If you are tired of just burgers and dogs at counter service restaurants Just wanted to offer some great counter service tips as we just returned from using the dining plan. If you are on the dining plan or not are are some great locations with great food options:

In Downtown Disney:

Wolfgang Puck Express In the marketplace WPE has great food choices and amazing pizza's.

Earl of Sandwich - A nice unique sandwich place that offers hot/cold sandwiches as well as gourmet salads.

Tusker House in Animal Kingdom great salmon and really good chicken.

Sunshine Seasons in The Land at Epcot - tasty salmon and amazing desserts

We were thinking about Cosmic Rays and Columbia Harbour house!

Any thoughts on them?

ezmark, are these counter service meals on the dining plan. Do you have to order these at lunch time? I'm confused. We are heading to DD one evening and this was going to be our pay out of pocket night since we are doubling up on our TS to do Hoop Dee Doo. If I could use a Counter service for the Wolfgang Puck express or Earl of Sandwhich I would be happy.

Our favorites for a "not your average burgers and chicken strips" counter service meal -

The Tomorrowland Noodle Station (Yummy shrimp pad thai!)

Tangierine Cafe in Mororcco at Epcot (We love everything here!!)

Columbia Harbor House (Great clam chowder and fish and a nice, quiet break from the parks!)

Chakranadi Chicken Shop at Animal Kingdom (Tasy asian inspired dishes.)

Artist Pallette at Saratoga Springs (Really different and tasy offerings. We really enjoy the Chicken and Artichoke Flatbread and the Turkey and Brie Sandwhich. YUM!)

And, we love, love, love Earl of Sandwhich!!!!!! :Pinkbounc

Hi June - Love Cosmic Rays at MK and they do offer a huge variety of offerings, have never been to Harbour House.

Cmbar - yes all I have mentioned are on the dining plan. Your meals can be used any way you want them you just need to know counter vs table service but can be used for Breakfast Lunch or Dinner so as long as you have a counter meal available then USE IT do not pay out of pocket! While Hoop De Doo did cost you an extra table service you can use a counter service for dinner. Between the two choices I would eat at Wolfgang Puck Express the food is higher end and more expensive.. Don't get me wrong I love Earl of Sandwich but when it comes to pricing WPE is more expensive...

Enjoy everyone!

Some of my counter-service faves have already been mentioned.

I love the roasted half-chicken at Tusker House.

Shrimp Pad Thai at Noodle Station is awesome (and a huge portion).

Cuban sandwich at the ABC Commisary is delish.

So is the grilled turkey sandwich at Backlot Express.

I am a huge fan of fish and chips from Yorkshire County Fish Shop in Epcot.

Shanghai Grilled Chicken at Lotus Blossom Cafe is terrific (just a little hot).

Chicken Quesidilla from the All-Star resort food courts is great.

rotisserie chicken/mashed potatoes/gravy/green beans @ Tusker House (AK)

Dole whip float (pineapple) at MK

Chocolate chip muffins at Sunshine Season in The Land (so yummy I got them every day!)

Fish and chips at Epcot (the take-out window in England)

Wolfgang Puck Cafe in DTD - great chicken quesadilla, but ask for the sauces and salsa on the side (or it drowns in sauce!)

Another vote for Tusker House! Best CS meal we had! I had salmon and DH had pork of some sort (can't remember).
