I didn't realize this thread was here. Very nice pictures.

I posted this in another thread, but will put it here too. This is my favorite picture, not just from Disneyland, but in general. My little girls as happy as she can be. All she could talk about on our way to DL was Minnie Mouse and she finally got to meet her favorite character.

I think it's the same thing with Fairy Godmother . . . at DLR and WDW she's a face character but at Tokyo Disneyland she's a mask character. :scared1:

The fairies make an appearance in the Spectromagic parade at the Magic Kingdom. I'd prefer them as face characters though, I think the masks are kind of scary. :scared:

Although I would think that the masked characters would be more of a scarey thing for a child, when we took our oldest grandson who was 3 then to Disneyland for the first time, he would only interact with those characters WITH masks on! He was scared of the ones in costume but without masks like Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan and Wendy, etc.!! I thought it was funny, but that's the way the day went. Also, we have 2 Dalmations and when we saw Cruella de Ville, I told him to tell her about Scarlett and Ashley and he did, but then she said to him, "I'd like to BORROW them for the weekend!" And boy, did that freak him out! He let Grandpa get his picture with her and he jumped back into the safety of his stroller!

Princess Fantasy Faire. On stage, Mulan, Cinderella and Snow White came out to dance during the one we were there for, and then the maidens and sirs (?) showed the kids in the audience how to dance. There was a maypole dance at the end. DS loved it, and the little girls we were with were dressed like princesses and especially loved it! :love:

this was the finale of a 20 minute game of charades with alice, the mad hatter, and the queen of hearts. they each took turns acting out a disney movie, character, ride, or attraction. this was their version of the 3 ghosts at the end of the haunted mansion.

the mad hatter was awesome, he kept guessing "splash mountain" for everything alice did, even if it was a movie. or he would guess something like "you're checking your deodorant!" one time he acted out a ride by closing his eyes, snoring, and walking really slowly. it was "small world, from the parents perspective!!!"

You have to be a very special kind of person to be one of those characters in my opinion. :worship: The demands must be so high, and yet to be able to make people, young and old so happy, what a special gift. When you see them interact like this, well, that's what Disneyland is all about. :thumbsup2

My grandson was in line to see Captain Hook a few years ago, right when he got to the front of the line, Captain Hook started to walk away. Poor little guy! :sad: So he called out, "Captain Hook! Wait!" and Captain Hook came back and shook his hand and showed him his hook and his sword...made my grandson's day...and mine too. It was awfully sweet of him to come back like that for a little 3 year old fan. :yay: I have some adorable pictures of it, when I am able to, I'll be posting them!

In all seriousness, that movie means a lot to me, and I was one of the few single adult men in the line that night. I really appreciate Aurora's "friend" that night for her kindness. While she has no idea what the film means to me, she gave me as much attention as she did any other guest in line.

In all seriousness, that movie means a lot to me, and I was one of the few single adult men in the line that night. I really appreciate Aurora's "friend" that night for her kindness. While she has no idea what the film means to me, she gave me as much attention as she did any other guest in line.

It's so funny, because as adults you know that it's a girl dressed up as a princess, but you can't help but get all "Omg!" just like a little kid would that doesn't know the difference, you know what I mean? At least that's how it is for me.

How does it work..getting your photo taken with a character?? Do you wait in line, do they wonder around and you just grab them??

You'll see some walking around and people just sorta go up to them and somehow there's some sort of line and you get your turn. Some will have lines that you just hop into.

You can also do a character meal and they come to your table.

Then, of course, you can get the Disney Visa and have a personal, private meet and greet with some characters each day you go to DCA.
