$59 rooms at All Star resorts

Not sure if this is because of recent events, but Disney is currently offering rooms for $59 per night (http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/waltdisneyworld/resorts/recreation/recreationindex?id=InternetSpecial59) at the All-Star resorts. I think the rate is available from now until Christmas with the exception of a week around Thanksgiving.

I have no idea. I knew that they did that during the Summer because of the slowing economy and probly because of the recent attacks on America, they may extend that for awhile but probly not into Thanksgiving and Christmas unless they are really desperate.

The $59 rate is not a response to the events of 9/11. I have a confirmed ressie for All_stars for Dec 8 at that rate. My confiration is dated 8/5/01. I used a code that was published in the Washington Post Travel sections for at least two straight Sundays in August (maybe last of July/1st of Aug). I don't think Disney can afford to charge much less.

Wow. That's not even an AP discount with those rates.

I just got off the phone and was able to book a room at the Movies for $49. I used the AP discount but also could have used the Florida resident discount. The reservationist said that there is availability during the week, but mostly full on the weekends. Thats OK because we are staying at VWL for Fri, Sat, and Sun. Wife kept bugging me to go up early so this price worked out very well.
