First off, this is not yet an exchange sign up. It's just to get information on when I should start the exchange sign up.
I had done a seed/bulb exchange twice on this board and it's neat to see what everyone recieves, and we even had some buds post pictures of the flowers that had grown from the bulbs/seeds from the exchange.
If you could help me out with some questions, then I could figure out when the best time to hold this exchange would be.
*What month do you start to get your bulbs/seedlings together?
*When do bulbs and seeds start to appear in your stores?
*What price limit would you like this exchange to be? (In the past, we had done a seed packet exchange, and the other was an assorted one so you had buds sending seeds, bulbs, and other gardening items and gardening ornaments).
*Would you prefer to have items just store bought or have it open so that the participants could add in some seeds from their garden, buy things from the store.....?
*Any other info.-

I'm not sure if my fellow buds have seen this post or not.
But I do have some seeds that I am willing to trade for. If you are interested, then just post here.

Hi Patsy!
I haven't done a seed exchange before, but I'd be interested in participating with a seed packet exchange. So, basically I would be looking for an interesting flower for someone else to plant? I have one idea, I've never been successful in growning a specific flower, maybe someone in a different area of the country would be more successful.
At any rate, I hope you get some responses. I was going through some old Christmas papers, and we BUDS had Christmas card exchanges in the past as well.

Thank you for the interest Bobbi. For the past seed exchange that I had hosted on this board, we had each participant include a variety of different seed packets in an envelope and send it to their exchangee.
You would pick out a variety of different seeds or bulbs and send that onto yoru fellow Bud.
I will keep this up till the middle of next week to see if there is anyone else interested, and I will contact those who are interested.

The spring exchange we've done in the past was usually a seed & spring bulbs combo. Exchangers usually list their zone, preferred flower colors, bulb types, needs, wants & wishes. Also nice to include a little something else in the box to do with gardening or disney gardening. I can't remember if we put a $ limit on it but that might be a good idea. The stores here start putting out seeds & bulbs in March :flower3:
The more the merrier :flower: so let's keep this thread at the top.
Here's a pic of glads from one of our exchangeshttp://www.patmedia.net/silhan/f6eeee49.jpghttp://www.patmedia.net/silhan/f6eeee50.jpg

Aren't we just a bit early? Our stores mostly have the old Christmas things where plant material will go.

I have been purchasing at our stores and online all year long, so I know that there are companies that sell them. I also have seeds and bulbs here at home. I guess it depends on your location and companies.

I would have participated, but our garden centers don't even OPEN until mid-March...and I won't shop the big-box garden centers!

Now are the seeds only flowers? What if a person buys a pack of seeds and has way more seeds then they need, could we exchange those too. Just wondering.

Nope, the seeds can be flowers or/and vegetables.
Each participant would fill out a list of questions on what type of seeds/bulbs they prefer, would like to try,.... to give their exchangee a better idea of what they like and their growing area.

That sounds like a very good idea for a different kind of exchange :thumbsup2
An exchange could be fun of just opened packets of seeds. :cool1:
We always have way to many seeds in the pack. I mean really. How many of one kind of veggie seeds do we really need? My garden isn't that big. They just go to waste.
