are paying for the cake, there should be no problem. Some people just can't take vacation when they are celebrating something. Same here... we are celebrating our 10th anniversary early, because we simply can't go out of town in June.

Also, I know this isnt a cake question, but would it be weird also to make ADRs at CRT for dinner on Dec 7th and tell them its our anniversary?

Well... you'll get different responses on this one. Some would say that's being dishonest to get something for free. Some would say it's okay because you are celebrating on that day.

Sooo, I'm not going to give my opinion on that one because I don't want to get flamed.

:rotfl2:

Ok, I'm confused. Someone please help me out here... If I want a small customized cake for DS's birthday at Crystal Palace for dinner, do I need to call Crystal Palace and have this arranged or a bakery and have them deliver it to the Crystal Palace?? I would like a small cake no more than 8" but customized. Do they have that there at CP?

Also, I've been seeing photo's of GORGEOUS cakes here on this thread from GF. And I've read about them being delivered to your room. Do they only deliver to rooms at GF or can I have a GF cake delivered to AKL for example? And while we are on that topic....are there pretty cakes at AKL? Because if there are then I wouldn't have to worry about the GF issue. (I'm also needing a small cake for our anniversary which we will celebrate at le cellier) Does LC have those cute small cakes I saw with the castle on top? Or do I have to have that delivered too??:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

Have I confused you enough?:rotfl2:

I have read on here about GF charging someone 75 dollars to deliever a cake. I have also heard they only do them for their resort and dining venues, and do not allow pick up's. We will be at AKL in just a few weeks for our first trip to the World, and our honeymoon. I will be calling about setting up them maybe doing a cake to be set up in room during our honeymoon as a surprise, if not in room then maybe at one of our dinners. I too want to do something special since me and DFH have never been to WDW and I want this to be very special.:bride:

This is the cake we had at Spoodles for dinner, I ordered it through the Boardwalk Bakery. This is their standard chocolate-on-chocolate cake, the smallest available. I was told it can not be customized.
It was good ! We each had a piece and gave one to our waiter too.
The price was about $13 with tax.

Can I plan on having a cake during our ADR's at Cindy's Royal Table in June? I assume I call the MK Bakery for this correct? If so, what is the earliest I can call them to set it all up..obsessive planner over here :rotfl:
Love this thread..it makes me so hungry!!

Don't know if this will help anyone but here ya go:

This is a little different than the other "zebra" style cakes in this thread. It's more milk chocolate (flower and such) than white chocolate. My mom ordered this for me from the GF bakery. We had a rental car and DH drove her there to pick it up and then hand carried it to Chef Mickey's for dinner. If no rental car, you could always hop on the monorail to go to a Poly or Contemporary restaurant if your cake can only be made at the GF bakery.

Apparently the GF doesn't allow pick-up's. :confused3

Anyways, can I ask if you got the towel for opening the park?

We got to open the park last time we were there and we only got a Magical Moments certificate. :sad1: However, it might be because the CMs didn't communicate with each other and 3 different CMs picked 2 families each! DH and I and another family of 3 were the first to get in line early that morning, so technically I think we should have been the first choice to open. :confused3

Disney says about two weeks notice is fine. If you order it too early there's a chance it can get lost and forgotten. I read on here, more than once, of people arriving to dinner only to find out they have no record of the cake ordered. I wouldn't order it any earlier than a month but I'd probably call at two weeks. If you do call really early, I'd absolutely call agan right before the trip to confirm.

For the slippers, mini-cakes, chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate Mickey statue, you can even call 48 hours before you need them (that's when I called).

For the other poster, GF's bakery is not a 'real' bakery like the one at Boardwalk and from what I've been reading they no longer allow pickups. They did briefly but no more. Of course, everything is subject to change so calling the GF to find out would be best.

Sorry. Guess I lucked out when she got to pick my cake up at the GF. But yes, I would call (and still probably will for our upcoming trip) just to make sure they haven't changed their policy yet again to start allowing pick-ups again. At least if nothing else, it will help to let them know that the option is badly missed! Oh well, if you're eating at a GF restaurant, than that cake is an option, and let me tell ya...... it was GOOD!!!!!!!

princess@heart - We did not get a towel, just the certificate. Of course, the ride in the front of the monorail was a special way for my son's friend to see everything for his very 1st trip. We were one of the 1st families in the park that day, if not THE 1st. The lady asked us how many were in our party, my DH said "Four" and she opened the gate and said "Come with me", looking at us in a "keep this on the down-low" kind of way. :rotfl:

Oh, okay! LOL I thought maybe I could have gotten a free towel out of the deal! Hahaha :rotfl2:

We were the first at the the park, but I think they would rather choose families with children more than just 2 goofy looking adults going to Magic Kingdom! :goofy: :tigger: "Let us in, let us in!" :lmao:

Found the Mickey Dome Picture! Now does anyone have any more info. on this? Where can you get it and how much??? I think Aquagirl is still looking for this answer too! HELP!!! It's too cute to pass up!

This is from my sons bday trip Oct 2006.

We ordered this at beach club (DVC) side. Cost $60.00 includes tax & tip. It is white chocolated hand painted.

That cake looks huge! And you said it was only about $25? What size was it?

Thanks for sharing!!! :thumbsup2

Sorry cant remember but it is the next size up from the smaller size which is the Mickey only( which is frozen). I want to say 8 inch again not sure. I was supposed to be enough for about 8 - 10 people.

Okay, thanks! :goodvibes

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has been so helpful with this post. I ordered a Mickey cake for DD's b'day @ Chef Mickey's and it was fabulous!!!! We also had a great time as Donald decided he was going to be very mischevious. He used the cake knife and put a clever in Mickey's head. All of us as well as the tables around us got a big kick out of his antics.

Here are a couple of pics:
