I was just wondering if it was worth the price... the portions seem rather small for the money but I have not seen any complaints about it :thumbsup2, so I was thinking maybe we should try it this summer. As well, Im from Canada, so does it seem odd that Im going to a Canadian place when I could go to like, Italy or Germany or something? Any opinions? (and How good is that cheddary soup thing? :rolleyes1 )
Thanks

Last Feb. we eat there and it was great and very yummy. They accept the Dinning Pass. I thought the portions were decent. It was one of the better places we eat at. Would defintaly go back there. I suggest if your going to eat there to make reservations early, the fill up fast.

The cheddar cheese soup is way yummy. Beyond that, I have never been a fan of Le Cellier (yes, I know that I am probably in the minority on this). In my opinion, you can get a much better steak at either Yachtsmen's Steakhouse or Concourse Steakhouse, or even at Flying Fish or Narcoossee's. Of course, these other places are not on the dining plan, and for some people that is a significant consideration.

The Cheddar Soup is awesome, as far as being Canadian, we are Canadian and it is our favourite restaurant. The food is great, prices aren't bad. You can check out the menu here:

Just remember if you do eat at Le Cellier to leave yourself lots of time, it is generally not a quick meal. Have a great time!!!!

Concourse is on the Dining Plan. The steak was better at Le Cellier, but the service was better at Concourse. They just rush you so much at Le Cellier.

The mushroom filet is the best (better than the regular filet with maple barbeque sauce). Love it! That and pretzel bread, what more can a girl ask for?:thumbsup2

I was wrong, thanks for the correction. Concourse Steakhouse is on the dining plan. I disagree about the quality of steaks, but to each his own. I have had consistently bad service at Le Cellier, which is the main reason I no longer go there.

To piggyback of the bad service (and most Disney restaurants do this - if you are on the dining plan anyway) I HATE being asked what I want for desert while I am ordering my entree.

Personally....no, I didn't think it was worth the price or the hype. I thought the food was good but it was too heavy and rich for my taste. I don't mind small portions if the food is great but this was not great, just good.

I loved Le Cellier, but none of us liked the cheese soup. I really preferred the other bread (the multi grain one) to the pretzel bread. We were on the dining plan and it would be a harder decision to go if we were paying OOP, but I probably would go just for the "moose" mousse and the maple creme brulee! I did not feel rushed at all and we went in June so it was busy when we were there. Le Cellier and the Kona Cafe are my favorite places to eat.:goodvibes

Glad to hear that. We got an adr there and I was really wondering if it was really hokey of us to be eating there as we are canuckies too! I decided to balance all those ddp character meals for the kids with a nice adult meal......... Alberta beef and cheesy soup....yummy:thumbsup2

:thanks: Thanks everyone,
We aren't on the dining plan, so that really isn't an issue, so I might have to bribe everyone into going there (but I have the strangest feeling that that wont be too hard ;) ). At least this time we planned some extra time at Epcot so I don't think that it will cause too much of a problem to actually sit and eat for awhile (we're the kind of people who must see everything possible as efficiently as possible so if we get 1 or 2 table service meals a trip thats lucky (and we usually go for 10 days)--- well that and the price).

:thanks:

If you are paying OOP, it may be a little less expensive to go for lunch. They also have less expensive lunch fare then, in addition to steaks. I thought the food was good, but my teenage son had the saddest face you ever saw when he saw the size of the petit filet on a bed of mashed potatoes. The meat portion isn't too small, but serving it on top of the potatoes, with nothing else at all (no veggies), and the way they serve on oversize plates, makes the portions look pretty small.

Edit to add: the kids all LOVE the pretzel bread and the servers will keep bringing you more.

We ate there on Christmas Eve as part of the CP package and we were on the DP. It was by far everyone's favorite meal in our party of 8 that we ate all week. Our adr fell during the lunch hours and the portions were perfect. Most of us had the cheese soup, it was very delicous. My dad did have the smoked salmon and crab appetizer and he loved that. Some of us had the filet and my dad and mom had the other steak available. All were excellent and cooked perfectly. I had the chocolate moose for desert and it was great. Our service was also very good. We were not rushed through our meal at all and we were not asked to order desert until the were done with the main course. I would highly reccommend this restaurant to anyone.

Well, we must be in the minority as well, because we weren't overly impressed with LeCellier. We payed OOP, and it just seemed overpriced (even in Disney terms) to us. Our portions were fairly small, and the steaks were just OK, very ordinay steaks you can get at any steak place, IMO. We thought Kona Cafe had a far superior fillet, and gave you a lot more food for the money. Maybe someday we'll do the soup and breadsticks plus some dessert, but I don't think that we would want to pay for that meal again. On the dining plan, though, it is probably a good value.

JMTC

Have a great day!

Maybe we will do lunch then, especially if its cheaper (and then maybe some fish and chips from England for dinner ;) ) and Im sure it would be just as good (considering the opinions)

Thanks again
