Wondering if this could possibly be right. Have done 20+ trips & cruises and there was always a PIF date. We screwed up and purchased everything separately on this trip ( PP & DD paid for already) but would like to get the room paid. I'm renting points for the first time. I found my renter on ***********. They seem very reliable, and they had people send me emails as references.

I got my contract today- my trip is booked, and I need to sign and mail back the contract as well as half the agreed price as a deposit. As the contract was emailed to me- it is not signed by the DVC member who is renting to me.

Is it safe to sign and mail the contract and the deposit even though it is not yet signed by the DVC member? Like I said, these people do seem trustworthy. It even says all of their contact info on the contract- including address.

I just need some reassurance.

When we got our points loaded and I was able to see availability I thought it wasn't going to happen. Even SSR was booked pretty solid, with a few single days here and there, and nothing continuous longer than two days.

I was just about to give up and book us two rooms when I checked the site and suddenly there were 5 days in a row. I snatched those and a single day a few days earlier, and individually waitlisted the two days in the gap between them. Today the waitlists (both of them) came in and we have our continuous booking.

Thanks to all the folks who gave me advice for working the waitlists and other help.

I'm waitlisting the missing nights and checking online regularly, and I have a cash reservation that I made weeks ago that covers those nights. So if I can't get the nights on points, I can shrink my cash reservation to those two nights and have the various reservations marked as "continuing" so they'll allocate the same room for us.

I called MS to see if there was a DVC member discount available for those two nights in cash, and there isn't at this point. But there is still cash availability, so I could rebook the cash portion through DVC. I asked if that was advantageous in some way and the CM said it really wasn't. When they have cash reservations, either through DVC or CRO, they can't really be fully linked to a DVC reservation, but either way they can mark them so the room allocators can keep you in one room.

I could have sworn someone here mentioned that DVC cash bookings are different in some way from central reservation cash bookings. Any other firsthand info about that? The only thing I can think of is that right now the DVC MS folks can't see my CRO reservation in their system. If I rebook it, at least I can make one phone call to manipulate both reservations. We are waiting for ROFR. Our contract "came with" 120 banked points, which we would like to use some in early December for a long weekend. I have checked availability through the "public" Disney online reservation system....are there rooms that are only available for DVC? When do those rooms get thrown into the available for everyone pool? Or they don't? Or after 7 months out? Just wondering. I have seen the numbers showing "dedicated" rooms but did not know if they are dedicated for a certain amount of time or no matter what.
