Nancy Drew and GregC - The photo was taken in March 2006 at the end of MainStreet on the left side facing the castle. Its a little resturant that has a veranda.. I'm sure someone can help me out w/ the name! It may be Refreshment Corner?

We were getting ready to find spots for the parade and we saw them all go dancing by so we followed them for autographs and were even luckier b/c we got to spend about 15 mins. w/ them coloring and making paper crafts.

Hi Everyone,
My daughter took this photo standing in the finding Nemo ride. We didn't even notice the mickey head until we were in the airport looking at the picture. These photos are ALL beautiful!!! The one with the older couple in the teacup ride brought tears to my eyes as did the little children who were ecstatic at meeting their favorite characters. . . . particularly the little girl in the wheelchair meeting Cinderella. . . I never expected planning my Disney trip for DH and my 2 boys would get this sentimental for me! I have a feeling I'll be very sentimental when I see Cinderella's castle next week!!

DBF and I were just enjoying the quiet surroundings near Snow White's Grotto and we saw a Disneyland security walk over by the ducks and he started feeding them Cheerios. I thought it was so sweet.. I don't have a pic, I WISH i did..but when we went to Disneyland on our honeymoon we saw the crowds part coming toward us and we saw a Security Guard walking a family of ducks through the crowd so no one would stomp on the little babies. I think of DL spirit every time I think of that..so those pics bring it ALL back for me. Those guards really have a soft spot for the ducks, eh? :D

I love that picture of the elderly couple in the tea cups... Wow, what a great picture! Definitely encompasses the spirit of Disney. During the 50th anniversary I saw a couple about this age walking very slowly down main street, looking in the shop windows, holding hands and smiling. The best part? The golden Mickey ears they were wearing. This picture totally reminds me of that... makes everyone feel young at heart and completely magical.

My DD on her 4th birthday in 1983. We did not ask her to kiss Mickey, it was one of those sweet spontaneous moments! :love: I was so lucky to have my camera ready. :)

But, last week, I was a picture-inserting fool in my own Trip Report, and I am not done yet! I had to scan a lot of my photos anyway and get them on the computer for back-up/posterity, so while I have a little time to do it here and there, I am combing through endless photo albums and spotting things that I would like to post on DISboards! If you have tons of pictures - especially from all kinds of DLR trips, past and present - but don't want to post 50 of them on one thread, it's a great idea to just start a Trip Report or a Pre-Trip report to just kind of give yourself a venue for posting all of your photos!!!

This is my favorite Spirit of Disneyland picture. My dgd had an "accident" and since we hadn't brought along any extra underwear, we had to get a pull up from the baby center. Madison was very upset and crying about having to wear the pull up and just then Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty came in and told her that princesses sometimes have accidents and she would be just fine. I love these pictures. I just found them in a box of loose photos I had in the closet. I have no clue who the child is in them, but my friends and I were, I think, standing in line somewhere or waiting for something and happened to catch sight of this 'show' Goofy was putting on to amuse this random child. This must have been back in the '80s or '90s (can't recall). Very 'spirit of DLR,' I think!

It qualifies for at least a few different categories on this board, so it should be seen in all of them: the Spirit of DLR thread, the Nighttime/Fireworks thread, Holiday picture thread, the Picture of the Day thread, etc. - heck, why not put it in the Dining thread too?:lmao: It is such a great picture that it should be seen by everybody in all categories! Does your version of the Times have a weekly photo submission by readers? The L.A. Times Sunday Travel Section prints a photo every week from a reader, and I think Parade magazine which comes in the Times also features readers' photos. I admit I saw that picture a while but declined to comment on it because most people already voiced my sentiment. But I have to say... you know those promos they have of professional actors having the time of their lives in commercials and such? How many takes do they need to do to get it right?

Authenticity gets it in one take. They should start going out into the parks and taking pictures of ordinary people having the time of their life.

That's cute. :flower3: Sometimes I suspect that we adults actually get MORE of a kick out of Disneyland than the kids do, :dance3: although they LOVE it!!!! :cheer2: We have the pure joy of acting like kids without abandon, :woohoo: and plus we have the memories of our own childhoods there :banana: AND we get the excitement of watching our kids (and grandkids!) having that kind of fun! :yay: What could be better than that? :grouphug:

Thank you :) Actually, when we were getting off a ride I had the idea and we went to the Castle to do it, so it kind of happened that way and when we saw photopass photographer, I'd say "lets do it again!" and the girls would say "YES!!! Lets do it!"

I was just trying to get a picture of the sign, and while I was snapping away, I noticed that the conductor had been waving at me the whole time. It just exemplified cast members for me. He was sitting there, and noticed me taking pictures, and took the time and consideration to wave and smile. I love this picture!

I followed this mama duck and her 2 babies into Fantasyland. They were so cute. I thought it was funny that the babies were leading the mom, instead of the other way around. Straight to Fantasyland! They ended up finding a nice shady spot under a tree...safe from all the people rushing around from ride to ride!
