I need to know what all is needed to check in online. I am hoping to have MIL check us in for our return flight. What do I need to leave with her so she can do this and what do we need to have to print the boarding passes once we get to MCO airport. I hope this will work as I need A boarding passes and will not have a laptop or web access phone to do it.
Thanks, I have never flown Southwest before!

All that's needed to check in on line is the confirmation number and the name(s) of the pax as on the ticket. It should be a breeze for her to do.

All your MIL needs is your confirmatin number and the passenger's name. It is very easy.....just make sure she does it at the 24 hour mark so you can get the "A" boarding passes...(unless you have kids under age 4)

does she need to do something for every passenger or just one thing? Also will she need to give me a confirmation number or any info so I can print them at the airport?
Thanks

Make two copies of the confirmation page that was your receipt when you purchased the tickets. Give one to your MIL. The key info is the itinerary confirmation number, (usually 7 characters a mix of letters and numbers.) If you have the ressies split into more than one purchase, she (and you) will need copies of all of them.

When the 24 hr. mark comes (and btw, that's 24 hours out from the time of departure in the departure city, so adjust for time zones), she should go to www.iflyswa.com and click on Check In Online about two inches down from the top right corner of the screen. This will lead her in and ask her to input the confirmation number and the name of one of the passengers. She should continue until she has you all checked in. (The screen will show all the names on the itinerary once the person supplies one of them; she needs to check off all of the names. The screen prompts are clear, and walk you through the process.)

When you arrive at MCO, use your copy of the confirmation page and a kiosk to print the actual BP's. You will type in the confirmation number and then follow the instructions. (If you are using the luggage-check kiosks and need to get BP's as well as check bags, choose "reprint boarding pass" on the second screen; it will subsequently ask about bags.) You will only need your original conf. page with the number on it to reprint; you won't need to speak to your MIL and get any further info after she checks you in. Note that even if you only have carryon baggage, you must do this before entering the security line; you need the actual paper BP's (with barcodes on them) to get through security.

checkinsooner.com looks really neat

I am usually not skeptical but has anyone used it (on SWA especially)

I am very skeptical about giving my personal information to anyone let alone some site that is just giving away this service. With the information necessary to checkin online, I can only imagine what havoc someone could do with your reservation. Like cancelling it, changing it etc. and booking to go somewhere else. This could be done by phone.
If it looks to good to be true (or legit)........ you all know the rest.

I'd call your MIL to remind her, just in case. :)

Why not just check in at your resort or at one of the parks? I would think this an easier idea. JMHO.

You've gotten some good advice. Two small points about the confirmation number. It will be a 6, not 7 digit code. And note that SW uses the letters O and I in their codes, but doesn't use the numbers 0 or 1.

THAT is wonderful advice. I know it drove a friend of mine nuts when they kept on trying to put in a "1" instead of an "I". Of course, that information was posted on the website, but, apparently, he, and many others, don't read anymore. :)

I always go to the concierge desk at the hotel in WDW to get my boarding pass. All WDW hotels will print out your boarding passes for you.

My MIL is a great person, but she can be computer challenged. I prefer to do it myself to assure that it's done and done right.

Interesting bit of info, did not know they could or would do that for you. You are refering to SWA flights and not ME airlines right? do you just have them do the online check the day you leave?

TIA for the insight:goodvibes

Someone posted that you chould check in on line at one of the parks. I knew you could do this at your hotel, but where do you go in the parks? This would be very helpful for me as our departing flight is at 12:30PM and I would love to not have to return to the hotel at that time on our last park day. Thanks!

You can check in at the parks at guest relations and that is good for any airline.
I only found out about this because I was in the parks one day and on a whim I asked at Guest Relations (inside the park) and they more than happily accomodated my request and told me they do it all the time.
