Well, with everything going on this summer in combination with being a tad bit lazy, i needed a new start.

A couple coworkers and i decided to do a weightloss incentive thing together..We measured and weighed ourselves on 8/25...We will do so again on 9/25 and at the end of every month. The deal is if we stay the same, or lose the weight/inches, its good, but if we gain, 10 dollars goes into the pot..At the end, the person that loses the most, gets the money..

This is what im starting at..

157 lbs (not happy with this at all!)
Waist-29.5 inches
Arms-11 inches
Legs-23.2 inches
Hips-42.9 inches
chest-35.4 inches

My Mini goal is to get down to 150 by Nov 12 (when i leave for teh cruise)
Ideally, id love to be down to 140 again..
I am drinking at least 64oz of water a day as well as exercising...now i just need to stay motivated

My NEW and IMPROVED Goal: (The National Body Challenge didn't like my original goal) BMI of 19.0; healthier eating habits; increased muscle tone, strength and endurance; better-fitting (or loose!) clothes.

My Plan: Modified version of low-carb, similar to South Beach based on the gestational diabetes diet. And exercise, exercise, exercise! DD is my perpetual "kick in the rear" -- I can loan her out to anyone else who needs a 5yo running buddy...

My Progress: Getting closer: BMI = 19.9 (down from 21.3).

Okay I'm on board. I've even talked to DH about doing the 1/2 marathon and he says he's game if I'll make him a Hero t-shirt! :rotfl2: I have to get the designer to change the lifted up part over to the marathon from the weightloss though. If DH lost anymore weight, he would disappear. It's so annoying. Anyway, on to me...

Goal: Lose 20 pounds

We try to use this thread as a weekly weigh in place. Weigh yourself, post your goals, etc. and then edit it weekly. As Deb said, come over to the Weight loss accountability thread to chat and get encouragement. We celebrate all the losses, and support through all the gains. We'd love to have your company! All are welcome here!

Hello everyone, I'm Ashley and I just started dieting/exercising last week. Actually, It's not really a diet, just eatting healthier, drinking ALOT less soda and more water, and exercise every night with my husband. We started last week, were doing really well going to our apartment community gym for 2 nights in a row, until I got a horrible cold! Last night was our first night going back to working out.

My Goal: Lose 40 pounds before my Disney trip (September 22), get used to walking so my legs don't ache so bad during our trip!!!

I actually lost 3 pounds last week because I was sick and didn't eat much! Hey that counts right?? =)

A quick update since I forgot to do it on Tuesday! I lost another 2 pounds this week for a grand total of 32 pounds lost. Even better than that is that I am down FOUR sizes in jeans! I cannot believe how well this walking is working out :)

Since I teach, I needed to go ahead and buy a few things already. So, I have four new pairs of pants, a pair of jeans and 5 new tops. Ought to get me through the end of the school year! Next time I shop I think I will be out of the plus sizes. And, thanks again, Deb

MY GOAL: To lose 15 pounds (have lost 40 with WW from Sep 04-Sep05)

MY PLAN: To stay on track and try not to loose sight of what I want for myself and kids. I canít very well run and play if I am to heavy.

Exercise: With the winter almost over (very hard to stay out of the blues) I hope to take the girls on more walks, this should be good exercise. Along with showing the girls a few exercises we can do in the house together. Crunches, push-up, leg lifts and the bestÖ. Dancing to Disney Songs!

Diet: Stay w/I my pts for each week and not beat myself up when I donít.

I made my 10% goal at weight watchers and received my 10% keychain. I have now lost over 15 lbs on weight watchers in just 12 weeks!!!! I set my final goal weight at 130 lbs which means I have 13.4 lbs left to lose. Technically I am within my weight range now and could decide to maintain at this weight and become a lifetime member. I still want to lose more so I'm setting the goal. I can do it in great part because of you all.

Thanks

Can I join you all?

I m heavier than I ve ever been, and I m tired of it.

I need to make appropriate lifestyle changes so that I will be around for my kids. My plan: at least 10 min a day, and 3 times a week I will walk at least 16000 steps.
Diet:Weight Watchers
My goal, to lose 30 pounds by the time we go to Disney in April, to be in better physical health so that I can enjoy it more...and to continue it when I get home.

Hi everyone! I am really going to set my mind & do this.

First Goal: Lose 10 pounds by March 1st
Second Goal: Lose another 20 pounds by Dec. 1st

I am going to watch what I eat & curb the sweets. I will also drink more water. I will try to start walking more for exercise & then once I lose some weight, I will concentrate more on exercising.

I want to be able to fit into my smaller clothes & not cringe when I look at myself in the mirror. I tell everyone that I am happy with myself & this is me. But I am not & I need to quit trying to kid myself.

Start weight: 1/02/07 - 160 lbs
1/9/07-158 lbs Loss of 2 lbs :cheer2:

I need to join you guys. I gained 25 lbs in my first year of marriage and thought i was just getting older. I went to the doctor after being sick way too many times in a year (once at WDW). He told me that my thyroid was shot, and hence the weight gain. Things are going better now, however, I have never lost the weight. I've gained about 10lbs in the last year or so on top, so I have about 40 lbs to lose. UGH. I really need to do it!

MY GOAL: To lose 40 pounds

MY PLAN:
Excersize at least 4 times a week for at least 30 minutes. Also, NO MORE POP(soda), and healthier eating!

PROGRESS: 40 lbs yet to lose

That is not impossible. I lost 50 lbs in 4 months on Atkins in 2003. Kept it off too for about 1 1/2 years, then I slowly regained 12 lbs and joined WW. Those 12 lbs are gone and now I'm working on what I didn't lose the first time.

MY GOAL: To lose 15-20 pounds

MY PLAN:
Exercise: 30 minutes of cardio 5 times a week, with weight training twice a week
Diet: Weight Watchers flex
64 ozs of water a day

PROGRESS:
1/7/06: 20 pounds to go
1/14/06: 19 pounds to go, exercised only 2 times
1/21/06: 19 pounds to go, sick (Sinus Infec)
1/28/06: 18.5 pounds to go, no exercise b/c SI
2/25/06: 17.5 pounds to go, elliptical 5x week
6/22/06: 7.5 pounds from WW goal!!!
02/07/07: AT Goal (but only first thing in the morning)

Now I need to lose 3 or 4 more so that I weigh at goal with clothes on as well as after a cup of coffee!

As many of you know, my weight started going down again when my mother got sick. I suddenly realized I was at goal, but it's been so hard the last couple of months to keep the weight off. I really don't think I was ever meant to be a small person.

Once I'm healthy again (rid of the sinus infections and current flu bug) I'm going to try to help control it with exercise. I really need to commit to the exercise if I want to keep the weight off. Also, I think getting involved in this thread again will help.

the exercise commitment is the one that seems most difficult. I have the worst time making myself exercise even though I know that I must if I want to make and stay at goal. I keep hoping that warmer weather will bring motivation. I'm sure I'll come up with some other excuse when the warmer temps come :rolleyes1

I can finally say that I have met one of my goals. Stephanie and I have been doing Weight Watchers. I have been losing a little at a time but not as much as I would like. I know it takes time but I guess I wanted bigger results.
When I went to the Dr recently, I realized that back in August I weighed 170 lbs. Now I weigh 153 lbs. In fact, my blood pressure is back down to normal.

The best was when Stephanie and I went shopping tonight. I have been wearing size 14 pants and knew they were looking baggy. I tried on a pair of 12 jeans and they were a little big. Stephanie brought me a size 10 and they look great :cool1: :cool1:
That was just the boost I needed. Now back to work to tone up and maybe go down another size. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'm glad to see this thread revived a bit! You all are such an inspiration to me. I have decided to start a weight loss journal if you're interested in following it (link in my sig), but will recommit my goals here as well!

... Well, forget recommit, I can't even remember where the heck I was when I made the first ones. :rotfl: New goals, plan, etc:

WEIGHT GOAL: 15 pounds, then we'll see :)
PLAN: To start, write everything down, and I mean everything! Drink at least 8 glasses of water. Formulate a real diet and exercise plan in the very near future. Exercise at least 3 times a week to start, building back up to running almost daily, as my knee and MD permit
PROGRESS:
05/31/07 -- 0/15 pounds lost

Total weight lost and kept off is 110 pounds. I am very proud of that accomplishment, but want to take off another 50 pounds.

So, beginning today:

Hi Everyone . . . I've been meaning to come by to say "hi" all week. I started on a commitment to lose some weight and get healthy on Mon. Aug. 27. I've had a good week . . . healthy eating and even exercising!! I must admit, I haven't been able to commit to this type of thing in few years, so this has been a big week for me.

Not feeling any weight relief at all yet (not even water loss), I decided to jump on a scale this morning just to peek to see if I'm starting to go in the right direction . . .
I GAINED 2 pounds:scared1:

Suprisingly, it didn't get me down, and I did my walk this morning anyway. Normally, this type of result would just knock me right down, so I hope this is a sign that I'm in this for the long haul this time . . . . I've read some fantastic weight loss stories on the DDA Trouble-free thread that truly inspire me!!

I'm calling it "Maria's Cruise to Lose" (see signature:) ) and I'm looking forward to posting here for motivation and support!

I don't know what protocol is on this board, but I do plan to post my results regularily. Thanks for reading:goodvibes

With a new year comes renewed committment. I am happy to report that I did not gain as much weight last year as I have in the past :cool1: That being said I have put on about 10 lbs and that isn't good. Chris and I both started our diets on January 1st. It seems much harder sticking to them than we remember, but we are trying.

As of 2 AM on Jan 1 2008 I weighed in at 150.4 lbs I guess that means I will weigh in on tuesdays.

I can't weight to hear from all of you. Go DDA team.

OK--just joined Weight Watchers Online, so maybe posting here will help me stay on track! Can I be a part of this?

January 1, 2006 I weighed 303 pounds (I'm 6' tall).
Today, 2 years later, I weigh 268 pounds. (No dieting, just portion control, trying to be more active)
Goal for January 2009: 200 pounds
Goal by June 16, 2008 (beginning of trip to the beach): 233 pounds

PLAN:
Joined Weight Watchers Online today
At least 20 minutes of exercise 5 days per week

Wish me luck!

Ok gang....I am finally getting back in the groove starting this week.
I am  to say that I gained back 10lbs over the last 3 months, so that is what made me wake up & smell the coffee & realize that if I don't get in gear I will be right back where I started.
I still have off 30 lbs of what I lost.

First goal: to get back off the 10lbs I have gained back
Overall goal: to loose another 45lbs which would about put me at the goal that I think I can reasonably attain.
Plan: Weight Watchers on-line
Excercise: The Firm 3 x a week

I have to loose 100 lb! I would like to be 150lbs...for the first time in my adult life! My weight fluctuates..but i have been about 245lb for the last few years...I loose a bit, put on a bit, then put on a bit more. But enough is enough!
I joined a local slimming group ( UK-Slimming World, large organisation over here...good sensible diet, advocates exercise, no gimmicks!) 3 weeks ago, I have since lost 5.5lb, not brilliant but a start! Finding motivation a bit thin on the ground, unlike me ofcourse:)
Need all the help i can get....and i spend alot of time on DIS...so..

My Plan:
Exercise: Joined the YMCA for the next 3 months. Plan on doing aerobics combined with weight training. My goal is to go 4 to 5 times a week.

1/28/07: 156.5 (-5.5)
2/04/07: 155.8 (-.7) total loss so far is 6.2 lbs

I've been struggling with the diet this time around. I've been working on weight loss for 5 years now. I think I've become a little too comfortable with my weight fluctuating between 140 and 150 lbs which is still down about 50 pounds from where I started. I have noticed that I am getting heartburn again which is what happens when I gain. So yesterday I made some big changes. I cut way back on diet soda and am trying to get in my daily water. I also went back on my weight watcher's diet full force. So far so good. I am also limiting my computer time as I have let that take control of my life and I need to have more active time, even if it just means cleaning the house :rotfl: I'll weigh in next Tuesday as I don't really want to know what the scale says now :rolleyes1

I have the same problem with my GERD/heartburn Deb....the 10lbs I have gained back well I guess it's only 8 now that I lost 2 of it back have made a huge difference. I hate having heartburn so why do I gain the stupid weight back????????? Because it's so easy to do.

Good job getting back on track.

I have seen other DISers talking about a weight loss support system and it seems that I have finally found it. I am 4'11" and weight more than I should. I am hoping to lose atleast 10 lbs before we go to Disney in November (the end of the month) I have started walking, drinking more water and of course cutting my food intake. Smaller portions is my goal. It's wonderful to know that there is a support system here. I wish you all the very best of luck in reaching your weightloss goals.

I am scared it is gonna shorten my life, or mess with my health too much. But could it really be worse than being over geight on the edge of have diabetes tired all the fime, headaches, knee pain horrible hurting feet?

I try to get plenty of excersice but my knees lock up on me and can even walk across the room, dr said i am getting arthritis.

Congrats on your weight loss goal! You can do it!

Just FYI, I had gastric bypass surgery almost 5 years ago, and it was the best thing I could ever have done for myself. I lost 100 pounds, and gained so much self-esteem. It was hard, but I had tried everything, and due to a medical condition, the gastric bypass was the only solution. If you need to talk to someone about the surgery, feel free to PM me. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have!

WTG :cheer2:

My weight has been going in the wrong direction, but I only have myself to blame! I keep saying I need to get back on track, but so far I have not been listening to myself.

Keep up the good work!
