WCC with Teen boys

We are headed out to WDW in August with Carl and his friend. Carl will be almost 14 and his friend will be 14 already. They are the typical bottomless pits right now, so I'm looking for a place where they can get to their tummy's content while not breaking my wallet.

I've seen pictures of Whispering Canyon, as well as checked the menu and it sounds perfect for them. Both are pretty easy going guys, so I think the "fun" would be great by them. Have you taken your teens here? Did they like it or did they think it was too....well, babyish for them?

My 15 y/o thought is was too "baby-ish".

If you'll notice, he does not look thrilled:

And then threatened me with a knife (not really, but....)

Then his younger brother followed suit:

Quite honestly - I think you'd get more bang for your buck and have happier teenagers over at Trails End Buffeteria at Ft Wilderness. :cool2:

I would say trails end as well, filled up our teen boys there on more than one occasion. The Breakfastasaurus is also a great place to fill them up to begin with.

We went to Whispering Canyon Cafe with six people. We are in our forties and were the youngest people in the group (in-laws and parents). The dinner was one of the best we ever had. My stepmother and I did the hokey pokey, we all twirled the napkins, my father and I colored pictures because my father wanted to know why we had crayons on the table and nothing to color (we did get certificates after). Nothing "babyish" about it. The endless skillet will be great for two 14 year olds. Go for it.

WCC is one of our favorite restaurants at WDW! The skillet is fantastic - we went two nights in a row, it was that good! It is fun for kids, but the times we've been there the clientele was really all across the board: young kids enjoying the pony races, large families with older kids, solo adults and actually lots of adults celebrating birthdays and anniversaries.

Next time we go we're staying at the Wilderness Lodge just to be closer to WCC! ;)

Hmmm, depends! My nephews (ages 17 and 14) had a blast there, but they are a little on the loud, boisterous, and silly side. They maybe got into it a little too much!

If your teens are very concerned about looking silly or not looking "cool", then it wouldn't be for them. Otherwise, go for it.

My son loved it at 13 and can't wait to return this summer when he'll be 15.

I would think that a lot of teens would have fun there.

I told them about it tonite. Their answer? "Sounds like Scout Camp!" so they are excited about it. The endless food and milkshake didn't hurt any either.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check out Trails End as well, as they will prolly want to eat more than once while we are there. ;)
