Nice to meet you. When is your next trip to WDW?

DH, DS6, DS4 and I are going in April for our first trip to WDW. DH and I were there over 15 years ago and thought it's time to introduce it to the kids. We can't wait.

Used to live in Racine. Moved to Minneapolis last January.

Have a wonderful time with the kids in Disney. :cool1: You'll love it. You see things in a whole new light when you're with children. Are all of your plans made?

Hi!

I am from the Milwaukee area! West Allis to exact! Yeah for Wisconsinites!!!! I have been going to WDW every year now for the last 5 or 6 years or so. Sometimes we drive and sometimes we fly. I am actually getting married there in April. When are you planning on going?

I'm your southern neighbor. I live in the world of "kringle" - Racine! It isn't any warmer "down" here. I would love to be going to Disney but we went in November. I knew we should have waited. I am dying for sun and warmth now! We have gone about 6 times since 1996. We have driven several times and flown twice. We purchased into the DVC in 1999 and have stayed at many of the DVC resorts. We are spoiled now and want the better accomodations! We stayed at ASMu in November because it was last minute and not much was available. It was not so great. Too small and the bed was uncomfortable and small. I want to go again soon but I don't know when we actually will get there. Two kids in college makes it tough. Have fun when you go and lasso the sun. Bring it here for awhile.

WOW! :cool1:

So awesome to see so many from the area. I never thought there would be so many of us. Pretty neat.

Beagle744...we use to live in Bayview. We were living in DH's Grandparents house for 8 years. Loved it. The neighborhood had some problems that were too much with 2 small kids. Since we moved summer 2004, it's improved 100%. Not bothered that we moved though. Love our new house. It's my dream home.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Question...how long does it take to drive to WDW from here? Just curious for our next trip. Might be a option to save on airfare.

I'm from WI too. :) Way up North outside of the Twin Ports (Duluth/Superior) I can see the lake every morning on my way to work. Lots of cold and snow but wouldn't change a thing. We just got back on Saturday. I need to readjust to the temp change.

Forgot to add that we drive. A big bus with 3 drivers...staight thru in around 27 to 30 hours. We can do it in 25 hours in a car. (faster speed limit thru ILL in a car then a bus.

We drive down every year. Straight thru, stopping only for gas, it takes us 19.5 to 20 hours. We leave about 7 pm this puts us through Chicago and other major cities at good times. We do this with small childeren. This year they will be 5 & 6 yrs old. We have movies in the van to keep them quiet.

Hi all, from the brat capital, Sheboygan. We were in WDW in Dec. for over a week. Just before the big crowds came. It was fantastic no lines, good weather, and lots of Pixie Dust. Paula70 you are going the same time that we have traditionally gone you should have a great time. This is the first time in awhile that we don't have a trip on the books. But, we are going to build a new home and that is where our $ will be going for awhile. I will have to relie on the Dis for my Disney fix for awhile. :wizard:

We fly.

Actually ... we have driven twice. Once over 1999/2000 NYE when airfares and car rentals were astronomical. Then a couple years later when we visited my in-laws in Syracuse and then drove down. We stopped both times each way ... I find myself too burned out by doing a "straight thru" drive.

Hi all,

I am checking in from Casco, WI. Casco is 20 miles NE of Green Bay and about 5 miles south of Door County.

Hi Abe bb,
My mom lives in Eau Claire. Do your kids play basketball for Memorial?

Well you have certainly come to the right spot to find out about Disney. I found this site before our first trip to Disney in '05 and have spent many hours on it.

Enjoy!!!

We are in Stevens Point. Great town and I like being in the middle of the state (our families are further "up north", but not too far).

I have been planning a "girls' trip" (my Mom, my DD 6, and me) for the last few months and now it is coming up in only 16 days!!! I can't wait. My DD6 has grounded me from talking about the trip, because I was "driving her nuts". :rotfl2:

Hi all! I'm checking in from Wisconsin too! (Green Bay area) and why are flights so much cheaper out of MKE instead of GRB?? That frustrates me! ::yes::

Have fun on your trip hickchik! Sounds like a great time and yes my children & dh wouldn't let me talk about our trip anymore when we had a month to go, b/c they were sick about me talking about all the GREAT things I learned on this board!

We live in Oshkosh. My dh is from Minneapolis, but we've lived all over the east side of the state for the last 6 1/2 years. We're planning our first family vacation to Disney World for May 19-27. This will be the very first trip for them, I was there when I was 10, but we didn't go to MK. I'm really excited to finally be going there! :teeth:

We drove when I went last time, and it wasn't a great time. I don't think I could handle driving down there with the dd6 and ds16mo, so we're flying. I wish we didn't have to drive down to Milwaukee to fly out, but at least it's not too far from here. I'm getting so excited, and it's over 4 months away. :(

Hello from Oshkosh. We can't wait for our Oct/Nov. trip to Disney. Last trip to FL in Dec 04, we went to IOA and the man who ran our tickets at the gate noticed my DS's WI shirt and said the man at the next gate was a cheesehead too! Turns out he retired to FL from Plymouth, WI that year! As cold as today was, sounds like a good plan to me!
