I am so excited  I just booked our first Disney Cruise.

Dec 2, 2006 Magic. How soon would you reccomend applying for our passports?

Congratulations, you will love the cruise.

I suggest getting the passports no later than early summer. Now would be better. Avoid the rush since EVERYONE must have them by the end of the year AND everyone sailing after December 28, 2006 will have to give DCL their passport number 75 days before sailing. I would go ahead and "get with the program" as the kids say.

I, too, think you should apply ASAP. With everyone needing one to travel outside of the country by the end of the year, it could, quite possibbly, delay getting them back. Besides, once done, you can cross that off your list of "things to do".

Passports aren't required until 2007, but it's not a bad idea to get them.

Last night was the first time that I was asked about Passport numbers/expiration date by DCL. I asked if this is a new requirement and they said no, but it makes it easier to check in.

Get ready 2007 cruisers. You're going to need a passport. :flower:

For those who waited until 2006 to get their passports, there is now a $12 security fee tacked onto the cost of passport. This means that a new passport will cost $97, instead of $85. Renewals will be $67 instead of $55.

I was talking with someone about this at our local probate court this week and I agree with her. If $12 helps our travel security, I am more than willing to pay it. Total cost for a new passport still equates to less than $10 per year.
