By the way, my son will turn 16 on the cruise! When we come home (I hate to think about coming home :sad2:), he will taking the test for his permit. Oh nooo!
I think we hit 1,000! :woohoo:
Yeah we we did it hit 1,000!!!! :cool1: :cool1:
Turning 16, I don't even want to think about that. Savannah will be turning 4 the day we get off the cruise. :sad2: Zach will be 9 a week later. We are planning on celebrating their birthdays on Friday at dinner.
I can't wait....is it time to go yet???? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I just wanted to let you know that I official have closed our kitchen. I'm refusing to cook for the next two nights. Just sent DH out for Chinese Food and tomorrow night will be pizza and movie night. The kids will have to have cereal for breakfast and PB&J for lunch. I can not wait for someone to wait on me!!! :worship:

I had to get the girls out of the pool because we could here thunder in the distance. It's about that time for our afteroon thunderstorm!!! So needless to say they are in my house playing musical instruments!!!!!!!! It's ok that I'm on the verge of a migraine!!!
I'm so proud of you with only 5 suitcases and 1 garment bag. I'm sorry to say that we are going to have our 8 bag limit, not to mention the carryons each of us will have. Your sons wouldn't mind if you used their room too for storage would they?
Honestly I'm to the point that I have no idea what I packed!!! :furious:
It looks to me like we both will be very busy tomorrow. I kinda left alot of things to be done Friday so it will make the day go by faster.
I better go and take something for this headache before it gets worse.
Off for now........
I'm sorry to hear you have a headache. I don't get those too often, but my husband suffers migraines. One of our must pack items is his Imitrex. I hope he doesn't need it, but it seems that whenever we are on vacation, he has one or two. Drinking doesn't help either.
I have had to pick up the boys from the pool due to thunderstorms here too. We have a chance of severe thunderstorms tonight, and thunderstorms all day tomorrow. It should be nice for our flight out on Saturday though.
Tomorrow will be crazy. That is good. You had the right idea to keep Friday busy. It will make the day fly by, and before we know it, it will be Saturday. I am getting too excited, and I am feeling the physical symptoms of excitement, stress, nervousness.....all these emotions I am feeling at the same time.
Hope you feel better soon.

Happy and safe travels everyone!
My spouse called to say our lime green Disney shirts came in the mail so we will have them for the DIS meet on Saturday!
We fly out in 26 hours so I still have some packing to do.
Terri
:bday: Happy B'day BTSEN5 son!
That is great!! Lime green shirts will be easy to see.
Enjoy the packing, take it slow, do not stress. :thumbsup2 We are almost there.
Eric says thank you! :bday:

Ok, I've got the last load of laundry in. I figured I would get a jump start on tomorrows long list of things to do. Knowing me I will be done with everything tonight since I can't sleep anyway. Have a mentioned my husband still hasn't started packing. What is he waiting for?? A fairy god mother to wave her magic wand and poof it will be done? pixiedust:
:lmao: He probably is....and her name is?
You sound just like me. I got so much done today that was on tomorrow's list. I know tomorrow will be so busy with my mom and aunt coming, so I picked up, mopped, did my checkbook :sad2: etc. I will wait to do the laundry tomorrow. I have to wash sheets ( I know, why?), and swimsuit for the boys.
My 18 year old needs to go get another one. He is such a procrastinator. It drives me batty. I gave him money weeks ago and he still has not gotten one....money probably spent....now he has a problem. Oh well.

BTSEN5: Happy Birthday to your son! Did he have a party? :cool1:
I think I did OK with our luggage. For 4 people: 5 suitcases, 1 garment bag, and 3 carry-ons. I know my daughter and I overpacked. The guys seem to know how to pack without overpacking. We leave tomorrow morning and fly out of Philadelphia. We should arrive in Orlando around 3:30 p.m. I cannot wait!
Gales: Have a safe trip and thanks for the website. I really enjoyed checking in on everyone. It really added to the excitement of the trip.
See everyone soon!
Thank you TandD. No, he did not have a party. With all the packing and such, he understands that the cruise is basically the party. Now, tomorrow when my mom comes he will have cake and ice cream. We decided to wait till they came so they could share.
You did very well with your bags. Those carry ons are a life saver. I hope I didn't underpack. I tried not to go crazy. I figured most days I will be in a swimsuit and coverup so I only packed a couple of day outfits. I'll do wash if needed.
Here's wishing you a safe and enjoyable trip!! We are in the home stretch. Does it seem like only yesterday that we found these boards?

You did it!! Wow, earlier I thought we would never hit it.
Oh, you poor thing. It is always fun going through the driving prep. My son would not listen to me at all. We would end up arguing in the car. I guess since he is a guy, he is from Mars, I of course, am from Venus. He just never understood why I wanted him to signal sooner. After that, it was his father's job to take him out.
Happy Birthday to your son also!!! Sweet 16 :bday:

Oooooohhhhh, Mexican I didn't think of that. We may have to change our plans for tomorrow night. I can get that margarita I've been craving all week. I might as well get a jump start before that first foo foo drink on the cruise!
No, please keep posting. It's helping me keep a little sane. (if that's possible) My DH keeps asking me what's going on on the boards. See he is getting excited. I keep nagging him about packing. Can you tell this is really bothering me.
My headache is better. Thanks for asking. If I catch it in time I can usually avoid getting a migraine. I sympathize with your husband. Usually drinking in the sun can trigger one for me. My sister-in-law gets them too and she uses the Imitrex shot. It's kinda like an epy (sp) pen. Is that what your husband uses? I've tried a variety of meds and they all have the same effect....nothing. The weird thing is that Excedrin Tension Headache with caffeine works for me.

I understand the washing the sheets thing. My mom offered to do that for us while we are gone. What a nice mom!!! She will be coming to stay at our house while we are gone. Even though the dog will be at the doggie hotel, we still have a cat that needs to be looked after. She's looking forward to lounging in our pool.
I think I've getting everything paid that needs to be paid before we leave. I will double check that tomorrow. I'm saving the moping until the kids go to bed tomorrow night. If I did it now or tomorrow morning I would have to do them again anyway. Why is it that we love to come home to a clean house. My DH thinks I'm so anal. Oh well, when is he going to pack again????? Sorry had to throw that in again.

Hi! Bathing suit has been an issue these last 2 cruises. My DD15yr left her Roxy bathing suit on july 2005 ship the Wonder, on our return to WDW we had to purchase another one at downtown! Then at midnight returning from Magic Kingdom the night before our cruise at Easter april 2006 she told me on the bus she left her swimsuit at home! So a trip to the outlet mall and Pac Sun
on the way to the ship! This time since she is at SeaWorld she has one with her and I packed the other in her cruise suitcase! I think this could be a con , for a new suit? I am finishing the packing, will hit a few more stores
tomorrow! excuse the space not very good at typing! :wave2:

Is anyone bringing their own beach towels. I know they supply towels but I was just wondering if we should bring some of our own too. Not that I have ANY ROOM!!!! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:
I emptied my suitcase (call me crazy  I know). I actually got rid of some stuff. It's all neatly packed and ready to go. I don't know what I was thinking with some of the things I packed. I now have more room.
Our latest countdown:
4 Suitcases
2 Garment bags
2 rolling duffel bags (one will be pretty empty and the other is small)
and of course our carryons.
I'm singing the Partride in a Pear Tree tune to this as I type. :rolleyes1
I'm so glad they limit you to 2 checked bags per person.
FYI - Husband still hasn't packed.

Well, I feel like there has to be something I am missing. I mean, I watched the Pirates movie. I should not have time for that. Should I? I feel like I am too organized at this point. I see that all changing tomorrow. I just found out that my aunt should be here between 12 and 1. I will not be home all morning until 12 or 1. I will have no time to do the stuff I need to do beforehand. I am sure I will be a basket case. :scared1:
I am glad to hear you are feeling better. I know how badly those migraines can be just by going through it with my hubby. He suffered for years before he found out they were migraines. It would ruin an entire Saturday. Finally he went to the doctor and they gave him a prescription for the Imitrex tablets. They knock them right out. Aspirin and such never did.
Well, tomorrow morning I can do the online checkin to try to get an A boarding pass with Southwest. I want to sit with the family, or the stranger that would be next to me would not appreciate my nails digging into their arm upon takeoff. :sad2:

Greetings all!!
We are in Brunswick, Georgia. We spent some time at the pool. It was advertised as the "Largest Outdoor Pool". But they didn't say largest compared to what.
We probably have a three hour drive tomorrow morning, so it will be very relaxing. The good news is that everything fit well into the back of the car.
So if I read the posts correctly, there will be a group of green tshirts, as well as our pink tshirts. We will be quite the crowd.
I am charging all the batteries tonight - Camera, video camera and cell phones. Hey all you new camera owners, did anyone buy the charger to charge the battery in the phone? If so, could you provide some feedback. I probably should have bought a second battery. Oh well.
The family is all very excited. I am guessing we will arrive at the Radisson a little after lunch.
By the way, the internet is not great here, but I may try to post again. I don't like missing all the excitement of your postings.

We brought our Castaway Club towel, but no other beach towels. They provide towels for all excursions and Castaway Cay. I don't know if you are officially allowed to take towels off the ship for your own excursions, but people (perhaps us as well :teeth: ) have been known to do this. Just make sure to bring them back.

You are doing great with your suitcase reduction. With one suitcase per person, I am not opening anything out of them. 5 people, 5 suitcases...sounds good to me. Of course the 3 carryons are added there, but they have my capt morgan's and coconut rum in them . I may need to open them on the way.
Is it okay to carry those in the carry on. They are those little single serve plastic bottles...to mix with soda? Should I put it in a checked bag or will I be okay with it in a carry on?

So happy you made it safe and sound to Georgia. 3 hours tomorrow will go by so quickly.
I didn't know there was a battery for the camera that you can charge in the phone. I may have to have my technical genius of a husband look into that for me. We decided that we are going to bring our Canon camera as well. We will use that one on the ship and the Sony when we are in port since it's so tiny. My hubby thinks I should bring my laptop so we can download the pictures. AH NOT!!! Hello, I think we have enough to carry. I figured with both cameras we should be in good shape. I went with the 2mg for the Sony and we have a 1mg for the Canon.
I still have no word as to what we are wearing. I think I packed all of our clothes!!! I will just look for the pink and the lime green.
You all must be so excited being on your way. Another bunch leaves tomorrow and it's just me and BTSEN family left.
Have a safe trip to the port. See ya Saturday!!!

Yes it is a conspiracy. I just wish I knew what he was thinking. Oh well, I finally come to the conclusion that it is not my problem anymore. Just wait until tomorrow when he has to work, take the dog to the doggie hotel, mow the lawn, have the pool tested, pack his stuff, pack up the car and take us out to dinner. Who will be laughing then..... :rotfl: :rotfl:
I think you will be fine bringing the little bottles in your carryon. When people get off of cruises they carryon the big bottles in the nifty little boxes that say liquor.

Certain rooms at the Radisson can see the Magic when she is in port. We may have to take a look Saturday morning when we wake up.
As you can tell, I did bring my work laptop, even though I can't download pictures. I bought a second 1 mg card, so I think I will be okay. But when I start to fill up the first card, I will check with Shutters to see what the cost is to down load to CD.
I might check work e-mail when I am done posting here. Nah, who am I kidding.
We are still trying to figure out if we want to change our dining. On our first cruise, we had Fernando as our assistant server. On our next cruise, we happened to be in the same rotation as him, although we did not have him. He made sure to stop by the table each night and check on the girls. If he is still on the ship, we may ask to get him. My concern is that if he is on the 5:30 rotation, that might be too early for us. We will talk about it in the car on the drive down.
Does anyone know if Disney's phone numbers are (407) 466-89xx? I had a missed call on my cell phone, and they did not leave a message.
Okay, I am rambling now.

It's funny you say that. My husband was going to mow the lawn today and the lawn guys came to fertilize it. Can't be mowed for 24 hrs. :rotfl2: See he should have listen to me two days ago about the packing thing. :lmao:
Ok, really I'm going to put this laptop down now and try to get some shut eye.
Uhhhmmm, I see you are still on. :lmao:
To bed with you!! You have to go first.
Well, I am old and I can't take it any longer. I am off to bed. After all, I have a boarding pass to get.
Have a great night. Sleep well. I will not be home much in the morning but you can bet that as I pass the computer I will be checking in.

The 407 area code is definatly the Orlando area. I'm not sure what their number is though.
I'm still hoping we can change our dining times. Do you know where you can do that once you are on the ship.

Well, you must have taken that dream, because I did not have one that even resembled it. That is just not right. ;)
I woke up with a start in the middle of the night, because I had a dream that my youngest was hurt. How terrible is that? I think this fear of flying is affecting my subconsious. I am not nervous about anything else, so that must be it. I will try to keep those dreams from making an appearance tonight.
I told my husband, after I found out that it was going to rain, that I would rather take off on a dry runway, and he just laughed. Do you believe that. He said I don't know much about airplanes. He is very supportive of my worries. :rolleyes1

Good Morning every one! We are off to breakfast in about 15 minutes. Tomorrow we will be in our last minute preparations to go to the terminal! We are on the 10:30 shuttle. We may go down early and try to catch the 10:00 am. If they don't have room for all four, I may send DW and DDs to get the boarding card. I will come at 10:30 with the luggage.
Good luck in last minute packing.

Nope, I didn't see Johnny in my dreams last night either. I don't even think I had a dream. At least I can't remember. Probably a good thing considering the dream you had. Yikes!!! I hate when I have those types of dreams.
No worries about taking off in the rain. All will be fine. I've taken off and landed in so many snow storms. Just think that they do this everyday. I always tell myself they want to get home to see their families too. Just remember to take those deep breathes and have those drinks.

Wednesday we never left AKL, yesterday we were at EPCOT and did the best we could. Today dh is golfing then he's going to take Noah back to go on more rides while I get a little alone time at DTD  and the laundry room :laundy:
AKL is beautiful. I'm not very impressed with the Concierge here however, the Poly staff seems much nicer. We've not seen many animals from our room either. My heart belongs to Poly  .

Happy thought, we should be at our meet tomorrow at this time or at least getting ready for the lifeboat drill!!!!! Sail away is just a little over 24 hours away!

I have 5 shirts...you can have a couple of them for your little ones. Well, it may be too big for a 3 year old, but she could hang it on her wall. :) But, seriously, if Zach would like to do this, do not buy a white shirt. I will have them.
That is very nice, thank you. I totally forgot that I actually bought Zach some white tshirts to go under his button down shirts for formal night. I believe I have 5 in a pack as well.
Thanks again!

One quick question before I go back to these people that live in my house :rotfl: My 14 year old is insisting that he will wear only dressy shorts to dinner on the "non dressy" nights. He says he is like his father and really doesn't care if people think badly of him. (What have we done?) Anyway, are there people that wear shorts in the dining rooms? Unfortunately, I do care what others think to a degree. Unfortunately also, I am the only female in this family; thus, the only one that cares. :rolleyes1

We are here!! We spent the afternoon by the pool. I had to try one of the Margaritas. It was okay. Both DD's met another pair of sisters, and they have been having a lot of fun. We just got back from dinner, and they are back at the pool again, playing with their new found friends.
BTSEN5 - if you want your DD14 to wear pants, tell him it is perfectly acceptable for boys to wear dressy shorts to dinner... as long as the boys are only five years old.
Seriously, I think if a man wore dress shorts to dinner, something may be said, as the suggested attire specifically says no shorts. A 14 year old may be able to get away with it, but he might be the only one wearing shorts. How about letting him wear the shorts on the first night, see what other folks are wearing and if he is still comfortable wearing the shorts. If he is the only one wearing shorts, he may opt himself to wear pants the rest of the cruise.

I have the same dilema with Zach. I'm going to let him wear dressy shorts and a polo shirt to dinner on "non dressy" nights. First off he only has two pairs of dressy pants and that's because I had to buy them for him for this cruise. Living here in Florida kids even wear dressy shorts to church. I figured if it's good enough for church why not a cruise. The Disney cruise we went on last year I saw men wearing shorts and jeans to dinner. If people have a problem with Zach in shorts, then so be it. I'm not going to worry about it. Honestly if people are so worried about what everyone is wearing it just takes the fun out of going to dinner. I do look forward to the formal and semi-formal nights because it is fun playing dress up with the kids!!
I'm sorry about going on and on here about this, but I was going around in circles with this myself.

I told him that for little boys it would probably be okay. I am bringing pants too, so I am hoping that he will decide to wear them. I could force the issue, but I will not get in an argument about it, especially while on vacation. We will see how it all works out.
Glad to hear you made it and have gotten to relax a bit. We are going to leave here at 6:15 to get to the airport. Weather is looking okay, and everyone is so excited.

She always does the "wildside excursion" for teens on CC. She also is at the "Stack" teen club each night till closing. 2am. DD has met quite a number of friends on board, and alot them still stay in touch. In fact we are meeting a previous friend and her mother from NJ, at WDW after this cruise. Just tell your nephew to get involved, they have and great time and the councelors are fantastic! See you tomorrow!

As sad as it was the leave the Magic (although it seemed like they didn't want to let us off), it's good to be home. It's only been about 15 minutes so nothing but the rum is unpacked :cool1: . Trying to figure out who is going to serve us tonight. We've been without food for more than 2 hours so we are starving!!
It was great to meet everyone, hope you all had a great time! We became DVC members onboard. Hopefully that means we will get to cruise again soon! My only regret was that this cruise wasn't a double dip. I liked Grand Cayman, not too impressed with Cozumel. The rain at CC was a bummer too, thankfully it stopped. Even without direct sunshine dh got a burn.
Can't wait to hear about everyone's trip. I also have been taking notes so I can post a trip report.

Hi everyone,
We made it home at about 5:30. Our 2:30 flight (yes, how dumb was that?) was delayed an hour. I was very nervous about this flight, so I packed some stash in my purse...the little bottles of rum I did not finish due to all those drinks of the day....and had a drink before boarding. It was an okay flight, but very sad to leave.
We watched Remember the Magic ( I think) last night, I cried. We went to debark, and they were playing what sounded like the music from the same show, I cried. I think I am all cried out now.
It was so nice to meet all of you. I ran into a few over the course of the week and it was very nice to see familiar faces.
Thank you Gales for the refreshments. That was so nice of you. I am looking so forward to our next cruise. Tonight though I feel 10 years older and 5 sizes larger. Wonder how that happened.

Thanks VM for the picture of Two Palms! I will take it and put it on our Cruise web page.
We got home at 8:00 pm tonight. I think we were some of the last people off the ship. With the delay, we went up to Studio Sea with FD_Chief's family to hang out. One of the CM came in and put on some music. I think we finally walked off at about 9:30. Because we were so late, the Radisson Shuttle was starting to bring the new folks over, so we had to wait a bit. We caught up with some other friends in the Radisson holding area. We the exception of the sun, it really was not bad waiting. It just allowed us to enjoy the Magic of the cruise a bit longer.
It was great to meet everyone and see you all during the week. We booked the Thanksgiving 2007 Wonder cruise while on board. We still have a deposit for a seven day cruise (currently scheduled for last week of April). We will probably move it to the summer of 2008.

I cried at the kids show, again at Remember the Magic, and when they started to play that music when we were debarking. Why did they play that music??!! It was a great trip.
We didn't book on board - we became DVC members. Last night we were going over some of our options and we can use our points for a 4 night cruise and a few nights at our DVC home next July which is our 20th anniversary! We were trying to decide if we'd be happy with a 4 night cruise now and I think we will, our favorite times are Castaway Cay and sea days so this should work.

Hey everyone........
We are back from the cruise......sorry I never made it to the Dis meet and as a result didn't get to meet you guys in person. We had a great trip...it was our first cruise ever. I have to say that I was stunned...absolutely in awe by how wonderful Castaway Cay is. We snorkeled for a long time and saw so many fish! I almost cried in the morning with the rain, but we went out anyway and ended up having a great day there.
We will likely do another cruise with Disney again. I personally would like to just live on Castaway Cay. It was awesome.
BTSEN...I think I "may" have met you and didn't even realize it until I got home. Were you and your husband at the 11:00pm dessert buffet on Thurs? My mom and I sat at a table, and I swear it may have been you seated with us for a little while. I wish I would've realized it then!

2littlestitches comment about sitting with BTSEN5 shows how small of world (or cruise ship) it really is.
We were on our way to our excursion at Rum Point beach at Grand Cayman and our family is seated across from a mother and daughter. After a bit of conversation, mom said something about the daughter being at Sea World the week before. I asked if they were SKMinnie48, and they were! It was such a joy to meet them. SKMinnie48 (the daughter) is such a great role model and is at a point in her life where my DD10 strives to be. Oh, it was nice talking with mom too. :)

Yes, that was me and my husband. We were sitting next to that nice, very polite little girl. Unfortunately, she was not mine. Wasn't the dessert buffet so awesome!! I was amazed by the entire thing. I wish I would have known too that it was you there with us. What a small w....I mean ship.
Castaway Cay was so nice. My husband and youngest snorkeled and from what they tell me, it was a blast. I wish I would have done that, but with the rain, I just didn't feel like getting in the water. I guess we will have to do another cruise so I can experience that.

I know what you mean. I remember you saying about the sunscreen and I did not, since Brian parked our stuff in timbuktu, get up to get any. The kids did not get too much. Well, I think Eric got a little more than I would like, but I never saw him at CC. He loved the banana boat ride!!
The Konk Cooler was so delicious. I miss those foo foo drinks. I think I tried every drink of the day except the apple thing on Friday. They were all great.
Oh, and the servers were wonderful. They went above and beyond what I ever expected. I miss them. Oh, and the flaming baked alaska parade. What a surprise!! I never once read about that on this board, so I was overwhelmed by it. What a way to thank the servers. They all looked like they enjoyed it so much.
Oh, and the Gales saved our 10 year old from missing the fireworks on Pirate night. Nate was so tired and wanted to go to bed. Thank goodness we waited a couple of minutes.Thank you.

I want to thank Kellie for letting Savannah join in on making the sand castle with her and Noah. (and the little girl, never got her name) She really enjoyed doing that.
Even though it rained I had a wonderful day at Castaway Cay. I kept telling myself that I should put sunscreen on the kids and I never did. Thank goodness they only got a little pink. Jon on the other hand.....OUCH!!!! A little red!!
Not a problem - Savannah was quite a little worker. I think the other girl's name was Leah but I'm not certain. I was laughing because she was telling me how bossy my son was, all the while telling me I wasn't doing thing right. She could boss with the best of them. Didn't matter though - we were having fun and she had a vision.
I was so upset when I saw it was raining when we docked. I'm glad it stopped, but a little blue sky would have been wonderful. DH got quite a sunburn anyway.
Even though we really enjoyed the 7 night cruise I think we will go back to the 4 night. Our favorite days are sea days and CC. I wish they had a 7 night that just alternated a day at sea with CC. I don't need to go to any ports. Although I really did like Grand Cayman.

I am going to post a trip report. I had a notebook with me and meant to write down everything we ordered for dinner - but I always forgot. So my report won't be as detailed as I had hoped but I think it will help people.
I can't recommend Native Way enough - they were FANTASTIC!! There were only 7 of us on their Island tour/Sting Ray city excursion. What was supposed to be a 2 1/2 hour excursion was at least 4 hours. It was great, the driver was so informative and gave us extra time at the turtle farm (which Noah loved).

The turtle farm was great, but we felt rushed. We booked the excursion through Disney. It seemed like we were running behind. The stingrays were unbelievable. I have some really neat pictures on CD of that. They just amazed me.

I also felt bad because my 2 youngest were with us mainly for dinner and the islands. They had such a good time, there were even times that I did not make them eat with us. Nate loved to eat with his friends in the clubs, and Eric met some very nice kids in the teen club. They have his cell phone number, so now I have to keep a close eye on the minutes he uses. They are already planning a cruise for 2008. :thumbsup2 I am fine with that. I am wanting to go to CC again soon.
We went to the beach today, and I could not help looking out into the ocean and thinking of the cruise...white sands, and clear water. I had to really imagine that.
It was good to meet you and everyone.
Oh, I wanted to ask.... we ate the asian buffet one day (?) and there was a couple there from Germany. They were artists I believe. One sang opera, and I forget what the man said he did. Anyway, they said they were traveling with a DIS family. I was wondering if it was anyone from the board? Not sure who will check back in , but just thought I would ask. They were very interesting and engaging people.

We felt guilty because our kids didn't want to go to the clubs! They enjoyed hanging out with us. Well except when you saw us in line for pictures! Wow was that a trying time.
We too are trying to figure out the best time to go back. Would love to go over the kid's spring break in March. If not we will have to wait until summer of 2008 since they are doing the Med. next summer.
Hope all is well!

The couple from Germany was on the ship with my family. I was at the DIS meet, but did not stay long. My family was anxious to explore the ship, since we arrived somewhat late. I don't think we were introduced. If we were and I forgot, I apologize. As a young adult, I babysat for Rachel, the opera singer. When she was about 12, she sang in my wedding. Her husband is an artist. They are quite the eccentric couple and are quite interesting to converse with. I'm glad you enjoyed their company.
I am missing the cruise as well. My daughter cried huge tears on the last night. It will truly stay in my heart forever. . . memories that will last a lifetime. I'm thinking of doing another cruise in 2009, when my oldest son graduates from high school. I'd love to do Disney again! Any cruisers for 2009?

Wow, that is neat. I do believe I met you briefly. Rachel and her husband were very interesting to talk to. They decided to have dessert, because they were looking for something other than asian. I don't know how DIS came up, but she did say she was with oneof the group. I really knew immediately that they were very creative people. Artistic people (which I am not) always amaze me. Their life stories are always amazing, because they take a route that most of us would not chance. I hope they enjoyed the cruise.
I have been pricing RCCL for next year since there are no 7 day cruises next summer with Disney. I don't think I can do a 3 or 4 day now. 2008 is when we will plan on our next Disney cruise. I cannot wait. People told me that once you go on a cruise you will want to go again and again. I now know they were right.

My trip report is complete and posted, I added it to the existing thread. We are currently planning a 4 night cruise for next summer. It will be our 20th anniversary and we can use our new DVC points for most of it. We will be going down to a category 9 (have only had cat. 6 so far) but we really didn't go on the veranda very much so I think it will be ok. As I've said before our favorite days are CC and sea days and with the 4 night that's what we get. We will pretend to be at sea while docked in Nassau ;)
It really bugged me to have to change a toilet paper roll the other day - boy did I get spoiled for 2 weeks!!

It was a great report. Thanks for doing one. :thumbsup2 We are trying to plan a 7 day Eastern cruise for March 2007. This will be over the kids spring break. We've never done a Eastern cruise so it will be a nice change. I'm spoiled in having a verandah. I tried an inside stateroom once on another cruise line and I hated it. I love sitting out there when we are docking or even late at night when the kids are asleep to read or just chill out.
I hear ya about the toilet paper. I miss them cleaning up after me that's for sure. Believe it or not I'm happy to be home cooking again. IMHO I dislike cruise food. I find it very bland. Oh well I think I better get going to do some serious cleaning in here. YUCK!!!

Great trip report!! I have an outline. I thought I might do one from a newbie perspective.
I was in a cat 9 and I really liked it. We would have never used the verandah much, so it was a nice alternative, and the portholes are huge. It was really neat waking up and seeing the ocean.
It is really bugging me that I have to clean up after everyone. I need to clean the house so badly, but I am having trouble accepting that I have to do it....and no towel animals. It just doesn't seem right. :rotfl2: Kids under feet, including neighborhood kids, doorbells constantly, and the guilt the kids give me for actually cleaning, makes it difficult.
I wonder how long the withdrawl goes on. I guess I need to get another one scheduled so I can get in a planning mode again, and have something to look forward to.

I really enjoyed reading both yours and Noahsmom's trip reports. I started one today. It's hard to remember everything. Hopefully I will have time to post more tomorrow. Where is everybody? I really enjoyed talking to everyone before the cruise. I really would like to continue talking to everyone to hear about their vacation.
Question to all? What was your favorite part of the cruise?

I have to say Pirate Night. I thought that was so much fun. It was nice because it was one time that Nate wanted to be with us, even though he was exhausted.
Castaway Cay was really great too.

It's hard to pick one favorite thing! We all loved our Stingray swim. I'm so glad I booked that myself instead through Disney. The small group on our excursion made it so much more personal. We also really enjoyed time on the ship. Castaway Cay was a bit disappointing because of the weather, but it was still a good day.
Looks like our next cruise is July 22, 2007 a 4 night Wonder. Our 20th anniversary will be the 25th so we'd like to be on the ship at Palo! I have to look for a DIS meet group now!

Hi Ansky,
Great to hear from you. I know it has been so busy since the cruise. We are getting our pictures back slowly but surely. With the power outages out west everything is delayed. It is exciting to think of another cruise. I think I will always have to be planning one now, so I can have that to look forward to.
I am glad your son liked the clubs. Mine did too; so much so that they did not want to be with us hardly at all. I guess that is a good thing.
Well, it was good to see you on the boards. Have a great day.

:grouphug: Hi everyone! It was so great to meet so many of you on board, it really made such a difference while we were cruising! I plan on catching up on reading the boards and may even download a picture or two soon! Sigh, I miss not 'planning' a vacation but guess I can work on my trip notes and pictures instead!
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Funny tidbit. My DH and I misunderstood one another (that only happens to us, I'm sure) and therefore my DS8 and DS12 did not have any underwear or socks packed for the trip but my DS10 did. So first thing I did in Key West was pop into CVS pharmacy (are they like on EVERY street corner, or what!) and buy underwear - while the rest of you were buying Tortuga rum cakes! :rotfl2:
type later,
Terri
p.s. Noah's mom, I never met you but sillykid's mom pointed you out to me at Castaway Cay and I waved to you. I have an DS8 and he probably met yours in the club as well!

Hi Terri,
That is too funny. Glad to hear all is well. I am in contact with Kodak. I sent my memory stick in to them from BJ's club here to get the 208 pictures printed out. Now they cannot find my order, or my memory stick. To top that off, I do not have the envelope number, because when I picked up the other 6 picture orders, I accidentally threw it away.... I am assuming.
I hope they find them. At least I have them on this computer. I think I can transfer them to photobucket or something like that and have them ordered online.
As I was letting go of the envelope to drop it into the slot I had this thought "Do not let go." I believe I should have listened to it.
I look forward to seeing some pictures too. :thumbsup2

Terri that is hilarious.... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'm always afraid that I'm going to forget to pack underwear so I make sure that is the first thing I pack! I always complain to husband that I have 3 people to pack and he only has himself. His response is do you want to kids to match and have underwear. :lmao:
It was great to meet you and your family. My DS8 didn't spend all that much time in the club. He enjoyed staying with us and driving us crazy. I guess sending him to camp for the summer back fired. He didn't want to participate in much activities in there because he felt like he was back at camp and wanted a break. Oh well next Disney cruise no summer camp.
It was nice running into you several times on the ship and at Castaway Cay. I think the DIS boards and having the DIS meets are great! Who knows maybe one day we will see you on another Disney Cruise!
Hope all is well and keep in touch.

I'm glad to hear that your getting some sleep. We too are skipping a Disney Cruise next year. I wish we could take one, but I really want another 7 nighter and even though I would love to do the mediterranean it's just not in our budget for that type of vacation for next year. It is going to be 102 here today too. I told my husband we may have to go to the Caribbean to cool off. It was definitely more comfortable there than it is here.
I was watching Regis and Kelly this morning...or I am ....and I guess NY has not reached 100 in a long time. They showed a picture of people hanging off of fire hydrants....I guess they turn them on when it is hot? and a nice pool at Central Park. I need to find a pool. The beach is way too hot.

I hear ya'll about the tempature. It may not be 100 or above here but the feels like tempature is and it is miserable. We even have a pool and I have no desire to go in it. The pool is even hot. It may not have been the sunniest :sunny: vacation in the Caribbean, but it sure was alot cooler. So shall we catch the next boat and head out of here?? :woohoo:
