I was just wondering, does Disneyland have PhotoPass? I really liked that feature at WDW. It was fun to play with the layouts at home before ordering. I was just reading info at another site and it sounded like maybe DL doesn't have that feature yet.

They don't have it although I believe there is a rumor they will be getting it sometime in the future.

while we were there in September a cast member mentioned the reason the photo shop on mainstreet was closed is because they were converting it for the photopass feature. Hoping it is complete now, because that is a great feature and you can purchase the photos after you head home.

Around the park you will have CM's who have digital cameras and will take your picture, the first time you do this, pick up a card from the called a photopass card (if DLR has them, but this is how it works in WDW). It is a hard plastic card like a credit card with a barcode and number on the back. Each time you have your pictures taken by a CM photographer, hand them your card (if you forgot it, ask for a new one). Every couple of hours they will submit their photos to the main station in the park and you can then go view your photos there. You can also view them online as well, but you have to have your photopass card number.

You get the same features online that you can get at the parks, such as adding a border or now even making holiday greeting cards.
I just wished they offered small sized photos then 5x7.

I hope this is in place by Easter, we experienced it in WDW and it works great, and I understand you can now buy a CD with all the photos on for $99. I am going solo with dd so it would be a great way to get some photos of both of us together, I think the effects are great too, we had one with Stich, but I saw on another thread a divine photo with tinkerbell in the palm of a little girls hand!

When we were at WDW for Christmas, they had a package that came with wallet's too. . .

They had it when we were there in mid-November. It was GREAT! We came home and looked our photos online and ordered them from home. No waiting in line for the photos. They give you a card when they take the first photo of the day and then add the photos throughout the day, to that one card. That way, you sign in the website, and they are all there to view and order. :)

Stupid question - but how do they prevent people from just grabbing the photos off their computer at home and printing from home? Are they watermarked?

They only show you small, low quality thumb nails that you cannot save on your computer at ALL (well only if you hit PrtSc - but then the quality is terrible). Dinsey is smart enough to get around people just trying to get them for free.

Hi Adi,
I'll confirm that they do indeed have PhotoPass at DLA, or at least they had it yesterday when I was there (I'm holding my PhotoPass card now). At $12.95 for a single 5x7 though, their prices are a bit too high for my taste. :sad1:

But on the website you can get the CD, make a photobook, etc.
I know people on the WDW board are getting together to split the cost of the CD - because you can put a lot of cards on one CD.

Up to 12 cards on one cd, they had to allow this because so many people end up with mulitple cards. The CD price is going up this spring, as they will begin including the enhancements that they now add to the in park/home purchased photos. As of right now you don't get any enhancements on the disc.

They have it now but you won't find them all over like you do at WDW. Hopefully they will get more locations in the future. At WDW you almost don't need your camera if you like Photopass.
