My 8 year old son has informed me that he wants to go to a princess charater meal because.....he must see Ariel with legs!! He seems to have a newfound crush on all the princesses, especially Ariel and Belle. Which meal is best...I am thinking about the one in Norway. We prefer dinners for our character meals. Can anyone give me any feedback? Having a boy I never thought about princess meals before!

We had dinner @ Akershus in Norway on October 3 and Belle (in her blue peasant dress) and Ariel (in her mint green ballgown) were present that night as well as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Jasmine. They rotate the princesses though so you never know which ones will be there-generally there are 5 of them but it changes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner everyday.... Good luck!!!! :)

Thanks..Also can you tell me how the food is?

We've now eaten here twice-once for breakfast in 12/04 and then dinner 10/06. Personally, I liked the breakfast better than the dinner (DH didn't like either) Everyone has a difference in opinion, but I know that "WE" won't go back as the food is not really very appealing to us... the restaurant itself is very cramped (at least the tables we always seemed to get!LOL!) The menus can be found here:

The dinner menu was limited to things I don't really eat... I did end up with the pasta which was decent but not something I'd go back for :rotfl: :rotfl: They have an appetizer bar of cold cuts/cheeses/pasta and potato salad to sample before your entree-all of which were fine.

Again, don't just go by my word on it-for instance, we LOVED Liberty Tree Tavern (after 16 trips, this was the first time we got around to eating there!LOL!) and I know that many people who post here think it's awful.... so you may love Akershus.... everyone's tastes are different...

Good luck to you!!! :)

We have done CRT twice for breakfast, norway twice for breakfast and norway once for dinner. Of those 5 times, we only saw Ariel once and that was at Norway for dinner. Good luck, I hope you get to see her!

I believe the general rule of thumb is that Ariel attends lunches and dinners in Norway only. Of course everything is subject to change. We've not been to the lunch or dinner in Norway but are scheduled to go in January (just a few more days till we leave - yeah!!) and aren't really looking super forward to the food. We're hoping for Ariel with legs

We saw Ariel with legs in her blue dress at dinner in Norway. We also saw Belle (blue dress), Jasmine, Alice, and Aurora.

Dinner was fine--and the dessert there is among the best we had on our eight night trip.

I'd go with either lunch or dinner at Akershus.

I don't believe that Ariel appears at the castle, she's in her Grotto in Fantasyland (with tail), after all. ;)

We just returned from a WDW trip during first week of December, and we did a late breakfast at Norway. As we were leaving, they were switching over to lunch, and Ariel was the greeting princess.

We saw Ariel with legs at Akershus in Norway in October. I had booked lunch there specifically hoping for Ariel - and our wish came true!:wizard:

I have Norweigan relatives and have visited Norway several times, so maybe I was prepared for the type of food choices that would be available. I will say however, that I am an EXTREMELY fussy eater, and even I finished my entire meal! :) I had the kjottakaker (which is a beef patty) which is served with mashed potatoes, veg and gravy. Our DD had a hot dog - I believe this is also an option for adults, too, if they ask their server.

I also recommend visiting Ariel in her Grotto at MK - I personally thought the interaction here was top class - not just with our daughter, but with the few parties we could see before us in the queue.

We did a breakfast at CRT, and the food was incredible. No Ariel, but we did see Belle, Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, and Fairy Godmother. The girls all got a magic wand, and the boys a sword. My DS was 8 then, and he loved it. The sword helped! We haven't tried Norway, as we are a little scared of the food! :scared: You may could call to make a reservation, and ask where and when your best chance of finding her are. They won't guarantee, but I have worked with some CM's who are very helpful in answering questions, and pointing you in the right direction. Worth a shot, anyway!

We've eaten at the Norway princess breakfast twice in the past 2 years (most recently in Oct), and both times we saw Ariel (she was the "greeter" princess) in her ball gown. They usually have 5 princesses total. We've also seen Belle, Aurora, Snow White, Jasmine, and Mulan there. But the princesses do rotate, so it's not guaranteed. But I haven't heard of Ariel being at any meal other than sometimes at Norway.

Ariel typically appears only at Lunch and Dinner at Akershus, though she sometimes appears at breakfast (but not very much).

Thanks for all the replies! I guess my best bet is dinner at Akershus. We love to try new food so we are all for it!! Here's to seeing Ariel with legs!
As my son put it...he wants to see his Sweetheart (aka Ariel). He is soooo bad!!:rotfl:

We had lunch at Akershus two weeks ago, and Ariel was making the rounds of the tables. We also had Aurora (the greeter), Jasmine, Cinderella, and Snow White.

She was also the greeting princess at our lunch in August, but she wasn't there for breakfast in April.

By the way, we love the food there!:thumbsup2
