Hi out there,

Just wanted to introduce myself. My family of 5 has been visiting Disney nearly every year for that last few years and we've always wanted to stay at the Fort. Now it looks like that is how we will be staying from now on as we just purchased a travel trailer. In the past we've stayed at POP, CBR, POR and offsite. I've been to the poly of couple of times as a kid. Anyway, with 3 kids, staying in hotels is becoming difficult and expensive so we decided that this is the way to travel for the foreseeable future!!! (will be so glad to not have to schlep our clothes/cooler/daypacks/toiletries you name it, into a room anymore)

The last few times we've been to Disney, we've driven straight through, overnight, but I don't think that will be a good idea with pulling our trailer.
If anyone has any advice about driving to Disney with a trailer, (we are about 18 hours away) please post it.

Being a total newbie, sorry for any silly questions, I posted one before but i thought i'd introduce myself here!
thanks:goodvibes

We are taking a few nearby trips (from NJ) this summer to DC, PA, and NJ to get it all figured out before we take our big trip to the Fort in March next year. (hoping it will be nice enough out to dewinterize before we leave, but that's a whole 'nother post!)

Anywhoo, being such a camping newbie, we need 30 amp service, but I understand that most of the sites have up to 50. Do we need to bring an adapter, or are there multiple outlets? We are staying in one of the 100-200 loops, if that helps.

Thank you!!

This is just for those who rent campers. I'm trying to figure out the cheapest way to visit WDW. At first I though camping must be the cheapest way but I don't own a camper. First I figured the cost for renting a camper, the campsite and airfare. Then I figured renting a camper here in New Hampshire and driving it down and back. What I found is that it costs about the same as staying at POR (we are a family of 5). So do most people rent campers for their vacation just because they enjoy camping?

We'll be staying in one of the cabins in October and I'm thinking that the night we arrive we'd like to get something from the to-go counter (like pizza or fried chicken). I understand it will be counted as a counter service on the dining plan but can anyone tell me how many credits it will take? Surely it will use up more than 1 for something like the bucket of chicken or the pizza.

Thanks for your help!
Will the Fort Wilderness Police allow that? I'm thinking I would like to try this with a small 5th wheel and a little egg. I know if we get 2 sights the egg will not be close by since it would be cheaper for them to be in a tent site verses paying for a full hook up.
Thanks!

Hi...I'm a newly registered member although I have been lurking for sometime now. Let me start by saying "I love Fort Wilderness!!!" I've been to the Fort many times over the years. My first trip was in 1974 when I was 8 years old. I used to love the train & the fruit cart that came around. I loved the playgrounds, basketball, swimming in the lake...River Country. We have stayed in our own camper, rental campers, Rental cabins & the last 2 trips in our TrailCruiser C21RBH in a Full Hookup site.

Well we're coming back in June but we have a new camper now..a Keystone Outback 250RS with a rear slide & side-slide. It's about 33 feet long with the rear slide out. My question is will we fit in the Full Hookup site or will we have to get a Premium??
Thanks for any input.
