I'm not positive what the actual rule is, but I think the child would have to be under age 3 in a pack and play. Those are small rooms. We are 2A/1C. We sleep on the bed, DD takes the pull-out. I think with one more person it would be very tight. Two more, way too tight for comfort, imo. Enjoy!

A studio (even the Studio Plus, which is only a request and not guaranteed) only sleeps four persons plus one additional infant under the age of three.

The day bed is an upholstered deacon's bench with a foam pad about two inches thick (not a real mattress).

Agreed...the daybed in a studio plus isn't worth sleeping on, even for a small child. However, the extra sleping accomodation will allow BWV to book a studo with a plus request for a party of 5. That does not have to include a child under the age of 3. They may not book 5 adults in a studio plus, but we have a confirmed reservation in a BWV studio with a plus request for our party of 5 - 2 adults and 3 children ages 4, 6, and 9. Yes, it will be a little tight, but we have no problem making it work.

That was my understanding as well. CRO can't book studio plus's, they are exclusively in the DVC MS inventory.

We are renting from a DVC owner, does that make a difference? We are a family of 5, 2 adults three children. I read on allears that the studio w/daybed could accomodate 5 (the way it read seemded like 6, too many in that room!) I was wondering if that's wrong. That's why I'm requesting the daybed, I thought that's what made the room available for 5. Should I ask the owner I'm renting from to request this Studio plus?
Disneykidds: It's really not bad at all with 5. We did just fine in May. There will be plenty of room for you and your family.
If it were 5 adults, that would be too much.

Yes, it might.

Do keep in mind that five in a studio is still very cramped, though as a DVC points reservation, you have a better chance of securing that reservation. Do be sure that the DVC member is very clear that there are five guests in your party.

If you are renting DVC points from a member you'll be fine. CRO can't book 5 in a studio at BWV. Member Services can as long as it is on points, and it doesn't matter if it is the member or a guest who the reservation is for. Has the member already made the reservation? Yes, they would need to request a studio plus when making the reservation in order for Member Services to accept the reservation for 5, assuming one of the children wasn't under the age of 3.

I agree, if the kids are young there is no problem being in a studio with 5 people. Unfortunately for us, since ou youngest is now 3 we'll only be able to stay in a studio at BWV. Our stays at VWL/BCV will have to be in a 1 Br.

We really didn't think it was that cramped last year.......besides, we spend very little time in the room.

It seems unfair that the next room up is a 2 bed which is 3 times the cost, for just one more person (Even a 3 year old).

Unfortunately, hotel rooms (not just at WDW, but everywhere) don't come in too many different sizes, so at some point you have to go from 1 to 2 and from 2 to 3 -- you encounter what mathematicians call a "step function" rather than a nice gradual curve, which would perhaps lead to less consternation. They have to draw the line somewhere, and evidently for the vast majority of hotel guests, 4 people per room is a fine upper-limit, so that what they've settled on. Even if they had settled on 5, there would be a similar situation for families of 6.

Size of the room doesn't have as much impact as the number and nature of individual sleeping surfaces available. Occupany limits are specific -- Even though there is probably a rational explanation of "why" it's immaterial in its effect, since the limitation applies regardless of the explanation.

They won't sell you a room that doesn't have a bed for every member of your party. Rollaways are not offered at DVC resorts. (thank GOD!)

I wish they would just go back to four plus one under 3. And studios should never book more than four. All accomodations for DVC Villas should stick to the occupancy limits listed in the public offering statement (POS).

Now, with the villas at AKL, they may provide one bedrooms that sleep more than four plus one, but I'll never have that many. It's just too crowded. We had three adults and one 11 year old in a one bedroom at SSR once and we felt very crowded.

I couldn't agree more with any of this! If they add additional occupancy for a studio or 1BR at AKL, I hope that they also increase the points proprortionately as well, and still have an inventory of rooms that continue to sleep four as they always have. We'd like to stay there, but I don't want to have to spend double points for a 1 BR because they've decided to have it sleep six and it loses the king bed (another reason we wouldn't stay on that scheme.)
