I will no longer be posting the answers I am tired of being called a cheater and do not welcome these unwelcome quests. from other boards putting us down here on the DIS.For any loyal DISer out there that wants to PM me or email me I will be happy to give you the addy to another board that does.I will not give this addy out freely to just anyone because I do not want their board inundated with the unwelcome quests that we seem to be getting.I am also removing my answers for today. This is not to hurt anyone here but to keep these people from making us a target .I do not need this stress. I hope you,my friends here at the DIS understand.

I had missed the controversy on this but am sorry to hear you were given a hard time Mal, I think it unfortunate someone who gives so freely of her advice and time should have this happen, please know that many, many of us appreciate all the help you bestow on us!!:)

Dear Mal
Anybody who spends any amount of time on this board knows that you are certainly not a "cheater." If anything you are always there to remind us to keep the terms of service of any program in mind and to take the moral high ground concerning the rules of any program.
I've always admired your character and how you look out for all of us especially the new rewards boards members who are just learning the ropes. I don't know what comments have been made, but I know you to be fairly thick-skinned, so I imagine they have been pretty hateful. Blow them off. We love you.
Hugs,
Debbie

Mal , I know you don't need a "knight in shining armor" or "knight with dexterous fingers" for that matter but.....
Whoever thinks your cheating, in my opinion, is a moron.

Oh Mal...cheater and your name do not even belong in the same sentence!!! I am so sorry someone is giving you a hard time...I do hope you have notified one of the Moderators on this board if anything has occured within the DIS...You certainly don't need that!

I also missed the controversy on this (just got back from Disney). I don't know what the RTV program is but I agree that you are not a cheater and no one has the right to call you one. You obviously checked into whether or not it was allowed to post answers and there were no rules against it. I appreciate all the hard work you do in your postings and to keep the boards a fun place to visit.
Keep your chin up.

Mal I missed whatever it is that happened to cause this. I just wanted to say that your help here on the boards is greatly appreciated. Whoever called you a cheater was wrong to do so.

Mal, thanks for letting us know. I think one reason why some of us come here is to get away from the catty, smart a@@ remarks that are all over some of the other boards. It's shameful that they felt the need to go through the whole registration process to do nothing more than flame.... must be pretty bored.

"It's shameful that they felt the need to go through the whole registration process to do nothing more than flame.... must be pretty bored."
I went back to re-read what I, and the other newbies posted in that thread to get you all so fired up and I really can't say that there was anything derrogative in any of those posts. I found this board on a fluke and thought it looked like a nice place....I was lurking for a bit before reading Malificent's poll and thought it would be nice of me to alert you all to the fact that other people were going to be using your RTV answers.....I'm sure that was the case with the other posters' intentions as I saw NOTHING negative in any of those posts. I guess some people can just take criticism a little better than others, kind of weird that you all are so freaked out about a few strangers trying to help you out.

I don't feel it's cheating. I just signed up to this message board last week. I really could use the help to get the answers even when I have watched the shows. I am really sorry not to be able to get the answers here anymore though. It's too bad that some people have to ruin it for others.
My family is a big Disney fan. We just got back from WDW this past August. We had been looking for a good message board about WDW. Hubby will be really happy to know this exists.

cmairi,
Please understand that we are a pretty close knit group here, so when one of us gets "picked on" the rest of us will come to thier aid. I read some of the post and found some of them "stand-offish" at best and inflamatory at worst, depending on the readers mood.
That being said I would like to apologize for my childish post. I hope that whoever does post in the future realizes that the written word can be taken in so many different ways. Without the benefit of facial and tonal expressions it is very difficult to ascertain what is meant in some posts.

Mal, don't let someone who seems to have signed on to start trouble make you change how you do things. If cmairi is for real, I'm not sure what he/she thought the rewards board was all about if not for helping each other with rewards programs. It also seems a bit strange that so many newbies showed up on the same thread at the same time (those profiles are a bit skimpy). Sometimes I think that people who were small fish in the un-moderated newsgroups on the net(got their you-know-whats spanked), come to these kinds of sites so they can feel big. cmairi should head on over to the debate board and start a thread about pool hopping or refillable mugs, that would keep him/her going for a while.

Okay, I will reword what I was trying to say.
It's shameful that they (meaning any poster that has never posted here before, felt free to look and get all of the information that they needed about any program) felt the need to go through the whole registration process to do nothing more than flame (instead of taking the opportunity after registering to post with helpful information, just to say hi, to thank someone on the board that had helpful information).... must be pretty bored

It was not the other posters that got to me it was your postThough I would really love to be able to cheat at this rewards program if that is not a scarcastic remark calling us all cheaters I don't know what is.As I stated in my other post I will not get into an arguement with you over this.Because that is what you intended in the first place to insult. It is over.Like I said any DISer who would like the addy to the other board I will be happy to send it to you but I will not be posting the answers any longer nor do I think for the time being any DISer should but that is up to them.My rep here is way too valuble to me to even have one person consider this an impropriety is too much for me.
Mal
PS and Dana and Dave I don't think either of your responses needed rewording.

I have been lurking on this board for a wile now and figured I had better put my two cents in, I for one am all for the answers being poste, I actually just signed up for this program and I don't do it faithfully, so when I do do it the answers sometimes are helpful, and I would like to know where to go to get them.
thanks

Mal,
I haven't been on much lately and I do not do the program in question, so I've missed most of what seems to be going here. What I do want to do is add my support that if there is one thing I'm sure of is that you would NEVER cheat!!! Those of us who have been here long enough to know what goes on here certainly know that!! I hope that new poster will be sure to have all the facts straight before they decide they need to offer any more "help". IMHO, help is answering questions and providing assistance to people trying to get started in doint these rewards programs, and that is what you do very generously. I hope you will continue to be there for all of us as you have been in the past, as your help has meant so much to so many of us.

Well, OK, I'm a newbie, but I found out about this board and joined because there WAS help with some of the rewards programs! I don't understand the problem some people have with this issue....if the program is getting paid based on our answers, whether it is to trivia or questions about a TV program, how are we hurting them? Morality aside, and frankly I see nothing morally questionable about people helping each other, I have never found anything in any rewards program's TOS stating that one must seek out these answers without any help from anyone. These program people read these boards, and some of them are even posters. They know that we help each other. Do you not suppose that if they objected to it they would say so in their TOS?

thanks my point exactly.and welcome I hope you stay and start posting.

PS I also hope most of the others newbies stay even the ones that disagree with posting the answers it is not that opinion I have had this problem with and I hope they realize this.

I don't know about the RTV because I don't know what it is but please don't stop posting the answers to Milesources trivia!!!!!!! I am not very good at finding the right answers :(
I think what you do is great and I don't think you should stop doing what you are doing ... that is unless you want to.
I just think that you are wonderful for posting the answers for us!!!!!

Mal,
I also would like to say that the slamming you got on posting was totally undeserved. These boards were my lifeline when we were planning our Disney trip! And I just stumbled across you answers for RewardTv and greatly appreciated them! With 4 children, I don't have alot of time to watch TV, and the shows I see are just bits and pieces. I try to do as many programs to save towards Christmas and other gift giving.
I think that your helping with the questions was your gift to the rest of us! And I offer you many many thanks! As far as the negative posts, I really feel that on any board the people that post negative responses are negative themselves, and should lighten up. Everything offered on any board should help others, not ever be addressed in such a opinionated way. I believe there are boards for just those types of posts.
Once again, I will miss your posts on RewardTV, but look forward to your others!

I am so sorry if I offended anyone with my post. I have been "lurking" here for a long time and decided to register. I didn't go through the registration process to get anyone mad or start anything. I know from reading these boards that Mal always is very helpful, and will go out of her way to help. I am really sorry. I guess my first post shouldn't have been on this subject.

I normally don't respond to these types of posts, but this time I had to put my two cents in. I don't like to see people come to the board and leave so quickly. Personally, I think this whole situation has been blown out of proportion. I don't think cmairi was "slamming" Mal and I think Mal overreacted a little bit. Cmairi does have a couple good points and there are plenty of people who could view our helpful posts as cheating. Remember, it's just a point of view. I don't think any of the responses were meant to be inflammatory and I think it's fair to remember, as jdads2 said, facial expressions and tone of voice does not translate well when typed. Sometimes what you may see as an accusation really isn't. I know I've been a bit touchy since 911. Let's just let it drop and get back to rewarding!!
Thanks for letting me post my opinion. Have a great day!
Lisa

I think maybe posting the commercials would be alright ,since companies pay to have their product advertised ...it would be a sort of advertisement for them and let people know about their product whether or not they watched the show:wave: I have been a lurker and am just voiceing my opinion in this controversy.....

Hi guys even though it look like I am a newbie I have been a lurker for over a year. I would just like to say Mal you are not a cheater and never could be. I appreciate all your help with the programs and contests and hope you please don't stop . with love tigger:D

I've been a lurker on the board for a while and finally registered because of this rewardtv thing. There is a yahoogroup called rewardtvplayers for anyone interested in getting answers to the commercials or about the best prizes to go for, etc. It's a really positive group, so please don't join if you just want to flame people for posting answers.

Well, all I know is I miss Mal posting the answers to the Reward tv trivia! I love this board...It is one of my favorites here and my own personal opinion is that it is here to help others with reward programs...If we stop posting the answers to one reward program because some feel it is not right, then why is it okay to post Milesource, Netflip, ect?? I mean, they are all the same...but I do understand, Mal...I hope we all can get along and go back to what this board has become! A community of friends!!
Welcome to all the newbies here!! Glad to have ya!

If you want to join the group that posts answers to reward tv, send an email to rewardtvplayers-subscribe@yahoogroups.com - Or go to www. yahoogroups.com and type rewardtvplayers in the search box and join from there.
I agree about the posting answers to reward programs, if you're going to post answers to one of them, seems to me you can post answers to all of them. These companies are not stupid. They know about message boards and email and all the ways to share answers. With Reward TV, you could just as easily record the shows, watch them and then pass them on to your aunt, cousin, friend, sister, mother, etc. and then let them watch them and get the answers that way. This is just easier. I do watch the shows, but sometimes my 3yr old may need me for something or the phone may ring and I miss a part.. that's what I have the group for.. to fill me in where I missed out.
Anyway, everyone is welcome in the group, just send us an email to rewardtvplayers-subscribe@yahoogroups.com
