How are the times for border crossings??? What sort of ID do they ask for???
If anyone has gone recently, please post.

My dad crossed at detroit/windsor last week and it only took him one hour- a half hour more than usual. He drives tractor/trailer so he's allways back and forth between Canada and USA.

we crossed at buffalo using the peace bridge yesterday....
going in.....very quick about 4 minutes........they did not even ask for id but they were checking trunks of cars...
coming home a different story....took about 45 minutes (probably would have taken much longer if we had not been able to get in the truck lane which was moving so much faster than the middle lane)....when we finally got to the booth they wanted photo id.....we gave them passports......and the custom official did plug in....some data into the computer....
so i would say for us it was much more stringent getting back into canada than getting out....
but that can all change of course......last week some truckers were experiencing 12 - 20 hour delays getting into the states

I was in downtown Windsor yesterday and the border crossing times at the Detroit border were about 45 minutes.
