Secret Scrapbook Sister Exchange- Sign Ups Until Sunday, January 8

Paula and I will be co-hosting the Secret Scapbooking Sister Exchange. Please read through the instructions, if you chose to participate we look forward to your participation. We are accepting SSS from the UK and Canada as long as their are people willing to swap with them

You will send your Dis Secret Scrapbook Sister a package once a month by the 20th of each month. The package should cost around $10 not including shipping. The first mailing should occur by January 20th.

The package should include mostly scrapping items, but can also involve candy, healthy snacks or other items. The items can be bought or if you would like you make some of them as well.

$10 minimum-extras are welcome (not including the shipping)

Sign up by- Sunday, January 8
Mail by- Friday, January 20: Monday, February 20: and Monday, March 20.

Please post in this thread if you plan on joining so we can look for your PM. You will receive the name and information for your SSS by Monday, January 9, so you have time to shop for your Secret Scrapping Sister.

This is a three month long commitment. Please consider if you have the time, finances and ability to commit yourself for three months. This can be tons of fun if everyone is commited and follows through. If not it is unfair to everyone who is participating. I know I would be upset if my SSS stopped participating and I am sure so would everyone else. If a problem does arise please let Paula or I know so that we are aware of what is going on.

I just spoke with Paula on the phone. Things are moving along well, we have 12 names of people who are participating in the swap. We have decided to add some questions to the survey in order to have more information for our Secret Sisters. They are listed below if you have already signed up you should receive a PM, with the questions in it.

I will update the original post to reflect the new questions. Also we are willing to allow people from the UK or Canada as long as there are people who are willing to swap with them. This question is also being added to the survey. I am sorry for the additional work on your parts, but it will hopefully make the swap run smoother in the long run. Thank you for your cooperation.

This may be a really dumb question, but here it goes anyway...I have never done a "secret" swap. How do you keep the secret when mailing and still use your return address incase there is a problem at the post office? :confused3

I would put your return address on the package just don't put your name on it. If they really wanted to figure it out they might be able to by the address but maybe not.

As for if you want to send emails use a different email address, even if you just create it for the swap.

Basically like a Secret Santa except secret scrapbbok sister swap. Send out a package one time every three months. You can also send emails or cards or letters in between as well if you would like to. If you send emails make sure to use a different email address than your screen name. Also if you send a letter for your return address don't include your name.

Your package can include scrapbooking stuff, Disney stuff, stuff for their favorite character, candles, favorite perfume, etc. The survey asks questions about stuff besides scrapbooking to give you a better idea of what your buddy likes. You can send anything that fits with that list or something you think they might like such as a picture frame. Just try to keep to ideas from their list.

True. Maybe we can just send a quick pm to one of the organizers so they know that we had sent out our exchange and they can keep track of them.
Then have a SSS recieved thread that each participant could post on when they have recieved their exchange.

This sounds good to me. Although everyone should be mailing around the same time each month for the big package so I don't know how easy it would be to figure out.

We will be accepting names until 5pm, then Paula and I will divide the names between the two of us so we each will be pairing half of the names. Since PM's went to both of us, we have to go through the names we each got to make sure we haven't got doubles or miss anyone. Secret Sister Names should be out by Monday Night.

I have to head to work soon. I will be there until 7:30pm est. When I get home I will work on sending out PM's or if it comes to it I will email everyone. I am sorry for the delay, I really hoped I could get them out before I went to work today but that isn't happening.

I hope everyone has received their secret scrap sister's name by now. If your Dis Name is in the other thread and you have not received your SSS please let Paula or I know. I started a thread where you can post when you received your package. It is here (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=11118566#post11118566).

Would you be interested in a thread for posting messages to your secret sister? If so, in order to post you would have to create a second dis name. Just let me know what you think?
