DAY 5 - 19th December 2005

Weather Report: Cloud, cool, some sun. Cold evening.

An Epcot Sort of Day

We had arranged to meet Lorraine and family by the Fastpass machine at Soarin'. It was an EMH morning in Epcot, so we got there quite early. We got FPs for Soarin' so we could ride again later and then we all went lined up in the queue to ride there and then. It was about a 30 min. wait. It was the first time we had ridden Soarin', and we all enjoyed it.
After Soarin' we went on the Land Ride, this was the first time we had done this ride too! After the Land Ride we went back and used our Soarin' FP.
We headed over and FPs for Test Track. We had lunch booked at the Le Chef de FRance for 2pm, so we decided to take a slow work around the World Showcase. On the way round we jumped on the Maelstrom ride in Norway, and actually stayed to watch the film at the end!

We were still early when we arrived in France, so we asked if they could let us in early - they said it would be a 30 minute wait, so we hung around outside in the sun. The French chair man came out to do this routine, and we all stood and watched him. Just after the Chair man had finished we were called in for our lunch.

Dining Review:
Me and Julie - Vegetable Soup followed by Steak with 'Pont Neuf Fries and pepper suace.
Girls had a plain steak for fries.
Drinks - 4 cokes
The soup was delicious, but the steak was a bit dry. Julie didn't like the fries much.
Lorraine had the snails (YUK!). Julie tried one and said they were quite nice!
Total cost - $93.19 (after DDE discount and 18% Gratuity)

After lunch we headed back to use out Test Track FP, and as we were walking towards Mission Space someone approached us and gave us a Return Pass for 6 people! That was nice of them :)
We were all a bit tired, so we decided to head back to the Dolphin for a rest. We arranged with Lorraine to meet later to watch Illuminations.

After a nice rest back in the hotel, we met Lorraine again in between China and Norway to watch Illuminations. We chose the right side this time - the smoke blew away from us :)

After Illuminations, we made the arrangement to meet up with Lorraine at Boma the night after next and headed round to the International Gateway. We walked via the Boardwalk tonight, and called in at the Boardwalk Bakery for somehot chocolate and cakes :)

Sounds like you had a great day at Epcot Tim. Soarin' is a great ride. What was the Norway film like - I must confess to being one of those who walks striaght through and out the other side :guilty: Were you the only ones in there ;)

A great report from Epcot, we were there in the evening too. Was Maelstrom any good ? We've never done it, would you recommend it ? :)

Maelstrom is fun, it's short but entertaining :)

I must admit I was nodding off during the Norway film :) There were quite few folks that stayed to watch it.

When you get to the Norway shop - don't look at the price of the sweaters and jumpers!
The Helly Hansen coats looked good value though :)
