How does Quiksilver work for Alamo at MCO?

I just made my first ressie using the Quiksilver program at Alamo - it saved me $20 over National for the same time. Does this work like Dollar where you have a separate counter to go to in the terminal? Or can I go to the garage, pick up my car and go to kiosk afterwards like National? I'm hoping National comes down as I'd much rather use them, but I'll take the savings where I can.

Not sure why you're so excited about National.....Alamo and National are the same company and the exact same cars. With Q/S you can go right to the Alamo-National bus and tell the driver you have a Q/S reservation. He'll take you to the parking lot where your class of vehicles are located and then you pick out whatever one you want from that class. If you rent from National then you're on the same bus and taken to the same cars. So it's all about who has the lower price. The first time you use a Q/S reservation you may need to go to the counter to take care of some paperwork; either at the counter in the terminal or the counter out at the cars.

She does not need to get on a bus for Alamo, it is in the terminal and has been for a few years.
Same for National, they are in the airport.

If it is your first time using QS, you will need to go to the counter, there is a separate line. No kiosks anymore. If you have used QS before, then you may proceed to the garage and use the booth there.
Ignore the comments about busses, no need, someone has not been keeping up. :)

Thanks for the replies. This would be my first time using Quiksilver so guess I'll resign myself to the fact I may have to stand in line for the QS counter. I was hoping I could pick out my car first, like I do for National, and then check out at the kiosk.

Well, at least the QS line is a priority. Keep your fingers crossed, maybe National will drop the rates to be more in line with your present rental.

Sorry.....didn't realize you were talking about Orlando airport. I thought you meant airports in general.....which at most places is a bus ride.

With QS,you can leave the terminal and go to the parking lot. There's a glass kiosk where the Alamo/National cars are located. I found this by accident on our May trip. There were about 50 people ahead of us and I'm not patient. So,I walked out to the parking lot and "discovered" the kiosk. It took about 10 minutes to get our car. BTW,this was the first time I used the QS service.

Kind of figured that. :) And you are totally correct, most Alamo locations doe require a shuttle bus ride.

I just made my ressie with Alamo and plan to use their online check in to avoid lines. Supposedly you go to the lot of cars find one in the category you rented and then show the paperwork to the attendant as you leave.

Why bother with Quick Silver if you have to wait on any kind of line?

Sometimes and especially if you use a discount code, you can't use online check-in. This has happened to many, many Alamo customers. I hope you have better luck.
