On our trip in December, we are planning on taking the bus from the Wilderness Lodge to MGM one night to see the Osborne Lights. After that, we want to scoot over the the Boardwalk to have dinner, shop, visit Jellyrolls, etc. I know that is very easy to get to the Boardwalk from MGM. We have done that before. How big a pain is it to get back to the WL from the BW? Will we have to take a bus to Downtown Disney and transfer there? How long do you think it would take us to get back? If we decide to take a cab instead of the bus, do you have any idea how much that might cost? Thanks!

Do yourself a favor and take a taxi! We took the bus to Downtown Disney I know it took over an hour to get back to Ft Wilderness. It was such a pain especially with tired children.

It depends on how many are in your group, but the cab should cost about $12 or so. well worth it. I tend to walk to the Yacht/Beach Club and get the cab there (sometimes B'walk has a line for cabs at night).

I second the recommendation to get a taxi. We had major problems getting back to WL from the Boardwalk one night. Only time we've ever had a problem with Disney transportation. (Though to be fair, a CM helped us out and we finally made it back by a very circuitous route.)

I believe you have found the "hole" in the Disney Boardwalk area! They want to promote the area as a destination, but don't really have the transportation figured out.

Having to travel through DD or TTC (which is often closed by that time), it takes way to long to get to non-EPCOT resorts.

I agree with the above posters, take a cab.
